Story
Sierra is a lovely Great Pyrenees mix with an equally lovely personality. She came to us with one puppy and proved herself to be a fine mama dog. She's 4 years old and came into our rescue thin at about 50 to 60 pounds; however, she'll mature to 70 pounds or more. Sierra loves other dogs and is very calm. Typically, she likes to lounge around and watch the world go by. A sweet girl who loves affection, she's great to have around. (posted 11/15/25, ME) NO CATS, PLEASE. Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **January 6, 2026, 2:37 pm

What a fine boy Thomas is! A Great Pyrenees mix, he presently weighs 60 to 70 pounds but will mature to around 80 to 90. (He came to us very skinny. Poor Dear!) Three years old, Thomas is described as very sweet, attentive, calm yet playful. Clearly he's a great boy who would be a fine addition to your family! Story
Meet Billie, a little mystery girl with big paws and an even bigger heart. Her mom is 100% Great Pyrenees and we don't know who Dad was.  Billie is just 8 weeks old (as of December 14) and already showing signs of becoming a gentle giant. With her soft, short coat and soulful expressions, she has a way of melting hearts instantly—even the Grinch wouldn’t stand a chance.  Billie is a happy, affectionate puppy who loves life and everyone in it. She’s playful, full of joyful puppy energy, and absolutely adores toys and romping around with her brother. When playtime winds down, Billie is all about hugs and cuddles, soaking up affection like a pro. SHe recently spent an entire day with two five-year-olds and handled it like a true lady—patiently being carried, included in imaginative play, and even going for a ride on a big wheel. Billie’s calm, sweet nature makes her a wonderful candidate for a family with children. Though she’s never met a stranger, Billie can be a little unsure of loud outdoor noises—perfectly normal for a baby her age and something she’ll quickly outgrow as her confidence grows. If you’re ready for puppy kisses, playful zoomies, and the kind of unconditional love only a puppy can give, Billie may be your perfect match.  Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  Ready January 9th 2026       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 26, 2025, 7:01 pm

Story
Meet Dennis, a handsome Great Pyrenees mix puppy with a gentle soul and a quietly confident spirit. Born on October 18th, Dennis is just 8 weeks old as of December 15th and already tipping the scales at 15 pounds—a solid start for a boy who’s sure to grow into a big, beautiful companion. Dennis has a wonderfully independent nature for such a young pup. He likes to keep his people within sight but is perfectly content relaxing or napping on his own, a trait so common in Great Pyrenees dogs. He’s not clingy or demanding—just calmly present and observant, taking in the world around him at his own pace. Curious and adventurous, Dennis loves exploring both the house and the backyard, confidently checking out new spaces and smells. He’s playful and enjoys toys and romping around with his brother, and he’s especially intrigued by his 100-pound foster brother. He very much wants to play—he’s just still figuring out how to interact with someone that big! Dennis is a brave little guy who doesn’t hesitate to try new things. Whether it’s hopping off the couch, stepping down from the deck, or boldly initiating play, he approaches life with quiet confidence. His activity level sits at a comfortable 5/10, making him an easygoing puppy who enjoys playtime but also appreciates downtime. His mom is a pure Great Pyrenees, and while dad is unknown, the entire litter of ten puppies is showing classic Pyr traits—laid-back personalities, thoughtful independence, and calm energy. Potty training has been surprisingly easy at such a young age. Dennis is already learning good habits, and by 12 weeks old, these puppies may be very well on their way to being reliably trained. Of course, accidents can still happen with small bladders, but they’re doing great. The pups are also being introduced to a bell system to signal when they need to go outside, which may be a wonderful tool for achieving early and consistent potty training success. Dennis is going to grow into a large breed boy who will be 65-75 pounds and will shine as a devoted companion who is equal parts gentle, brave, and beautifully independent. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Maggie Moo is the sweetest gentle giant you will ever meet. When she first came to us she was afraid to be touched and had a list of medical needs needing attention.  She has had an awful beginning but now is Fiercely Loved and the happiest most grateful dog you will ever meet. She loves people and he eyes light up everytime she sees her human. She adore kids and is gentle, but is a big girl so might accidentally knock over a tiny human on accident. She is crate trained and house broken but LOVES her people and would love to nap at your feet all day. No small animals she sometimes runs after things that run, but she does redirect easily for her human. She will need a SFH home based on her genes. She does not do well in a townhouse/apartment/condo setting. She is crate trained and will need a place she can decompress when overwhelmed.  Please reach out for more info on this AMAZING dog.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.100% of every adoption fee is used to rescue and care for homeless animals.  Please consider donating to help us more rescue animals. Story
https://foha.org/pet/wally2021/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi there – I'm Wally, a striking Great Pyrenees mix with a soft, fluffy coat and soulful eyes. I’m looking for a special home where I can truly shine. I didn't come to FOHA with a lot of background info, and it seems I may not have spent much time in a traditional home environment. That means things like TVs or loud noises can be a little overwhelming for me at first. I’m part of FOHA’s Diamond Dog program, which means I come with extra support to help my adopter set me up for success! I’d thrive with an experienced owner who understands the independent and protective nature of my breed and is committed to continuing my training and building trust over time. I need a single-dog home in a quiet, adult-only setting—preferably one with a fenced yard and no shared walls (so no apartments or condos, please). My ideal home will be patient, loving, and respectful of my space. HOW AM I WITH DOGS: I need to be the only dog in the home. I’ve shown some reactivity toward certain dogs and do best without canine roommates. HOW AM I WITH CATS: No cats for me, please. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: I need a home without children. Sudden movements and high activity levels can be stressful for me. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: I’m still learning! I may not know many formal commands yet, but I’m eager to bond with my people and would benefit from positive reinforcement training. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I am doing well with housebreaking, and I’m working on being comfortable in a crate. Like many dogs from less traditional backgrounds, structure and routine help me thrive. THINGS I LIKE: Butt scratches (I absolutely love them!) Spending time with my favorite people – especially my FOHA girlfriends and my “mom” Paula Exploring the outdoors – I love to roam and carry my food bowl around the yard Calm, predictable routines THINGS I DISLIKE: Loud noises and fast activity inside the home (like TVs or kids playing) Livestock – I have a strong prey drive and am not safe around farm animals Being crowded by other dogs – I prefer my space Living in busy environments like condos or apartments
