Meet Bianca: Bianca is about a 1 and a half year old (as of August 2026) Great Pyrenees mix (best guess) that weighs 73 pounds. Bianca was surrendered belt her owners to a high kill shelter in Memphis, TN because she required more attention and exercise than they were willing or able to give. This sweet girl was due to be euthanized due to length of stay and we were able to rescue her at the last minute! We are so thankful for our network to be able to step up and find room! Bianca is currently safe and being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Bianca has a very friendly personality and has been good with other dogs and people. Bianca does have a lot of energy and will need an active family who is willing to give her lots of exercise. Bianca walks well on a leash, however she will pull when she gets excited and could use extra training to perfect her leash skills. Bianca is house trained and crate trained. Bianca will require a home with a physical fenced in yard. Bianca is up to date on her shots and will be spayed as of 8/21/26. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Bert and Ernie need a new home! These are my two 4 year old brothers. I purchased them to protect my Nubian goat herd. Unfortunately they were fence jumpers and I never felt comfortable letting them in the field by themselves. My life has changed and I have downsized my herd. This has left Bert and Ernie with no real job and unfortunately they spend most of their time in the barn. I’d love to find a new home for them where they had more purpose and ideally one where they could be together as they have spent their whole like together. I live in Central PA. Joker and Jedi are two brothers, estimated to be around 2 years old, who have been through more together than any dogs should have to endure. They were abandoned and left to survive on their own, relying on each other every step of the way. We believe Joker was even hit by a car during that time—but through it all, these two brothers never left each other’s side. Today, their story looks very different. Safe at the rescue, Joker and Jedi have shown us just how incredible they are. Despite everything they’ve experienced, they are outgoing, loving, and full of joy. In fact, their friendly personalities are so wonderful that they now help us socialize other dogs and show them that people—and life—can be pretty great. These brothers love spending time outside exploring and enjoying the day, but with all that fur, they know when it’s time to head inside! Once the temperatures rise, you’ll find them happily stretched out in the air conditioning, relaxing with their favorite humans. Joker and Jedi are the definition of resilience. They survived together, healed together, and now they’re ready for the best chapter of their story—a life filled with love, comfort, and a family of their own. 🐾 Meet Yasha: Professional Couch Lounger, Part-Time Security System 🐾 Yasha is a 4-year-old Great Pyrenees/Yellow Lab mix with a heart of gold, impeccable manners, and a firm belief that personal space is optional when it comes to her favorite humans. At first glance, she may seem a little shy. New people and new situations get a cautious once-over before she decides everything is safe. But give her a few minutes, and she'll mosey on over for pets, affection, and possibly a permanent spot next to you on the couch. Once you're in Yasha's circle, you're in for life. This sweet girl is the full package: house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and equipped with several useful features, including Sit™, Stay™, and Go To Your Crate™. She walks politely on leash without pulling and prefers a relaxed stroll to any sort of marathon training program. Yasha is also an excellent canine diplomat. She ignores cats, isn't interested in starting drama with other dogs, and generally takes a "live and let live" approach.
