Story
Charlotte is not only a sweetheart but she is very smart. She is happy to join you as you watch tv or play fetch outside. She is very food driven so she learns tricks easily as long as treats are involved. Potty training is coming along nicely and she sleeps through the night. Charlotte will learn your routine in no time and be an amazing family pet. I have truly enjoyed fostering her and she has made it very easy. Shes a big baby that weighs 30 pounds already but she is extremely sweet.  Adoption Day: December 6th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun!  ##2560872##

Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Koda! Koda is about 4 years old and weighs about 88 lbs. We think Koda looks like a Great Pyrenees. Koda is a happy boy who loves to run in the backyard at his foster home. He loves other dogs and does well with all of the many dogs in his foster home both big and small. Koda is good with the resident cat, but the cat puts him in his place. He does bark at the cat but does not chase the cat. Koda loves attention and is happy to lay at your feet and watch you work. Koda is not in a foster home with children. If there are children in Koda's forever home we think he would do best with children 7 years and up. Koda seems house trained and prefers sleeping on the cold ceramic tile in his foster home. Koda would do best in a home where someone is around a good portion of the day as this is what he is used to in his foster home. Koda is NOT an outdoor dog and he is NOT good with farm animals. Koda is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $375.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CK Rescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Kya! Kaya is about 4 years old and weighs about 101 lbs. We think Kya looks like a Great Pyrenees. Want to adopt an amazing dog? Kya is your girl! She JUST ARRIVED so we're still getting to know her. From what we can tell, at this early stage, she's nearly perfect! She's house trained, walks well on the leash & she never met a stranger! Her only downside is that she has a bit of separation anxiety so she likes to keep her human close. Her foster is working on this & hoping to improve her confidence, but it takes time. Kya is super smart & she's starting to show her playful side. She's good with other dogs but we haven't had a chance to cat test her yet. If there are children in Kya's forever home we think she would do best with children 5 years and up. Kya is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Story
https://foha.org/pet/wally2021/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi there – I'm Wally, a striking Great Pyrenees mix with a soft, fluffy coat and soulful eyes. I’m looking for a special home where I can truly shine. I didn't come to FOHA with a lot of background info, and it seems I may not have spent much time in a traditional home environment. That means things like TVs or loud noises can be a little overwhelming for me at first. I’m part of FOHA’s Diamond Dog program, which means I come with extra support to help my adopter set me up for success! I’d thrive with an experienced owner who understands the independent and protective nature of my breed and is committed to continuing my training and building trust over time. I need a single-dog home in a quiet, adult-only setting—preferably one with a fenced yard and no shared walls (so no apartments or condos, please). My ideal home will be patient, loving, and respectful of my space. HOW AM I WITH DOGS: I need to be the only dog in the home. I’ve shown some reactivity toward certain dogs and do best without canine roommates. HOW AM I WITH CATS: No cats for me, please. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: I need a home without children. Sudden movements and high activity levels can be stressful for me. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: I’m still learning! I may not know many formal commands yet, but I’m eager to bond with my people and would benefit from positive reinforcement training. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I am doing well with housebreaking, and I’m working on being comfortable in a crate. Like many dogs from less traditional backgrounds, structure and routine help me thrive. THINGS I LIKE: Butt scratches (I absolutely love them!) Spending time with my favorite people – especially my FOHA girlfriends and my “mom” Paula Exploring the outdoors – I love to roam and carry my food bowl around the yard Calm, predictable routines THINGS I DISLIKE: Loud noises and fast activity inside the home (like TVs or kids playing) Livestock – I have a strong prey drive and am not safe around farm animals Being crowded by other dogs – I prefer my space Living in busy environments like condos or apartments

Story
When HART first rescued Newton, this gorgeous boy was very shy. Since being in a loving foster home, he has shown significant improvement! He is less shy when meeting new people, and after proper introduction, he seeks out chin scratches and belly rubs. Newton has enjoyed running in the backyard, chasing a ball, and he will certainly need a secure, fenced yard to safely explore and get his zoomies. Newton is house trained, sleeps well at night in his kennel, does not have separation anxiety, occasionally barks but settles down, takes treats gently, and knows basic commands to include "sit", "stay", "wait" and knows to wait for "yes" and "OK" before proceeding. He walks well on a leash particularly in the neighborhood and on trails but needs additional training to prevent occasional pulling. He sheds his gorgeous coat once a year and fortunately loves to be brushed with a wire brush to keep it under control. He gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction and would benefit from having another confident dog in the home. Newton is not at all aggressive and responds to scary or new situations by backing away so he can get comfortable on his own terms. As he continues to overcome his shyness, he has shown that he is eager to explore, have new experiences, and meet new people. Newton is looking for a family that will continue with his training and socialization to ensure he will reach his potential. Inquire about meeting Newton because it will be love at first sight!
