Story
Harry is a 3 yo retired racer from Australia. He barks with an Australian accent and thinks “shrimp on the barbee” jokes are funny. Harry’s Likes: Playing with toys, walks, car rides, hugs, ear rubs, other dogs, kids, grownups, outside, inside, naps, zoomies, stealing toilet paper, but mostly he likes life. Harry is a house-trained boy who walks nicely on a leash and shows no food aggression. He’s quiet unless he’s playing. He is patient and tolerant with nail trims and baths. Harry does well with other big dogs and also smaller dogs (15 lbs+) with big attitudes. Harry may be cat-trainable with patience and experience. He is happy, silly, and loves to be snuggled. Per Harry, “I’ll be happiest in a home with a dog who will play with me! I’d like a human kid or two, and I really need a fenced yard to run around in. I love to get in the car, even though I always fall asleep. I need lots of snoot kisses and ear rubs.” Harry deserves the very best home, because he is the very best boy. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1248937289334950 https://www.facebook.com/reel/737895911255708 Available for adoption in Western, Washington

Pixie is a newly retired racer from Melbourne, Australia. She has a very cute accent. She loves to travel and ride in the car. That helped her get chosen to make the jet setting flight from Australia. She is a happy girl that takes everything in stride and enjoys it all. Cuddling is something she seeks and could live as an only dog Toys... What can we say other than she loves, loves, loves a good squeaky or stuffy toy! She would love to have a spot on your couch and your love! Contact her friends at Royal Hounds and fill out an application! https://www.facebook.com/RoyalHoundsGreyhoundAdoption A fenced yard is required. Available for adoption in Western Washington.

Story
Hi, my name is Pool! I'm a retired racer who loves long walks, neck scratches, and hanging out with people. Like many black greyhounds, I'm prematurely grey but don't let that fool you. I am very active, and would like a forever home that will take me on daily walks or at least a few times a week. I have a raincoat and I am ready to go rain, snow or shine. I was an amazing racer, and my track name was Deadpool. I miss it sometimes, and get excited when I see squirrels, rabbits or other small, bouncy animals. Don't worry, if I'm on lead I know to listen to my people and I will behave, but I wouldn't do well with cats and some small dogs because I like to chase. I have lived alone and with other greyhounds. I like attention, but I also know how to share and take turns. I do need a little time to build trust with people and other dogs, and I will let you know with a little grumble. I'm pretty talkative when I want something, and can sound like a grumpy old man when I need to go out and do my business. Don't worry, you'll get used to it and maybe even over time find it charming. If you can't adopt me, would you consider making a donation to help feed and care for me and other fosters? Maybe $5 for treats, $10 for a new stuffy or $50 for a bag of dog food. Any amount helps keep us all happy and healthy as we wait for the right forever home. Please go here to donate or learn more about me and other fosters on the Royal Hounds website. Story
Hola!! Como esta usted? Oh excuuuuuuse me...I wasn't trying to be a show off with my bilingual capabilities! I am an athletic little lady from Central America!! After all of the years of running in the mountains and climbing the volcanoes of Guatemala, my ancestors have bequeathed to me superior genetics for strength and stamina!! I love to run and would make a great companion for an active individual or family that loves to hike and run!! Are you training for a 5K and need a running companion? I am your gal!! Are you and your family out hiking and exploring on the weekends? Again, you need to look no further for canine companionship! Agility training wouldn't even be fair for the other dogs in my class!! Most definitely top of my class!! But, wait, there's more!! I also enjoy sitting on the couch and watching TV with my Hoomans :) Nothing better than a belly rub and an ear scratch after a fun day of activities:) I am not overly hyper, anxious, or high strung about my running, I just enjoy it and also enjoy my time with my family!! Sleeping on my orthopedic dog bed under the fan in the bedroom sure beats the volcanic rock of my youth! Just a little about my youth; I was born on the side of a volcano in Guatemala. I learned to survive from my Mama by politely waiting for the pizza crusts given to us by touristas from their lunches. These pizzas are actually cooked by the heat from the volcano!! Anyway, I digress. When I was about 11 months old, I found myself with a litter of puppies to raise!! I couldn't leave my puppies to follow the touristas up the volcano, so life was very hard for us at the bottom of the mountain. One day, a lady from Hay Dude Rescue came to hike the volcano with her family. I introduced myself by doing my "good dog" tricks; sit, shake hands, and don't jump up!! Through lots of red tape (including quarantine) we found ourselves at the Houston airport!! God Bless America!! We are so grateful to be here and for the love, food , and care that we receive...and it shows in our faces and our appreciative attitudes. At 18 months young and 35 svelte pounds, I am in the prime of my l life and am seeking my permanent Hooman family. I get along great with all people and dogs; with my superior intelligence, I would be a very capable therapy or family dog. I am joy filled at every aspect of life and communicate that joy through my loving nature and accommodating personality. My clear, bright eyes sparkle with intelligence and understanding; Foster Madre says I just "get it"..whatever that means!! I understand a lot of human speak and pay attention to my people and surroundings. I am friendly and outgoing with everyone that I meet. No bad manners and jumping on folks; I am a "good dog" and know how to behave myself. My breeding is most likely Greyhound (giving me my awesome ears and running capabilities) and Labrador, giving me my fun loving and happy-go-lucky personality. If you are looking for an intelligent, fun loving and funny companion, pick me!!
