Meet Bianca: Bianca is about a 1 and a half year old (as of August 2026) Great Pyrenees mix (best guess) that weighs 73 pounds. Bianca was surrendered belt her owners to a high kill shelter in Memphis, TN because she required more attention and exercise than they were willing or able to give. This sweet girl was due to be euthanized due to length of stay and we were able to rescue her at the last minute! We are so thankful for our network to be able to step up and find room! Bianca is currently safe and being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Bianca has a very friendly personality and has been good with other dogs and people. Bianca does have a lot of energy and will need an active family who is willing to give her lots of exercise. Bianca walks well on a leash, however she will pull when she gets excited and could use extra training to perfect her leash skills. Bianca is house trained and crate trained. Bianca will require a home with a physical fenced in yard. Bianca is up to date on her shots and will be spayed as of 8/21/26. Meet Beau: Beau is about a 1 and a 1/2 year old (as of August 2026) Lab/Pyreenes mix (best guess) that weighs about 85 pounds. Beau was found as a stray and the rescuer connected with our rescue to save him. Beau is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Beau is a very sweet, very big boy! Beau is so friendly and good with other dogs, cats and loves people and attention. Beau is a master cuddler/snuggler! Beau is an energetic guy who loves to play before cozying up for the night. Beau will thrive with an active family that will want to play with him. Beau walks well on a leash. Beau will go into a crate but does not prefer being crated at all. Beau is house trained but is currently residing in an outdoor kennel, so he may need some patience while adjusting back into the house. Beau will need a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play and lounge freely. Beau is up to date on his shots and neutered. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Bert and Ernie need a new home! These are my two 4 year old brothers. I purchased them to protect my Nubian goat herd. Unfortunately they were fence jumpers and I never felt comfortable letting them in the field by themselves. My life has changed and I have downsized my herd. This has left Bert and Ernie with no real job and unfortunately they spend most of their time in the barn. I’d love to find a new home for them where they had more purpose and ideally one where they could be together as they have spent their whole like together. I live in Central PA. Joker and Jedi are two brothers, estimated to be around 2 years old, who have been through more together than any dogs should have to endure. They were abandoned and left to survive on their own, relying on each other every step of the way. We believe Joker was even hit by a car during that time—but through it all, these two brothers never left each other’s side. Today, their story looks very different. Safe at the rescue, Joker and Jedi have shown us just how incredible they are. Despite everything they’ve experienced, they are outgoing, loving, and full of joy. In fact, their friendly personalities are so wonderful that they now help us socialize other dogs and show them that people—and life—can be pretty great. These brothers love spending time outside exploring and enjoying the day, but with all that fur, they know when it’s time to head inside! Once the temperatures rise, you’ll find them happily stretched out in the air conditioning, relaxing with their favorite humans. Joker and Jedi are the definition of resilience. They survived together, healed together, and now they’re ready for the best chapter of their story—a life filled with love, comfort, and a family of their own. Callie is a sweet, gentle girl with a loving heart and a wonderfully easygoing personality. After raising 9 puppies, this special girl is ready for something she deserves just as much: a loving family of her own. Callie has balanced energy. She enjoys walks, playtime, and a little stimulation, but she also settles beautifully when it is time to relax. She loves being close to her person and will gently lay her head on you when she wants pets. Talk to her and her tail never stops wagging! Callie walks beautifully on leash and does not pull. She likes to stay close and follow her person’s lead. She knows come and sit, is food and praise motivated, and happily goes into her crate when the door opens or a treat is tossed inside. She even responds to kissy noises. She is good with new people and has been doing well with other dogs through baby gates. She may prefer a quieter start while she settles into a new home, but once comfortable, her fun side comes out with playful bounces and zoomies. Callie has been through a lot in her short life, but she has remained gentle, kind, and loving. Now it is her turn to be spoiled, cherished, and loved simply for being Callie.
