Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hibiscus is a tiny Havanese/Maltese mix with the sweetest eyes and the gentlest heart. She is a soft, loving little girl who is just beginning to learn what it means to feel safe, loved, and carefree—and watching her confidence grow is something truly special. Once Hibiscus feels comfortable in her home, she loves to stay close to her person. She will happily follow you from room to room, curl up right beside you, and melt into cuddles when held close. She adores soft treats, catches on to routines quickly, and finds so much comfort in the people and dogs she trusts. Because Hibiscus is such a small and delicate girl, loud noises, thunderstorms, quick movements, and overwhelming commotion can make her nervous. The good news is that she takes wonderful cues from calm, confident canine friends and recovers quickly when she sees they are not worried. For that reason, Hibiscus will need another small, friendly, confident dog in her forever home to help guide her, reassure her, and continue showing her the ropes. She does best with dogs closer to her own size rather than large dogs. She is still working on potty training but is making great progress when kept on a consistent schedule. Hibiscus is not yet leash trained and tends to freeze on a leash, so she will require a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and build confidence. Hibiscus is also suspected to have IBD, which is currently being managed successfully with a low-fat diet. She does not require medication at his time, just a family committed to keeping her on the food that helps her feel her best. Hibiscus is shy at first and can be unsure in unfamiliar situations, but once she feels safe, her loving nature shines. She is even starting to discover toys and “dog things,” and with time and encouragement, we know her playful personality will continue to blossom. Hibiscus would do best in a calm, patient home with people who will let her open up at her own pace and cherish the gentle soul she is. With a soft bed, kind hearts, and a canine buddy by her side, Hibiscus will blossom into the most devoted little companion. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Meet Wilson, a Havanese born approx 4/5/23! He also knows the name Bruno. He is a sweet little boy with good character and a beautiful coat.  Wilson is house-trained and does really well when riding in the car.  He has not been around cats or children.  He gets along great with multiple dogs in the home ( medium to small sizes).  Loves to run in a fenced yard.  Not high energy but on the lower end of medium energy level.  Have not walked him yet, but he is not opposed to a leash.  Eats well if you put a little something scrumptious on it. Takes his meds great (helps with some anxiety) and behaves when people come to visit.  He does take medicine to keep the seizures away.  Just a great little guy and wonderful little boy who would make a wonderful addition to a quieter family. He will be your best friend! Age: DOB 3/6/24 Weight: 8.5 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes, older considerate kids only Potty trained: Very close, but still has a few accidents Crate trained: Does well left out in the house Irving is a very sweet little toy poodle; Irving is about 18mo old and weights about 8.5lbs. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and has good teeth. He is very shy when you first meet him and will take time to warm up but when he does look out. Irving will need a fenced in yard as he may run and is very shy. He loves to play with toys, people and other dogs. He uses a puppy door to go outside to potty and loves the outside sometimes he doesn't like to come back in unless you go out and get him. Irving is smart, funny and has a foot fetish. He will catch them when you put them up on something and then lets them go. Also, likes to nibble at your ears, neck or your hair but will not bite or hurt you. Irving would be good with shared walls as he rarely barks. He likes to sleep in bed with me and his doggie friends and likes to nap in a puppy bed. Adoption fee: $695
