How this pet arrived: Elita was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on December 30, 2024. Why Elita might be the one for you:Meet Elita, a delightful companion in search of a loving new home! Elita was very shy and fearful when she arrived to our care, but has made lots of progress working with our trainers. She needs time to build trust at her own pace, but once she does, she shares her playful and loyal nature! She enjoys bouncing around the yard, catching toys and treats and being near her trusted people. She is very intelligent and responds well to positive reinforcement training. Elita will thrive best in a calm, lower-traffic home with adults or older children who can read her body language and help her build confidence. Our trainers will provide lots of information to set you up for success! If you're looking for an energetic, bright companion, come speak to an adoption counselor to learn more about Elita today! Story
Meet Mousey, this almost seniorish boy is around 7 years old. He was relinquished to a high kill shelter in Downy by his owner who could no longer care for him. Mouse is around 90 lbs and is nothing but a lover boy. He seeks affection from anyone who will give it to him. He doesn't quite understand his size and would be best suited for a home with older kids (12 and up). Mouse was scheduled to be euthanized for space. Luckily with the amazing help of the community he was transported and found a safe foster in San Diego. He has all the quirky attributes of a husky and malamute. He's strong and is working on his leash skills. He's active and curious. Mousey loves to play with his ball and other toys. He is very vocal and loves to demand attention from his humans. He'd do best with canine friends who love to play and a yard to romp around in.
