Through no fault of their own, these two wonderful dogs are now searching for a safe place to land.  Ghost• Approximately 2 years old• Male Husky mix• Neutered• Up to date on vaccines• Handsome boy with one blue eye and one brown eye, and a heart that's just as unique.  Sophie• Shepherd/collieApproximately 2 years old• Spayed female• Up to date on vaccines• Sweet, affectionate, and always happy to be by your side. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lupin is a lovely pup with a lot of energy. He loves to run around the yard and loves going camping. He is good with adults and older children (10 and up) but not so much with younger kids. Lupin gets along with other dogs but only for a short period of time until he kicks into alpha mode and starts to push them around. He absolutely cannot be around cats. We love Lupin to death and wish we could keep him but we have been trying to acclimate him to our 2 year old son for the last 2 years and it just isn't working. It is in the best interest of ourselves and Lupin that we find him a forever home where he doesn't have to be separated from his family and can live freely amongst them. Please Contact Lupin's owner directly with the contact information below. Owner will be asking for a home visit meet and greet as well as rehoming fee. thekochuts@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment. Story
Meet Noodles (a.k.a. Nancy)! Hello there! My name is Noodles, but when I get a little mischievous, you can call me Nancy! I was found as a stray in Detroit, and let’s just say it’s been quite a journey. When I first came into rescue, I was shutdown and didn’t know how to be a dog. I was scared of leashes and even of humans. But with lots of love and patience, I’ve come so far and am now ready to find my perfect family! We are unsure exactly how old I am and a lady never discloses that real information, but we're guessing I am around 6 years old. Also, a lady never says her weight, so let's just say I am less than a baby Rhino's weight . Another words, I'm perfectly imperfect.  I’ll be honest—sometimes I’m still a scaredy cat and fear my own shadow. But when I’m with my favorite humans, I shine ! It may take me some time to trust you, but I can assure you I am worth the wait! When you are my person, you are the love of my life. I am forever unconditionally yours. You will never have another loyal best friend like me.  I’m housebroken and sleep wherever I feel most comfortable—whether it’s curled up on the bed, snuggled on the floor, or snuggled in my own bed. Have you heard of Noodle sandwich? It's when my two favorite people are on each side of me giving me hugs and kisses! It's one of my absolute favorite lovins time.  While I rarely bark, I do let my humans know when it’s potty time or when I’m ready for some fun. The outdoors? Well, I’m not a big fan, to be honest. I’ll tell you when I’m ready to come back inside, thank you very much! An introverted home is my dream, and I would thrive with a family who understands my need for a quiet, calm environment. I’m not into exercise or long walks—what I really want is a cozy fenced yard where I can enjoy the fresh air while staying cool inside. I tend to get stressed around small children, so older humans or a quiet household without kids would be the best fit for me. Oh, and I prefer to be the only pet in the house—I really don’t like sharing attention! It's not that I am aggressive with other dogs. It's simple, I am an introvert and do not wish to socialize with other four-legged kind. Sadly, when I was found, the vet discovered I was heartworm positive. Thankfully, I have gone through heartworm treatment and am now ready to enjoy my life with a loving family. I’m looking for humans who appreciate the retirement lifestyle, those who want to relax at home, and perhaps not have a lot of company over. If you think you could be the perfect person to help me live my best life, I can’t wait to meet you!     DewormedHeartworm Survivor!Receiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayed ADOPTION FEE: SPONSORED IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Story
we’re looking for the right family for our sweet boy, Shadow.Shadow is a 5-year-old husky/shepherd mix (about 40 lbs), neutered, and up to date on his vet care. He’s affectionate, enjoys being with his people, and does well with other dogs and cats.We believe Shadow would thrive in a home with adults or older, dog-savvy children. Since welcoming our toddler, we’ve realized that life with a young child is stressful for him. While he has never bitten anyone, he has shown he’s happiest in a home without toddlers. We’re committed to finding the right fit, not just the first one. If you think Shadow may be a great addition to your family, or know someone who may be interested, please send me a message. Sharing is also greatly appreciated. ❤️

Story
Hello, my name is Edna, and I am sweet girl with the most adorable heart shaped nose, and I am looking for a family to love. I am about a year old and weigh 42 pounds and the nice volunteers here at the rescue say I have the most beautiful brindle coloring and think I am gorgeous! I am a little timid and quiet by nature, but my gentle and low-key personality makes me the perfect companion for anyone seeking a calm and loving presence in their life. While I may be a bit fearful of new things, my curiosity and desire for affection always win me over. I just need a little time to adjust and feel safe. In a quieter, more predictable home, I know I can truly shine. I would love nothing more than to find someone who understands my sensitive soul and can offer me the patience and love I need to thrive. My ideal day involves plenty of cuddles, ear scratches and toys, they seem to really perk me up and bring out the sillies in me! I may not be the most outgoing pup, but I am loyal and affectionate, always seeking attention and closeness with my special person. If you're looking for a best friend who is a little more reserved and content with the simple pleasures in life, then I am the dog for you. I promise to bring a little extra love and warmth into your world. I will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old with me being a little shy. I do need to be the only dog in the home for my sake, I just have zero interest in interacting with them. I honestly just try to avoid other dogs and look to you for security and to keep the other dog away. I really hope you want to come and meet me, I think you would just fall in love. If you are interested in Edna and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
