Story
Hi, my name is Pool! I'm a retired racer who loves long walks, neck scratches, and hanging out with people. Like many black greyhounds, I'm prematurely grey but don't let that fool you. I am very active, and would like a forever home that will take me on daily walks or at least a few times a week. I have a raincoat and I am ready to go rain, snow or shine. I was an amazing racer, and my track name was Deadpool. I miss it sometimes, and get excited when I see squirrels, rabbits or other small, bouncy animals. Don't worry, if I'm on lead I know to listen to my people and I will behave, but I wouldn't do well with cats and some small dogs because I like to chase. I have lived alone and with other greyhounds. I like attention, but I also know how to share and take turns. I do need a little time to build trust with people and other dogs, and I will let you know with a little grumble. I'm pretty talkative when I want something, and can sound like a grumpy old man when I need to go out and do my business. Don't worry, you'll get used to it and maybe even over time find it charming. If you can't adopt me, would you consider making a donation to help feed and care for me and other fosters? Maybe $5 for treats, $10 for a new stuffy or $50 for a bag of dog food. Any amount helps keep us all happy and healthy as we wait for the right forever home. Please go here to donate or learn more about me and other fosters on the Royal Hounds website. Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Popcorn - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My creamy yellow over white coat is just like popcorn covered in delicious butter, hence the name Popcorn. At my young age popping around exploring everywhere is one of my favoritest things to do and with my buttery coating I'm much more delectable than your plain ole white popcorn pup!! I have some black color around my one eye but that's just where some of my kernels got stuck too close to the heat for too long!!! At around 8 months old I'm still very much a puppy. I'm still a little spongy...soaking up everything, and am at that great age where I'd make a great candidate for some obedience classes or maybe even some fun ones like agility! I'm game to give them all a try if you want to try them with me! I am super sweet, active and playful. I love people both tall and small and I'm good with other dogs, although we're not sure if I've ever met a cat. I would do great with another playful sibling of either the 2 or 4 legged variety or be just as happy getting all your attention as your one and only. Did you also know that I'm about at my adult weight of 45-50ish lbs and will be at a great size to share in all your adventures. I'd make a great neighborhood stroll taking pawtner, hiking/camping cohort and/or a river excursion companion. You want to do it, I'll be right there to try it out too! And the bestest part is when we're done having all our fun we get to have cuddle time! And at that pawfect mediumish size, I'm not too big to fit those cuddles in!! As with your typical pup, I'm playful and curious about everything. I'll need daily exercise and playtime, but with that in I should do great in town with a yard, out in the country or anywhere in between. This lil spongey stud muffin is ready for my very own home, could I possibly have YOU as my family?!!

Story
Duchess and her brother were purchased as a puppy by an elderly woman, who unfortunately fell victim to dementia. The two siblings had no one to take care of and were often found roaming the streets in search of food. Finally, the brother died. His frail body could not take it anymore. Duchess was left to fend for herself, until she found a loving foster home and SSS rescued her. Duchess is 11 years old Afghan Hound, who is about 45 lb, current on her shots, heartworm negative and now being kept on heartworm and flea preventative. She is also spayed and microchipped. It is evident that she was very well taken care of until her former owner's health started declining. She is very social and thrives on human attention. She doesn’t jump up onto people. She loves to cuddle. She’s regal and she carries herself that way. She is very loving, and considers herself a lap dog. She quietly lays next to or on her foster mom, while she works on her computer. Despite being 11, she is very playful with her toddler human sister, and also loves to run around their yard. Although she lives with dogs and cats in her current foster home, we prefer her going to a home without any other pet, to minimize her stress and get her the full attention and affection that she deserves Duchess is not only potty trained but also crate trained, making her a well-behaved and low-maintenance companion. She is eager to please and is very obedient. Duchess is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet this sweet girl via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com
