Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Daffodil but my foster family calls me “DILLY.” I'm a Great Pyrenees mix and my approximate date of birth is 09/22/2022. While I'm excited to meet you now, I am scheduled to be spayed on April 29th and pending how I heal, will be ready to come join your home shortly thereafter!  I’m a big gal. If you’re a lover of big dogs, I’m definitely the one for you. I have all the benefits a large dog can offer: Protection, cuddles, soft fur, a beautiful profile, lap warming abilities. All of it. I’m definitely a Great Pyrenees mix because I love to protect my home and do security checks around the property. When my foster human kiddos play outside, I will gladly babysit them and hang out with them until the end of time. I even have chickens in my foster home and I do a good job of protecting them too. Squirrels beware though, I’m on duty and I will chase you!  In my foster home I live with 4 cats, a lot of chickens, 2 adult humans and 3 kiddo humans including 1 baby. I love all of them and do great with everyone! Cats, I definitely can live with, but I also like to chase them so sometimes they don’t like that. Because I’m so big, I do accidentally knock the baby over once in a while. Oops. I can’t help it and I don’t mean to do it! I am potty trained and kennel trained. I sleep in my kennel perfectly at night and don’t make a peep. If I need to go potty, I either use my doggy doorbell or I sit by the door to get your attention. I am probably the best dog to walk, like ever. My mom says I don’t pull a whole lot, I pay attention to her signals and I greet people nicely. I’m still skittish and scare easily, so sometimes I get frightened by loud noises, but that’s about it. I had a rough start before coming to rescue. I was found pretty skinny, weighing in at 48 lbs when I should be between 80-100lbs. For this reason, I LOVE food. If you need to teach me a trick, food works great. I’m so smart it only took me 4 days to learn both sit and shake paw. Imagine what else I could learn! I absolutely LOVE the sun and laying in the grass, where after releasing my "zoomies", I drop down on the ground, close my eyes, and take in all the smells and warmth. I can't wait to experience my first summer! When I'm inside, I love to fall asleep on the couch (taking up the entire thing) or lay on your lap. I love my squeaky toys and kong full of treats. Anything to keep me busy is awesome, because I’m smart. Smart dogs need to have jobs or be kept busy.  Some input about me, and where my best fit would be: - A busy house would be a great fit for me! - I seem to do great free roaming when the humans are gone, but I can also kennel if needed. I do the kennel at bedtime. - I would do best in a home without cats. - I LOVE kids. They are so lickable. - I do great with other dogs, BUT they do still scare me, so I can be really shy when meeting them. After I get to know them though, it’s PLAY TIME! - I need an owner that understands that smart dogs need jobs. Couch potatoes need not apply, I need interaction and stuff to do. - I went to a Brewery with my fosters and did so good in Public. If you want a dog for outings, I would be a good fit. - Outdoor adventures are a must. - I’m a Great Pyrenees, so although I’m super smart, I can be stubborn and listen when I feel like it. If you know anything about Great Pyrenees, you’ll know this is exactly how we all are!  - I'm a fantastic walker and will definitely need lots of walks to exercise my giant legs. I don't pull all that much, unless the kids are way ahead of me and I want to catch up to them, otherwise, taking in those smells is something I look forward to everyday.   - I’m loyal beyond words. If you pick me, I’m in this for life. I’m yours. I hope to get a chance to meet you soon so that we can start our life together while I'm still a young and a growing girl! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
We are looking to rehome our lovely Murphy due to realizing that he needs more space (farm or large yard with a fence) and (preferably) to be in a home with another big dog that he can play with. Murphy is a year old and 72lbs. He is a very sweet boy who wants to be outside and playing and/or to be around his people. He is very smart. We have been working on commands such as sit, stay, come, place and kennel. He's still trying to get a hang of "come" but otherwise is learning quite well. He is getting more comfortable with his kennel and sleeps there at night and will often go in and lay down when we are around. He cannot yet be off leash as he will run. He gets several walks a day and does quite well on a leash. He does really well with our other 4lb dog but sad because she won't play. Our cat will not come out of the basement, as he is too scared, and therefore we don't know how well the two of them would do. Murphy is a great dog and just needs a more fitting space/home.

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Lenny - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey y'all, it's Lenny here, as in Lenny Kravitz! Yep, I was named after the multi-talented performer as I have many talents of my own. 'I Belong To You' would be my ultimate dream come true. And, 'Are You Gonna Go My Way', where you can be 'My Cab Driver' so we can run thru those 'Fields Of Joy'! Oh my, yep, what dreams are made of!! I'm an energetic youngster of only around 10 months but I have a very gentle soul that does very well with the other foster pups here at the rescue even the young puppies and the itty bitty little ones. I play very gently with them. I am a very happy happy boy that is easy going but I do have a slightly goofy side to me also. The entertainer side of me is the happiest when I get to see smiles and hear chuckles from my people! I probably won't get much bigger then my current 55lbs which I might say is a pretty pawsome size. I am always ready and willing to tackle any and all of those action packed adventures we'll be going on but at the end of the day, I'm also a perfect size for getting my cuddles on! Oh yeah, you know what I'm talking about....belly rubs, ear scratches, a lap to lay my head!! Are you searching for a multi-talented fella? One that will gladly be by your side on action adventures along with your daily going on's? If you 'Believe In Me' 'U Will Know' I'm the boy for you!! You only need to stop what you're doing and fill out my adoption application and I'll do the rest!!
