Story
Luna was born December 11, 2021. We got her a friend as soon as she was able to leave her mom. She has been a very good dog to us up until we had my daughter. She has become very jealous and needs more attention then we can give her. She is very loving and enjoys long walks. She needs to be in a home with older kids and someone who can take time to love her and train her. She does well with other dogs. We have a sibling of hers from another litter. They get along for the most part until it comes down to their food. They will argue, not necessarily fight, but she can get food aggressive towards other pets and small children. She does really well with my 14 year old son as well as other older children. She just doesn’t do well with toddlers.

Story
We are smitten with Bullet. He is a bright ray of sunshine to be around and is an interactive, affection-seeking, handsome, handsome, handsome good boy. He is about five years old, is neutered, and has the most darling happy-go-lucky puppy personality. If you are someone who loves spending your time outside...adopt Bullet. If you are someone who is looking for a well-behaved hiking buddy...adopt Bullet. If you are someone who likes to be active but then relax for the evening...adopt Bullet! He fits all those bills! We cannot wait to see him at the beach because he sure loves running up and down the creek in our dog park! We would be so surprised if he doesn't end up being a water dog! Another reason that he would be an awesome adventure buddy is that he does great in the car. He loves car rides! Bullet's ideal home would be one where there aren't too many stairs. If there are around four or more stairs, it gets to be hard for him. He frolics and zoomies around the dog park perfectly fine, though! He's just a dude who doesn't seem to like indoor stairs! If you do have stairs, that is okay, we'll just need to have a quick chat about how to accommodate. He's had positive interactions with some other dogs! He tends to do best with dogs who are of similar energy and interacting level. What we mean is that Bullet likes to run for a little bit, then he is content to sniff off in his own direction. He's done alright with cats and we think kiddos about 8ish and up would love him so much as their furbrother. We are weaning Bullet off of his medicine, which is barely $10/month! And he is truly the best dog ever at taking meds. Put the pill in some cheese and he doesn't give you a single issue! We have him on prednisone since his immune system degenerates the muscles in his head and jaw. Don't worry, though! He doesn't seem to be in pain and there's not been one visitor who has noticed that it bothers him! If you are interested in adopting Bullet, it's just something to be aware of at vet visits...which he is a perfect gentleman for, of course! No surprise there!

Story
(Prefers women. Guy shy.) We have the very best girl here looking for the perfect home for HER! Rather than people checking her out, we are putting her up for adoption with the interview more focused on the people than on her. See, Gigi is a very sweet, happy, curious pup who loves to play, run and sniff! However, she has a very low self esteem, can be very timid, scared and super shy. She is slow start, but a patient pup parent/family will bring her confidently out of her shell and will soon see all of her goofiness and love! Trust me, it’s worth the patience! Gigi is just over 50 lbs and is approximately 2 years old. She is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, HW-, fully vetted and ready to go!! This girl loves to play with other dogs her size, but she can be too aggressive with smaller dogs and cats are an absolute no as she enjoys chasing them way too much. She also enjoys “hunting” squirrels and birds in the back yard. A fenced yard will be the best for her as she loves to explore on her own. Meet and greets with Gigi will be not at all indicative of the actual dog who is buried under her fear and uncertainty. She comes alive with time, calm, giving Gigi her space and letting her build her confidence within the setting. Like many other shy dogs, forcing her into situations without giving her short breaks away from the excitement can make her shyness worse. She needs pet parents that can slowly build her confidence by gently introducing her into new environments, new sounds, new experiences. She also seems to be very uncertain around some men, so a slow introduction with the man completely ignoring her is the best way to quickly grow that relationship. Let her come to him in her time and they will soon be best friends! Gigi is a special girl with specific needs, but we know that family/person is out there! Can you provide Gigi the very best home for her? Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old.
