Story
Meet Pixie! She is a fluffy and cute 6 year old, 10-lb Havanese who loves hanging out and being independent. Her superpowers include being able to sprinkle her pixie dust of cuteness all through out the house. PIxie has a spunky personality and loves when her canine foster friends are around - she just can't wag her tail fast enough. She enjoys being around feline friends too. Pixie is still unsure of getting pets and does not tolerate being picked up, but she is warming up by sniffing her humans toes and wanting to be in the same room. She 100% loves being part of the family. Pixie is crate trained and sleeps in her crate every night. She is working on house training and will need a home with a securely fenced yard to assist her with this. She is low energy and a ball of joy. Some of her favorite things are eating treats, and watching TV with her foster family! Pixie is going to need a patient adopter who will allow her to learn to trust humans again. If your family wants to help this girl blossom and allow her to show all who she can be in this world, Pixie is the gal for you! Also, don't forget about her sprinkling her Pixie dust of cuteness on your heart! Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Romy! Romy is a 4-year-old, 18-pound Bichon Frise. It's wonderful that Romy is getting a chance to learn how to be a dog after spending her early life in a puppy mill. To help her adjust, a quiet, low-key, and patient home is essential. Another dog's presence could be beneficial, but it's not necessary. Housebreaking and leash training will be part of her learning process. Patience and positive reinforcement training will be key to helping her become more comfortable around people and adapt to her new environment. Romy is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. Romy is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. Story
Meet Kieran! Kieran is a 4 year old, 22 pound Bichon Frise. Kieran is a rescue from a puppy mill, and as such, is fairly skittish around people. She is fostered with other dogs her size and does well with them! Kieran is still trying to figure out what a dog is supposed to do, as leash walking, treats, and playing are all new to her. She will need a calm, patient household to help her blossom. An adopter with another confident dog would be helpful but not necessary. Are you the white knight wanting to rescue this damsel in distress? Kieran is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. Kieran is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees.
