Story
Hi, I’m Aleu! If you’re looking for a smart, energetic, and fun-loving companion, I might just be your perfect match!I’m a playful pup who loves to run and stretch my legs. Whether it’s zooming around the yard or playing with my favorite people, I’ve got plenty of energy to share. An active family who enjoys the outdoors would be my dream come true!I’m also a smart cookie I already know how to sit and shake, and I take treats very politely (so don’t forget to reward me when I show off my skills!). I love learning and would thrive with someone who enjoys continuing my training and keeping my mind engaged. When it comes to other dogs, I can be a little hesitant at first—but give me a little time and patience, and I’ll warm up and happily run and play in the yard with my new canine friends. Here’s what I’m looking for in my forever home: A home with older children only (this is a must for me!) No cats, please — they excite me a bit too much and I can’t resist chasing them An experienced owner who understands my breed and can provide confident guidance A house with a yard — apartment life just isn’t for me An active family ready to keep up with my energyI have so much love, loyalty, and enthusiasm to give. With the right family, I’ll be the most devoted and entertaining companion you could ask for.Could that family be yours? If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $150

Story
Zara is a 7-month-old Husky mix with a big personality and even bigger energy. She is a bright, athletic young dog who is still very much in her puppy phase and looking for a home ready to help her grow into a well-rounded adult. As a Husky mix, Zara displays many of the traits the breed is known for — intelligence, curiosity, athleticism, and a spirited nature. She is very high energy and thrives in environments where she has appropriate outlets for both physical exercise and mental stimulation. Daily walks, structured playtime, enrichment activities, and ongoing training will be essential to help her succeed. An active household that enjoys outdoor adventures would be an excellent fit.Because of her energy level and typical Husky tendencies to explore and roam, Zara will require a securely fenced-in yard where she can safely run and burn off energy. Huskies are known for being clever and sometimes independent, so supervision and secure containment will be important.Zara is still learning her manners and will benefit from consistent training, clear boundaries, and routine. With structure and guidance, she has tremendous potential and is eager to learn. Providing her with leadership and continued socialization will help her mature into a confident, well-balanced adult dog.She does well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion who can match her energy and playful style. A home that understands the needs of active, intelligent breeds and is prepared for the commitment that comes with an adolescent Husky mix will set her up for success.Zara is not a low-key dog, but for the right family, she will be an incredibly rewarding companion. With time, patience, and dedication, she has all the potential to grow into a loyal, devoted, and adventurous partner. If you are interested in adopting Zara or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $250

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lupin is a lovely pup with a lot of energy. He loves to run around the yard and loves going camping. He is good with adults and older children (10 and up) but not so much with younger kids. Lupin gets along with other dogs but only for a short period of time until he kicks into alpha mode and starts to push them around. He absolutely cannot be around cats. We love Lupin to death and wish we could keep him but we have been trying to acclimate him to our 2 year old son for the last 2 years and it just isn't working. It is in the best interest of ourselves and Lupin that we find him a forever home where he doesn't have to be separated from his family and can live freely amongst them. Please Contact Lupin's owner directly with the contact information below. Owner will be asking for a home visit meet and greet as well as rehoming fee. thekochuts@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. If you are interested in a particular pet, we suggest you email: mmarpaws@gmail.com to see if that pet will be there.   Applications are approved on the basis of the best and most appropriate home for the animal, not on a first come, first served basis. Story
Meet Noodles (a.k.a. Nancy)! Hello there! My name is Noodles, but when I get a little mischievous, you can call me Nancy! I was found as a stray in Detroit, and let’s just say it’s been quite a journey. When I first came into rescue, I was shutdown and didn’t know how to be a dog. I was scared of leashes and even of humans. But with lots of love and patience, I’ve come so far and am now ready to find my perfect family! We are unsure exactly how old I am and a lady never discloses that real information, but we're guessing I am around 6 years old. Also, a lady never says her weight, so let's just say I am less than a baby Rhino's weight . Another words, I'm perfectly imperfect.  I’ll be honest—sometimes I’m still a scaredy cat and fear my own shadow. But when I’m with my favorite humans, I shine ! It may take me some time to trust you, but I can assure you I am worth the wait! When you are my person, you are the love of my life. I am forever unconditionally yours. You will never have another loyal best friend like me.  I’m housebroken and sleep wherever I feel most comfortable—whether it’s curled up on the bed, snuggled on the floor, or snuggled in my own bed. Have you heard of Noodle sandwich? It's when my two favorite people are on each side of me giving me hugs and kisses! It's one of my absolute favorite lovins time.  While I rarely bark, I do let my humans know when it’s potty time or when I’m ready for some fun. The outdoors? Well, I’m not a big fan, to be honest. I’ll tell you when I’m ready to come back inside, thank you very much! An introverted home is my dream, and I would thrive with a family who understands my need for a quiet, calm environment. I’m not into exercise or long walks—what I really want is a cozy fenced yard where I can enjoy the fresh air while staying cool inside. I tend to get stressed around small children, so older humans or a quiet household without kids would be the best fit for me. Oh, and I prefer to be the only pet in the house—I really don’t like sharing attention! It's not that I am aggressive with other dogs. It's simple, I am an introvert and do not wish to socialize with other four-legged kind. Sadly, when I was found, the vet discovered I was heartworm positive. Thankfully, I have gone through heartworm treatment and am now ready to enjoy my life with a loving family. I’m looking for humans who appreciate the retirement lifestyle, those who want to relax at home, and perhaps not have a lot of company over. If you think you could be the perfect person to help me live my best life, I can’t wait to meet you!     DewormedHeartworm Survivor!Receiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayed ADOPTION FEE: SPONSORED IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Story
Shadow is a 5 year old male, neutered dog. I’ve had him since he was a puppy. Shadow is a sweet dog that loves to sleep by your feet on the bed. He loves being outside and in fact, would do best with someone who loves to be outside too. Before recently, we would go on long walks together. He doesn’t have much of a play drive besides being outside and running around (he doesn’t play with toys much). He does love a good chew bone. He’s gotten along with several cats we’ve had over the years and gets along with our small Boston Terrier. However, he does not seem to like other dogs in passing on walks and such. I’ve never taken him to a busy dog park so I’m unsure how he’d do there. He generally loves people. However, and this is why we are looking to rehome him, kids make him very nervous. Always have. And our LO is about 1 now (we’ve been trying to make it work this whole time) and it doesn’t seem fair to Shadow or the family to keep him. I’m running out of characters to type so ask Q’s!

Story
Meet Cimmaron! This 64-pound, four-year-old husky mix is as cool as they come! Handsome and house-trained, Cimarron is ready to impress. Like most huskies, he loves the snow! A fan of ear and face rubs, Cimarron is content just to be near his people. When he's not outside enjoying the winter wonderland, Cimarron prefers to lay quietly on his dog bed, chillaxing the day away. When it comes to other pups, Cimarron has done well with the male and female shepherds/huskies he had been living with. He has engaged in play, but is mostly content to lay near the other pups. He's admittedly a bit picky when it comes to his food, but his foster family found out he prefers meaty treats and sits nicely for treats. Cimarron isn't too interested in toys just yet, but does enjoy elk horns! Cimarron tolerated bath time very well and seems to enjoy grooming. He's good on leash with a harness and will need a capable handler. A tall, physical fenced-in yard will be a requirement for him given his curious nature and prey drive. An adopter with breed experience is preferred. Cimarron will thrive in a home with continued training, routine, and daily exercise. He rides well in the car and is ready for adventure! Based on our evaluation, we feel Cimarron would do best in an active but predictable home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. We feel he has the capacity to live with other dogs, but a home free of cats and small animals is required. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family pup. If you think Cimarron could be the pup for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit your application for our hunky husky!
