Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💥🐾 Meet Maggie — Your New Adventure Buddy in a Wiggle-Suit! 🐾💥 (1 Year • 50lbs • Joy Distributor) If you’ve been waiting for a dog who can keep up with your adventures, make you laugh daily, and snuggle like it’s her full-time job… Maggie has entered the chat. This 1-year-old 50ish lb Greyhound/Catahoula mix (best guess) is a perfect combo of fun-loving energy and melt-your-heart sweetness. She’s the type of girl who will chase a ball like she’s training for the Fetch Olympics, then flop dramatically across your lap like she hasn’t played in decades. Maggie is friendly, social, and absolutely adores people and other dogs — she’s the life of the party AND the cuddle session. Kids? She loves them too! Cats? Still a mystery, but she’s young enough that with a proper intro, things could go just fine. 🏆 Maggie’s Special Skills Include: • Being the first one to the door when adventure calls • Wiggling so hard her whole body participates • Making new dog friends everywhere she goes • Believing fetch is a legally binding contract • Switching from turbo mode to snuggle mode in 0.2 seconds • Giving big, soulful “love me forever” eyes She’s kennel trained, housebroken, and ready to slide right into your family’s routine without missing a beat. Whether it’s walks, hikes, backyard zoomies, Netflix marathons, snack-sharing, or bedtime snuggles — Maggie is 110% in. This sweet girl is currently with one of our rescue partners. We work together like a well-oiled life-saving machine, and we’ll gladly pull her into Hay Dude Rescue to complete her adoption once her forever family says, “That’s our girl!” 🌟 Quick Stats: • 1-year-old • Friendly, playful, energetic, and affectionate • Great with dogs + kids • Cats unknown • Kennel trained + housebroken • Adventure buddy by day — cuddlebug by night If you want a dog who brings joy, laughter, loyalty, and non-stop tail wags into your life, Maggie is ready to pack her bags (okay, her favorite toy) and join your family. 👉 Apply at haydudeequine.org — let Maggie turn every day into an adventure and every moment into a memory. 💛🐾

Please contact Greyhound Pets, Inc. The GPI kennel attendants give Pandora an “A+” at keeping her kennel tidy and she hasn’t shown to be much of a barker.  Pandora is very bright, and is an eager pupil who likes to learn. As much as Pandora adores people,  she cannot live with cats or other small animals.  Nor is she really a fan of other dogs, particularly stranger dogs.  While Pandora is cordial to the other dogs at GPI and can tolerate walks with sighthounds or other dogs to whom she has been properly introduced, she is reactive to dogs who are strangers.  Pandora’s trainer has made huge strides in reducing/controlling her reactivity when she encounters strange dogs in the world outside of GPI. We think Pandora’s reactivity will continue to improve with her new family if they will commit to a regular desensitization practice.  Pandora’s adoption includes four one-hour private training sessions with her professional trainer who will show her new family how to handle and lessen her dog reactivity. Her family can be quiet or busy, and possibly have older, dog-savvy kids.   But because of her size and strength her family should have no little children.  Pandora’s home needs to be with an experienced dog owner in a quiet area with a large, fenced yard in which to play and lounge.  She is not suited for life where she will have chance encounters with strange dogs in close quarters.  Thus Pandora should not be in a densely populated situation like an apartment/condo/townhome, an urban area, or another closely packed area (e.g., farmers market, dog friendly pub, and pet store). That said, Pandora will be a great companion for hiking in lesser frequented areas, camping, and other unpopulated outdoor adventures. She loves walks and has nice leash manners when there are no stranger dogs nearby. At first, I might seem like the quiet, shy type—you know, the one hanging back at the party, checking things out. But give me just a little time, and SURPRISE! My fun-loving side bursts out, and suddenly I’m the life of the party. Sweet, fuzzy, bouncy, and oh-so-playful—that’s the real me. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!I’ve got a big heart, and all I really want is to be noticed for who I am: a pup who’s sensitive on the outside, but goofy and strong on the inside. Once you spend a little time with me, I’ll show you how excited I get to hang out, train, and share adventures. I love having doggy pals too—especially the ones who enjoy the same playful, rough-and-tumble style I do. (Think: tag, chase, silly zoomies—the good stuff!)The best part? I’m not non-stop. I love my couch time just as much as I love my playtime. After a good game or some training fun, nothing makes me happier than curling up next to you to relax. So here’s the deal: I need a home with no cats (they’re just too interesting), no small dogs (I might accidentally overwhelm them), and a secure fenced yard where I can run, romp, and then flop. With me, you’ll get the best of both worlds—a pup who can keep up with your adventures and then happily snooze by your side.If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh with her silly antics, cheer you on with her enthusiasm, and melt your heart with her snuggles, that’s me—I’m Lake! He loves gentle pets and a rub down when you return from walks and sometimes he will approach you for gentle pats as well. But generally speaking, he is totally happy to just chill on his dog beds or a rug or pile of clothes and watch you while you go about your day at home. He has been fine being home alone for up to 8 hours. He hasn't had any accidents indoors, nor has he caused any mischief while home alone - no chewing of furniture or stealing food off the counter (at least not yet!). He is always excited to go for a little walk or a car ride. In car rides, he initially would pant a lot and stay standing. More recently, he has cozied up right away on rides and loves to hang out in the back seat, unbothered. He has done well in an apartment (foster home) but keep in mind he likes his space and it would be a good idea to have a few designated spots for him to maintain his comfort zone when he is 'peopled-out'. He easily does stairs and elevator rides. On walks, Ben has the cutest strut! He tires out rather quickly, so he may not be the best hiking buddy. But several daily walks will keep him happy and smiling! His adopters will need to work on making sure he knows he is safe when he sees other dogs as he will whine or even bark to make sure his bubble isn't invaded. Diced up hot dogs have proven to be a great distraction for Ben when he gets nervous on walks. Even though he hasn't had an incident on a walk, his behavior shows he is not comfortable interacting with strangers or other dogs, so someone will need to be willing to patiently conduct ongoing training for safe walks. One other thing to keep in mind with Ben: he does exhibit signs of resource guarding with his food bowl and certain toys. His people will need to patiently work on training Ben to know he is safe when people are nearby his food bowls or himself with a toy or food-filled kong. There are lots of tips and strategies that can be learned and practiced with the help of Ms. Rosyn, the kennel trainer. His foster home has worked on this, and there are signs of improvement, but this is an ongoing learning process for Ben and his adopters to work on.Children make Ben nervous, so he needs a home without children.  He will also need a home without cats or small dogs.Ben is a wonderful companion for someone looking to open their home to this sweet, sleek, walk-enthusiastic boy! She wants to please her people, takes treats gently, and loves to play.We don’t know much about Orla’s life back in Ireland before she came to GPI, besides the fact she broke her leg at some point. This injury appears to have healed very well and does not seem to have had any lasting effect. She is good on leashed walks and doesn’t show on-leash reactivity to other large dogs. Orla would make a great partner for brisk walks as she isn’t one to dawdle or sniff everything on walks - this girl likes to walk fast, lead the way, and keep an eye out for interesting sights! She does well in the car, and loves to look out the car window. She will enter a crate in exchange for a treat.Orla would thrive as an only pet in a home with a securely fenced yard in which she could amuse herself (and you!) with her impressive zoomie skills and her funny, playful nature. She seems more or less indifferent to larger dogs and uninterested in making canine friends.  Orla has a strong prey drive meaning she cannot be placed in a home with smaller animals such as cats and little dogs. Orla is just not suited for life in a densely populated situation such as an apartment/condo/townhome, nor in a busy urban area where she would encounter smaller animals which trigger her prey drive. Even on leash she is not safe in close proximity to little animals.  Orla’s prey drive also manifests in a rather intense interest in stuffed toys, especially the squeaky ones. She loves stuffies so much that she zealously guards and eventually destroys them. Orla thinks it’s fun to snatch things which remind her of toys, so her adopters must be willing to put away or block tempting items (e.g., shoes, coats, purses, toys, pillows) while she learns what is and isn't hers. The good news is GPI’s staff and volunteers are now able to distract Orla during a toy guarding event easily by trading toys for treats or other toys. Orla’s trainers are now working to teach her to disengage from toys without bribing her with treats or other toys. This bribe-free technique does take some patience and may well put some wear and tear on the toy in question! Orla’s new family will need to understand and be willing to work on her issues with toys. Because of her prey drive and toy guarding Orla should live in an adults-only home. Sponsored by Madison Fairweather Sponsored by Tiffany Whitaker in celebration of Charlotte K. Orla is looking for her very own sponsor.  Interested?  More info here:  https://greyhoundpetsinc.org/support/sponsor-a-dog/ Greyhound Pets, Inc. - www.greyhoundpetsinc.org - 877-468-7681 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A GREYHOUND?
