Story
Age: DOB 3/6/24 Weight: 8.5 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes, older considerate kids only Potty trained: Very close, but still has a few accidents Crate trained: Does well left out in the house Irving is a very sweet little toy poodle; Irving is about 18mo old and weights about 8.5lbs. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and has good teeth. He is very shy when you first meet him and will take time to warm up but when he does look out. Irving will need a fenced in yard as he may run and is very shy. He loves to play with toys, people and other dogs. He uses a puppy door to go outside to potty and loves the outside sometimes he doesn't like to come back in unless you go out and get him. Irving is smart, funny and has a foot fetish. He will catch them when you put them up on something and then lets them go. Also, likes to nibble at your ears, neck or your hair but will not bite or hurt you. Irving would be good with shared walls as he rarely barks. He likes to sleep in bed with me and his doggie friends and likes to nap in a puppy bed. Adoption fee: $695

💜 Come meet me at our Adoption Event at Forgotten Star Brewing in Fridley on Saturday, 2/14 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm! 💚 Age: around 3 years old Weight: 13.4lbs Dog friendly: yes, requires another dog in his forever home Cat friendly: yes, cats must be dog savvy Kid friendly: older/considerate kids only Potty trained: yes, on a good schedule Crate trained: yes, does well in the crate when left alone REQUIRED: another dog within the home Henry is a sweet playful pup that is eager to join your crew! He is a non-shedding dog (possibly a mix of Maltese and something else?). This pup is shy at first, but warms up and is then eager to get ear scratches and to be near you while you work, sit or prepare a meal. He will even clean up whatever bits you drop on the floor! While at his foster home he has been around older children and done well with everyone. We don't know for sure how he would do with younger children, but he has only been kind and sweet with all people and animals that he has met. If he is unsure he just backs away and gives people space. He is even kind with cats and other dogs. Henry is a relatively quiet dog. He will bark to be let out or in the house and he will greet you with barking when you return home after being away. He has gotten very good at going into a crate to sleep at night and will occasionally seek his crate to sleep in during the day or to get away from the business of the day. He is food motivated which helps with training and motivation. He is always eager for his next meal. Henry will do well with a family that is patient with him while he warms up to you and your home. He will benefit from having another dog in the home so he can easily learn your routines and norms. He prefers to be out in a fenced yard to play, but will also go on walks. This little pup is eager to find his forever family and to start settling in! Adoption fee: $595

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Sunday, February 15th from 12:00-1:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Veil is a 15&#226&#128&#145pound Havanese with a heart full of sweetness and a surprising amount of zoomie power. She’s a gentle, affectionate girl who loves being close to her person and will happily follow her foster mom from room to room — often beating her to the bathroom just to stay one step ahead. When you sit on the couch, Veil is quick to hop up and join you, settling in for snuggles like it’s her favorite part of the day. She’s playful and full of personality, especially when she gets the zoomies — her foster says she has more zoomies than any dog they’ve ever met. She’s still working on potty training and crate comfort, but she’s eager to please and making progress. She walks on a leash and doesn’t require a fenced yard, though she would absolutely love a safe space to run freely and burn off her bursts of energy. Veil is friendly with adults, good with dogs, and has a gentle, even&#226&#128&#145tempered nature. She can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly with kindness and routine. She’s affectionate, snuggly, and happiest when she’s close to her people. Anyone who meets Veil falls in love with her beautiful big eyes and her sweet, loving spirit. She’s ready for a home that will enjoy her zoomies, her cuddles, and her loyal companionship. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
History and A Note from the Foster: Hi, I’m Teddie! I’m almost 12 years young and on the lookout for a very special adopter—someone who will love me exactly as I am. For the first eight years of my life, I was used only for breeding, and I wasn’t in great shape. But then my foster mom and an amazing rescue stepped in, cleaned me up, and gave me all the care I needed. Four years ago, my last rotten teeth were removed—but don’t worry, I eat everything just fine! Kibble, canned food, crunchy treats… if it’s food, I’m in. Since I have no teeth, my tongue likes to hang out, which everyone says is pretty adorable. When I was first rescued, I was terrified of everything. I’ve come a long way, but I still startle easily—especially since I can’t hear. I’d be happiest in a calm, quiet home where life moves at an easy pace. I’m learning that pets and snuggles are wonderful, but I’m more of a “sit nearby” kind of girl during the day (though at night, I love to snuggle in bed—our little secret!). I’m even starting to warm up to visitors and will sometimes ask for attention, as long as they’re gentle and patient. I’m also making great progress with potty training. I do have a routine—meals first, then #2—so someone who understands my schedule will help me succeed. If you’re kind, patient, and have a big heart for a little dog with a lot of love to give, I just might be your girl. I’m ready to spend my golden years with someone who will cherish me forever. ❤️
