Story
Meet Nami — part husky, part shepherd, part Olympic athlete, and 100% ready for her next big adventure. This stunning 2-year-old beauty is smart, energetic, and always looking for something fun to do. Nami already knows sit, but she’s still polishing her “best girl” skills and will need continued consistent training from a patient, active family who understands intelligent working breeds. Give this girl a job, a routine, and plenty of exercise, and she’ll absolutely thrive.Nami is not the kind of dog who wants to spend all day binge-watching TV on the couch. She’s looking for hiking buddy energy, backyard zoomies energy, “let’s go do something” energy. A bored Nami will quickly invent her own entertainment… and trust us, she’s creative.Speaking of athleticism: Nami has been observed jumping to the TOP of a 6-foot chain-link fence like she’s auditioning for the Dog Olympics. Because of this, she’ll need either a secure privacy fence and/or close supervision while outside. She’s incredibly intelligent and agile, so containment and structure are important for her success.Due to her breed mix and prey drive, we recommend a cat-free home. Kids should be 8 and up, ideally ones who understand how to respectfully interact with a high-energy dog. If you already have another dog, Nami would love to schedule a meet-and-greet to make sure the vibes are right. If you’re experienced with active breeds and looking for a loyal, brilliant, adventurous companion who will keep life exciting, Nami might just be your perfect match. If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100.

Story
Juno is a handsome 7-year-old Husky looking for an experienced, active home that understands and appreciates this incredible breed. Like many Huskies, Juno is intelligent, energetic, and happiest when he has a job to do or an adventure to enjoy.Juno loves going for walks and is a pleasure on a leash. He enjoys getting out and exploring, and he would thrive with a family that enjoys hiking, walking, or spending time outdoors. He also plays well with other large dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion of similar size and energy level.Because of his strong prey drive, Juno cannot live in a home with cats or chickens. He will need a secure environment when outside. Juno must either be kept on a tether or have access to a securely fenced yard with a minimum 6-foot wooden privacy fence. Huskies are known for their ability to escape and roam, so proper containment is essential.Juno is not a couch potato. He loves being outdoors and needs regular physical exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy. Puzzle toys, training activities, walks, hikes, and other enrichment opportunities will help keep this smart boy engaged.Juno is searching for a home with people who are familiar with the Husky breed and understand their unique needs. Huskies are wonderful companions, but they are not the right fit for everyone. The ideal adopter will be committed to providing the structure, activity, and supervision Juno needs to thrive. If you`re looking for a loyal, active companion to share your adventures and understand what it means to own a Husky, Juno may be the perfect match for you!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $50

Story
Ranger is a 3-year-old Siberian Husky with a larger-than-life personality and enough energy to keep up with any adventure! This handsome boy is a bundle of fun wrapped in a fluffy fur coat, and he’s never met a stranger — Ranger truly believes everyone is his best friend. Whether he’s running around with canine companions, exploring the outdoors, or soaking up attention from his people, Ranger is happiest when he’s active and included in the fun.Like a true Husky, Ranger is incredibly smart and highly food motivated, which will make training both rewarding and enjoyable. He thrives with structure, activity, and positive reinforcement. Ranger would do best with a family committed to giving him plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and quality time.Because of his breed’s strong prey drive, Ranger is not recommended for homes with cats. He will also require a securely fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy and enjoy outdoor playtime.Ranger’s thick double coat is beautiful, but it does come with grooming needs. Daily brushing and occasional professional grooming will help keep him comfortable, healthy, and looking his best year-round.If you’re searching for a loyal, outgoing, adventure-loving companion who will happily be your shadow and best friend, Ranger may be the perfect fit for your family! If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $100

Meet Lucas!Lucas is a 2 year old, Neutered Male, Siberian Husky/Cattle Dog mix!Lucas was recently transferred to us from Warren Animal Control. He's a petite and spunky little guy who is super sweet and loving! His tail never stops wagging and he loves everyone he meets. Our training team referred to him as a torpedo of affection and love! He should do well with other dogs but would do well as an only dog in an active home. He would love to go on adventures with his new family!Visit our website to fill out the adoption application: https://bit.ly/HSofMacombadoptionapplicationIf your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day.
