Story
JW Blondie R 30C, L 74526Hi, I’m Blondie! I believe in early mornings, staring intently at squirrels or bunnies, and being a strong independent lady. But I also love socializing with people and other dogs, going on car rides, and playing with toys. While I will cheerfully follow you around the house, I am also happy to spend time on my own. I have been described as doing a “goofy dance” when I get excited, but that’s honestly a little bit rude–can I help it if my enthusiasm gets the better of my natural grace and elegance? Speaking of grace and elegance, I prefer not to jump or climb up on things, as it’s just so awkward for everyone involved. That being said, I am not scared of shiny floors and I do pretty good with stairs. I walk on a leash like the elegant lady I am, do all my business like the champion I am…unless something really interesting catches my attention and then I have to stand and S T A R E at it. Maybe even pull a tiny little bit. But honestly can you blame me? Do you think I would be a great addition to your home? Story
Parisienne Art , L VLJOUHi, I’m Piper! I love lying outside, if my beloved couch could be outside, that would be ideal. I have a tendency to lean on everyone. If you are petting me, I will lean on you. Pupdate time: I am now cat trainable! Indoor cats are just fine, with a little training. I am respectful of their boundaries, because that’s how healthy relationships work. Outdoor cats, however, look just like bunnies and I am not to be trusted. Look lively outdoor cats! I get along with all dogs, big and small! I indicate my desire to play with vocal cues, so I will bark and growl to initiate play, and also while playing, but I don't show any signs of aggression, I just love to run around! Noisily! I would rather not be alone for too long. I can be in my kennel if you are gone for a long time, but short outings are preferable. I am okay on my own, but I’ll hide your slippers in revenge. I supposedly need some basic training (rude). Story
KW Bonnie Parker, R 59B, L 73620Hi, I’m Bonnie Parker! Don’t let the fact that I’m named for a notorious criminal fool you, I’m really a nice, gentle girl! I love squeaky toys, walks, being outside, being with people, and ear scratches. In fact I love ear scratches so much that I will do a little moany purr when you hit that perfect spot! I am very friendly and happily accept love and pets from everyone I meet, especially if they know the magic ear scratch trick! I am currently living with another greyhound and a cat, and I like both of them just fine. I am curious about the neighbor dog, but we have not been formally introduced; I have also not really interacted with any dogs smaller than myself. I do have VERY STRONG OPINIONS about thunder: it is bad and I will bark at it! This is not always appreciated (rude) but I will stop after being reassured that everything is ok. Along those lines, it has been suggested that I might need some basic obedience training (rude, again), but I think I am perfect as I am. Do you think I would be a great addition to your home? Superior Tuvia, R 88J, L 72853Hi, I’m Tuvia! I love people–including children!–and also snuggles, scratches, water, and other dogs! I am friendly and have a sweet personality, but don’t let that fool you when it comes to pills: I absolutely REFUSE to take any kind of yucko pill, even the so-called “chewable” ones. Gross. I love being close to people, and will give kisses if you let me (please let me!), and have even been known to try and sneak into the neighbor’s house when we pass it on walks so their kids can love me up. I like other dogs, except for the ones that bark at me or are aggressive–those ones make me nervous. While I could use a tiny bit more confidence on stairs or those dang slippery floors, my foster family is sure that I will learn to master them with practice and patience. I’ve been told that I have a golden retriever personality, and I am looking forward to living my best retired life SO MUCH! Do you think I would be a great addition to your home? Story
Loyal Lolita, R 103E, L 75842Hi, I’m Lolita! I love my humans, stealing shoes, tossing toys in the air, soft places to lay, outdoor zooms, snacks, and scritches on my head, chin, and ears! I have a natural curiosity, a tongue that falls out of the side of my mouth, the sweetest eyes, some leftover puppy energy, and a strong desire to be near my humans AT ALL TIMES. If I can’t see you, I will cry (they say I howl, I say that’s a cruel exaggeration). I would also really rather not be kenneled, or even be confined by a baby gate. I was born to roam freely in my house, baby. Is this charming velcro dog behavior or an unhealthy codependency? Why not both? I can do stairs like a champ, find children to be very interesting, and like walks as long as we’re walking the direction I want to go. Or unless I see a squirrel, because I NEED TO GET IT. Sometimes I can be a little possessive of the sofa, so I am not allowed on it until I learn manners and “how to share family resources responsibly.” Do you think I would be a great addition to your home? Story
TS Colby Chaos, R 12E, L 75145 Hi I’m Colby! I am a very sweet, fun, joyful, silly, and above all handsome boy looking for my forever home. I love going on walks, exploring all the sights, sounds, and smells. Sometimes I get so excited that I freeze, so patience and lots of treats are a must! I also love zooming in a fenced yard, or loungin’ in the sun being a nosy neighbor. I also really like car rides–I’m great at getting in and out of the car! While I prefer to sleep on my own, all by myself, I love asking for cuddles when I’m awake–tummy rubs, butt scritches, I love it all! In fact, sometimes I will even engage in “nitting” or “cobbing,” giving gentle little nibbles to show how happy and content I am! I’m good on stairs, but still practicing on slick floors (don’t think I haven’t noticed those rugs being removed!), but we all need something to keep us humble. I’m completely trustworthy at home, so I am not kenneled when my foster family leaves. I have full access to the kitchen and living room so I can be comfy.
