Story
Meet Andre – The Big, Goofy Lovebug You’ve Been Waiting For!Andre is a 105-pound 7 year old Great Pyrenees/Husky mix with a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. At his core, he’s a goofy, cuddly, attention-loving boy who just wants to be near his people—whether that’s following you from room to room or flopping over for belly rubs (all four paws in the air, of course!).Andre has excellent house manners and is both house-trained and crate-trained—just say “kennel” and he happily heads to his favorite cozy spot. He knows commands like sit, down, and place, and is very treat-motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. While he’s generally low-energy around the house, Andre does have bursts of excitement—especially on walks or when something catches his attention. He’s currently working on leash manners, as he can pull when excited, but he’s making progress. He enjoys daily walks, playing tug with his rope toy, and batting around his favorite “fishing pole” toy.Andre is good with cats and does well with children. With people, he may take a moment to warm up, but a treat quickly wins him over. He can get vocal when he sees or hears something outside, and may bark when visitors arrive, but he responds well to guidance and settling cues. He’s not the best fit for dog parks or high-energy dog interactions, as he can get overwhelmed and unsure how to channel his excitement. However, with the right match and introductions, he may be able to live with another calm pet. What makes Andre truly special is his lovable, slightly goofy charm. He’s been known to stop people in their tracks just to admire how handsome he is—and once you meet him, you’ll understand why. He gives the best “side eye,” loves a good sniff of anything new in the house, and will happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to give.Andre would do best in a home that can provide structure, patience, and continued guidance—especially around managing his excitement. A yard and a family who can help him feel secure and understood would be ideal. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and entertaining companion who will keep you smiling every day, Andre is ready to be your new best friend. All CAWS pets are fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Andre’s adoption fee is $200. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis—we focus on finding the perfect match for each animal.Ready for big love from an even bigger heart?Apply to adopt Andre here: http://caws.org/adoption-application If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationMarch 21, 2026, 8:12 am

Story
Luna is a great dog. She’s super sweet and loves being petted and all kinds of attention. She’s 7.5 years old, we’ve had her since she was about 1.5 years old. Her breeder was abusive and neglectful and she was rescued by a family that couldn’t keep her, so she found her way to us. She’s been amazing for my mental health, which was the reason we originally got her. She is spayed and has no health issues. There are a few reasons we need to rehome her. First, our son is showing signs of asthma and the dust and fur she naturally brings into our home don’t make it any better. Also, our family has grown in the years that we’ve had her, and that means we’ve grown busier. My job is busier and my spouse is getting a graduate degree and, combined with kids activities, Luna just isn’t getting the time and attention she deserves. Because of this, she’s acted out a little with barking more, getting protective of her food, and being slightly less patient with kids (warning growls mostly).

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mia's situation is one we hear far too often these days, her family could not find a place to live where she could come too. She is temporarily living with extended family but that is not a long-term arrangement and so Mia is looking for a family who will commit to her, for forever! Mia is a Pyr/Border Collie mix but isn't as high energy as you might expect. She does enjoy a nice hike on the weekends but is also a great couch potato and cuddler! Mia doesn't have much experience with cats but hasn't met a dog she isn't instant friends with! She's a dog park regular and another dog to play with in the home is really a must for her. Mia is sometimes a little slow to warm up to new people, especially men. But just give her a minute or two and you'll soon be good friends. She would love a fenced yard but she's also used to just leashed walks too. She's a good girl when left alone inside.  Mia hasn't ever lived with kiddos but has occasionally been around a few littles and done fine. Respectful kids should be fine with her.  This sweet girl is waiting for her new family in Southern Utah. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 12, 2026, 4:54 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Stryker, known as Ryker to his foster mom, is another of the sweet boys from the hoarding situation out of NM.  This sweet boy has done wonderfully well in his foster home in ID. He's spent the last several weeks getting healthy, gaining confidence and coming out of his shell! Ryker has been living with a female dog and loves to play with her, he learned to play with another dog! He is living with cats, which is still a work in progress but he's doing ok.  Like the other boys, he lived on a chain and because of that he is great on a leash to walk.  When we took Ryker and the other dogs they were said to have Lupus, that's why their noses were so sore. But it may actually be photosensitive dermatitis. Either way they are all being treated and their cute little noses are looking better and better every day! Ryker has found his bark over the last few weeks and is definitely living up to being a Pyr! His foster mom says he is a great couch potato, super smart and has a wonderful disposition.  He is not comfortable around young kiddos, he's actually quite scared of them so a home with older kiddos or none is preferred for him.  Ryker is a pro at the doggy door, totally house trained and ready to move on to his forever home. A family who understands dogs from hoarding situations do take time and often have quirks that other dogs may not have is a must. Ryker is being fostered in ID.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2026, 2:36 pm
