You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.COURTESY POST: Meet Ember! Meet Ember, a vibrant 2-year-old Siberian Husky who is searching for her forever home! Just a few months ago, Ember was adopted from the San Diego Humane Society by a loving family who had previously welcomed another Siberian Husky named Willow into their lives. While Willow, now 6, has been a cherished member of the family, they believe Ember could be the perfect partner for her after the heart-wrenching loss of their previous pup. However, as time has passed, it has become clear that, despite their best efforts, Ember's energetic and spirited nature simply doesn't mesh with Willow's more laid-back personality. Though the two dogs enjoy each other’s company during outdoor playdates, the dynamics of home life have proved to be challenging. The family has gone above and beyond in trying to find a harmonious balance, enrolling Ember and Willow in training and working to establish structure. However, as senior citizens, they find themselves unable to meet Ember's high energy and exercise needs. It’s commendable that they have made the decision to prioritize Ember's well-being by seeking a more active family. I’ve personally witnessed their dedication and the lengths they have gone to help Ember adjust, and it’s clear that this decision comes from a place of love and responsibility. Ember is a true gem of a dog—sweet, playful, loves to swim and incredibly intelligent. She thrives on human interaction, loves children, and has shown herself to be a loyal and adaptable companion. Ember is not only potty trained and house trained, but she has also completed several months of professional training, mastering her commands with ease. Her gentle demeanor means she won’t destroy your belongings or chew on furniture, making her the perfect buddy for a cozy Netflix night as much as for adventurous outings. With her striking hazel eyes and soft fur, Ember's beauty is sure to capture the hearts of anyone who meets her. To ensure her continued success, we believe that Ember would thrive in a home where she can benefit from group dog walks and training classes that help channel her energy and maintain her obedience. She is healthy, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, making her ready to start her new adventure with a loving family who understands the unique needs of her breed. If you live in Southern California, specifically in Escondido, San Diego County, or nearby areas, and have a secure yard along with another friendly dog, Ember could be the perfect addition to your family. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to welcome this wonderful dog into your life! If you're ready to embrace Ember's joyful spirit, visit tlck9rescue.org to apply for adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jake’s life began on the streets of Mexico, where every day was a struggle to survive. By the time he was rescued, this tiny puppy was petrified of everything—human touch, loud sounds, even a gentle breeze made him flinch. His little body carried fear, and his eyes told a story of hardship no puppy should ever endure. But everything changed the day Jake entered TLC K9 Rescue’s care. With patience, love, and steady training, his walls slowly began to crumble. Every treat, every kind word, every quiet moment reminded him that the world could be safe. Bit by bit, his confidence returned. Today, Jake is blossoming into the loving, gentle puppy he was always meant to be. He wags, he plays, he trusts—and his future is finally bright. Now all he needs is a forever family to love him just as deeply as he loves back. We can’t wait to see Jake flourish in his very own home. Story
I originally got her from a privately owned family. She is 6 years and 2 months old. Her birthday is 12/26/2019! She is an extremely loving, energetic, friendly and amazing dog. We love her so much but we recently had two babies and our schedules are getting very busy and we can’t give her everything she needs. We’re looking for an owner that has a backyard and likes to take her places. She loves being outside and playing and going for hikes/walks. We love her so much but we have to do what’s best for her and she deserves more than what we can provide right now. She is very snuggly and absolutely loved belly rubs and snuggling. She doesn’t bark and only howls when she sings with you or grunts while stretching. She is very well behaved and house trained. She is really good with kids, absolutely loves ours and is very protective.

How Kai arrived: Kai was brought in by his previous owner on January 3, 2026. Why Kai could be the one for you:Meet Kai, a sweet, affectionate pup with a big heart and lots of potential! Kai is playful, intelligent, and an eager learner who benefits from structure and consistency. In a previous home, he has done wonderfully with children and another dog, showing that he can build positive relationships when given the right introductions and guidance. Like many dogs, Kai can feel unsure around unfamiliar dogs, and he's currently working on his confidence and calm responses in those situations. With supportive adopters who are willing to continue positive reinforcement training and provide thoughtful management, Kai has all the potential to thrive. His eagerness to please, loving nature and past success in a multi-dog home make him a truly special companion! At SDHS:Kai has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This is Miko, he is 10 years old. He absolutely loves humans and will smother you in love. He is stubborn but that comes with the territory of his breed. We got him from the humane society and he has adapted to home life very well. Unfortunately due to my health I have to rehome this sweet boy as soon as possible. I hope you become his new owner!
