Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. When we saw so many dogs in need, over 100 Pyrs in a hoarding case in NM, we wanted to help. Apollo was the worst case of Lupus out of the boys. Had lived on a chain his whole life. This beautiful, sweet and gentle boy has been in his foster home for several weeks now and has made so much progress! His foster family has learned so much about him.  Apollo is a quiet, for a Pyr, gentle soul. He definitely prefers women, his foster mom is his favorite and who he is the most comfortable around. Other family members are ok but she is the one who gets the snuggles and loves! Apollo lives next door to several neighbor dogs. It has taken him a while to get used to them barking at him, and some he is still afraid of. So this sweet guy needs to be in a home where even the neighbor dogs are friendly towards him.  He is totally house trained, has been from the moment he got to his foster! He is also a dream on a leash! Apollo is respectful around kiddos but they are a bit overwhelming for him. So a home with older kiddos or none would be preferred.  He also really might enjoy a nice, calm, confident female doggo to play with. He's had a couple of play dates and he's really come out of his shell! Apollo needs a patient forever home, where he can continue to progress at his own pace, with a family who understands dogs from hoarding situations can take time.  Apollo is being fostered in Utah.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2026, 1:51 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Cinnamon's family was moving across the country and she and her Pyr brother Zeus needed new homes asap! Zeus found a family but Cinnamon wasn't able to go with him. Luckily one of our wonderful fosters stepped up and we were able to welcome this adorable little girl into rescue! Cinnamon is wonderful with all other dogs but may need just a minute to warm up. She loves people and is great with kids too. She has been known to chase cats. She is learning what it means to be a house dog and she's doing great! This little girl needs to be spayed and then she will be ready to be a wonderful addition to any family! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Imagine living with a prong collar almost embedded into your neck, being stuck on a tie out outside 24/7. Your best friend is a male Pyr and he's hit by a car and killed. In your grief and confusion you manage to break free and go look for your companion. While out you encounter a few dogs and get into scuffles. Owners are upset and want you euthanized, and your owner decides she doesn't want to deal with the mess of it all and surrenders you to the shelter to be euthanized. This was what lead to Lucy coming to rescue.  Lucy had been living with the biggest most chill foster brother ever but at times she made it known she might prefer a bit more space. So she moved to an only dog foster home in NV. But it might be that's not her perfect home either. Only dog yes! Or maybe a chill male but with lots of room to have her own space.  Currently Lucy doesn't have a yard and we think she is telling us she needs one. More outdoor time and less heat too, so she'd like to move north! Do you get snow? Live on a bit of acreage? Maybe Lucy is right for you!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 15, 2026, 11:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet old girl Dakota, Kota, isn't the first to have her family split up. She found herself losing her home and not much time to find a new one. Thankfully her mom has been able to take her into her apartment with her but she feels Kota is very stressed there, so we're looking for a nice retirement home with a yard for this sweet senior. Kota is currently living with a female dog and doing great! She does like her space when she eats so feeding separately is a must for Kota.  She has been known to be a bit protective when meeting new people and new animals at her home but for her recent trip to the vet and groomer she was absolutely perfect with everyone! Kota is looking for a nice retirement home, somewhere she can come and go from indoors to outside as she pleases and just enjoy her golden years. She is spayed and UTD, being fostered in northern Utah and waiting for just the right home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 15, 2026, 11:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Many of the dogs who come to rescue have had a hard life. Coco is only three, but has already spent way too much time living on her own and suffering. We don't know if she was dumped or lost, abandoned intentionally. Whatever the case, this young girl has been through a lot.  She found her first foster mom by wandering onto her property, and that saved her life. Emaciated and starving, her coat missing fur.  It's been almost a year now since Coco came to GPRRUM and she is ready for her very own family! She is healthy and the absolute sweetest girl. Coco has never met a dog she hasn't loved! In fact she needs another dog in the home or she gets a little down.  She has visited senior centers and been the gentlest of girls. She loves people and is good with respectful kiddos.  She is now house trained but still enjoys plenty of outside time! Coco needs a cat free home and she is not ok with chickens either! She is currently being fostered in Northern Utah.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 15, 2026, 11:09 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Stryker, known as Ryker to his foster mom, is another of the sweet boys from the hoarding situation out of NM.  This sweet boy has done wonderfully well in his foster home in ID. He's spent the last several weeks getting healthy, gaining confidence and coming out of his shell! Ryker has been living with a female dog and loves to play with her, he learned to play with another dog! He is living with cats, which is still a work in progress but he's doing ok.  Like the other boys, he lived on a chain and because of that he is great on a leash to walk.  When we took Ryker and the other dogs they were said to have Lupus, that's why their noses were so sore. But it may actually be photosensitive dermatitis. Either way they are all being treated and their cute little noses are looking better and better every day! Ryker has found his bark over the last few weeks and is definitely living up to being a Pyr! His foster mom says he is a great couch potato, super smart and has a wonderful disposition.  He is not comfortable around young kiddos, he's actually quite scared of them so a home with older kiddos or none is preferred for him.  Ryker is a pro at the doggy door, totally house trained and ready to move on to his forever home. A family who understands dogs from hoarding situations do take time and often have quirks that other dogs may not have is a must. Ryker is being fostered in ID.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2026, 2:36 pm
