You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    DOB: 4/11/11 Requires another dog in home: Yes (bonded pair with Cosmo) Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Older, gentle children only Weight: 6 pounds Requires a fenced yard: Yes, required Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Hello, my name is Dolly. I am an incredibly beautiful adult female Havanese who is very timid and shy. I am a beautiful girl with the softest coat, just waiting to feel comfortable so I can show you my sweet personality. I need to be adopted with my friend Cosmo. He is a happy friend that has shown me how to trust people and be comfortable in my surroundings. We are a package deal and hope you can find it in your heart to keep us together. I am a very timid girl that doesn’t mind spending time in my bed or a comfy spot watching what is going on in the house. I am fearful of loud noises like commotion and thunderstorms. I’m also very leery of men, children, being touched, picked up or having people near me. I guess it’s fair to say that I’m suspicious of people in general. I have not met any cats, but I do however enjoy spending time with other small doggies like me. We are doing great going outside on a routine, but I have not had a lot of experience with that leash thing so my new home will need to have a fenced yard to keep me safe. It seems there is only one thing missing from my life right now and that is the furever home that I so richly deserve with a patient family who promises to love me unconditionally, not give up on me and who will help me learn to trust. Love, Dolly   *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a   particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hello, my name is Cosmo. I am a very sweet adult male Havanese who loves a wide range of treats! Hint, hint!! I also enjoy running around/exploring a securely fenced yard, saying hello to the strangers that pass by the house, snuggling with my family, and giving them lots of kisses!! Hee, hee!! I don’t like loud noises and I’m slow to warm up to new people but once I do, I’m the best snuggler EVER! I have not met any cats, kids, or larger dogs but I’m good with smaller dogs like me. I know what “outside” and “go potty mean; I am still working on potty training; and I’m ok in the kennel/crate for short periods, but I don’t have any leash experience so my new yard will need to be fenced. I need to be adopted with my friend Dolly. She is a very shy Havanese that needs me to help her learn to trust people and be comfortable. We are a package deal and hope you can find it in your heart to keep us together. I am a very loving boy who is looking for unconditional love, stability, and patience in my own fur-ever home possibly with a canine companion. I promise, I will NEVER give up on you and all I ask is for the same in return! I assure you I’m totally worth it and I will love you bigger than the universe!! Story
Benji's approximate date of birth is March 23, 2020. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has been 4DX tested. His adoption fee is $450.00 + tax. Benji Man is a little dude with a huge personality. He loves to snuggle in laps, he is super excited to go for walks and he is a man who knows what he wants! *As Benji settles in to rescue we are beginning to learn a little more about him. He is a super sweet little guy and loves to snuggle and give cute kisses. He loves to go for walks and will do a high vertical jump/bounce expressing how excited he is. He is very excitable on his walks when he sees squirrels, people, or other dogs. He can pull hard and will bark loud at them. He is kenneled overnight and does ok when the house is quiet. He has had a few accidents in his foster home, so a patient understanding new owner who is ok with working with this will be needed. He has cute zoomies and loves to run around with toys. He has been ok with some dogs and not ok with others and he barks at the cats that he sees, but has not had direct contact with any. We have been told from his previous owner that he is not good with children. It may be fun for Benji to just tell you a little more about who he is! Hi de ho everyone! My name is Benji; Ben Ben; Bouncy Ben; Benji Man. Whatever you wanna call me is fine, I like them all. I think that it's pretty cool to have so many cute names for me. I really like them all and am happy to respond to any. Not to brag, but I am ridiculously adorable! I know; cuz I have been told it so many times so it has to be true. I guess that I am a Lhasa Apso/Dachshund mix.. I have been told that may make me prone to liking to bark at squirrels, but in my defense.. there are so many of them right now! Cats are new to my world, so it may take me a while to have a chance to get used to them. I have liked to bark at the ones in my foster home, but I am getting better though. Maybe a confident cat that stands their ground with dogs may work? Just not sure yet. I have been nervous around dogs that are larger then me and have some sort of of reaction to them that doesn't bring out the best in me. I would have to say that I would not like to go to dog parks to meet strange dogs. They would make me way to uncomfortable and it wouldn't be fair to me to have so many unknown dogs approaching me.. especially if they are my size or larger. I have also not been comfortable around young children. They too, make me nervous. So, enough of the things about me that you might consider not perfect. I am amazing in so many ways that I'm pretty sure that there is someone out there that would think that I am just PERFECT; just the way I am!! I am adorable, cuddly, sweet and love to give cute kisses. I am happy to see you and love being by you. I sleep in a kennel quietly over night but I really think it could be cool if I had a chance to sleep in a bed with my new person and may just snuggle until you chose to start the day. I enjoy to go for walks and I love to explore different things and smells. Remember though, that I am pretty interested in squirrels right now, so keep my leash secured in your hand! I think that my perfect new home would have a securely fenced in yard. If you don't have a fence, understand that I feel that every squirrel needs to be ''inspected', so a secured harness and leash is needed. I don't think I should could to a home with a larger dog unless that dog doesn't scare me. I really just want someone to love me and help me with being the best companion that I can be. I promise to give you all the snuggles and kisses in return! If you think I could be your perfect companion; or if you would be interested in meeting me, please complete an adoption application at: www.savingtails.org Saving Tails Animal Rescue (STAR) is a 501(c)3 registered no-kill, non profit animal rescue. All animals are placed in loving foster homes until their forever family finds them. Because there is not a physical shelter location, foster homes are needed to help rescue local animals who are in danger of euthanasia. If you would be interested interested in fostering an animal in need; please complete an application at www.savingtails.orgApril 29, 2024, 12:01 am
