Story
Meet Klondike, the dynamo of the shelter with boundless energy and a heart full of love! This smart and spirited pup is ready to charm his way into your life with his infectious enthusiasm and eager-to-please attitude. Having already aced basic training classes, Klondike is a canine scholar who knows his commands like the back of his paw. From sitting politely to shaking a paw, he's a quick learner who thrives on positive reinforcement. His loose leash walking skills are impressive, and he's a master at staying focused on his handler, making walks a joyous adventure for both of you. When it comes to water, Klondike is like a fish in a pond - he adores it in all forms, whether it's from a hose, a bowl, a pool, or even the shower! His playful nature shines brightest when he's romping around with his beloved toys or engaging in a spirited game of tug of war with his favorite people. As a cattle dog, Klondike possesses a heightened prey drive and herding instincts, making him best suited for a home without cats or smaller dogs. He may also exhibit some resource-guarding tendencies, particularly with his prized possessions. Additionally, his exuberance may be a bit overwhelming for young children, so he'll thrive in an environment with older kids or adults who can match his energy levels. But fear not, because Klondike is fully house-trained and even knows how to ring a bell to let you know when he needs to go outside. He's also a pro at crate-training, making him a perfect companion for both overnight stays and during your workday. This lovable pup is seeking a forever home with an owner who can keep up with his sharp mind and provide plenty of mental stimulation and engaging activities. With his clean bill of health from DNA testing, Klondike is ready to embark on a lifetime of adventures with his new best friend. Are you ready to make Klondike a part of your family?

Story
His name is Bear :)! Bear was my mother-in-laws dog. Me and my husband adopted him when she passed from cancer and his father was also battling cancer. Now we have a one year old and we are unable to take care of him and give him all the love he deserves. Bear is so gentle, obedient, he loves attention and snuggles. He never leaves your side! (So much so he does not need a leash for walks!)

Story
We are so sad to lose him, but need to find a new home for our 10-month-old Pyrenees mix, Willett. He is a wonderful, calm, cuddly giant who we think would do well in a home *without kids* and where he is the only pet, and the owner can commit to clear boundary-setting and training for him. Details: - Currently living in NW Hills, in Austin - Male Great Pyrenees mix - 10-months-old - Was surrendered to Austin Animal Shelter in September, adopted by us 10 days ago - Not neutered - Up-to-date on all shots but will need LEPTO and rattlesnake vaccine booster - Recently got monthly dose of Heartgard/Nexgard - Not particularly treat or food motivated, but is a resource guarder While Willett has no history of aggression, he exhibited some early signs of resource guarding with our toddler (a quiet growl on two occasions). After speaking with four different trainers, we unfortunately came to the conclusion that he will not do well in our household with small children (2-year-old a

Story
Bella spent most of her life in Arizona with a loving home. Only for the last few years her previous owner became unable to care for her and she spent some time homeless in Austin, Texas where she was found by myself and my partner. She loves our dogs, our cat, and three kids all living with us. For her age she is spry and still plays with our youngest like she is a puppy. She likes to act like a guard dog, laying in the doorway of whatever room the humans are in. She is very affectionate and will always greet you at the door with a big smile!
