Story
We adopted Willow from an Animal Shelter. She was originally owned by my step-children's mother. She is an escape artist so she would constanty get out. The last time she was turned into Animal Control under their mom's ownership she surrendered her. We thought it would be great for the kids for us to adopt her as a surprise. However, we have a 5-year-old lab. Willow seems to be very food posesseive and often goes after our lab while in the kitchen when food is or isn't involved. As mentioned before, she is an escape artist. We do not have a fenced in yard. Ultimately, Willow is an extremely sweet 2-year-old girl. She is crated during the day while we are at work. She has not chewed anything up so far. She is currently taking medications for kennel cough that she got while at the Shelter as well as a medication for diarehha. She will be done with these medications soon. We have an appointment to surrender her to animal shelter on Tuesday 4/23. I thought I would try this as well.

Story
Snoopy is a very loyal, loving dog that happily lived in the South Carolina country with his owner Steve. When Snoopy moved to Michigan and into my home, he immediately showed heightened anxiety. Snoopy and Steve moved in November and my home is a smaller home with 3 extra people (myself and my teens) and two extra fur friends which has not been easy. We tried to expose the dogs to one another but unfortunately they do not get along, so we have had to keep Snoopy separate from my dogs. My Border Collie/Jack Russell is a yapper so he stresses Snoopy out. Snoopy nipped us a few times due to being stressed but has not nipped in over a month since we started prozac. Snoopy is an amazingly loving dog, but we feel he will be so much happier in a quieter home, with loving owners and no other pets. A loving owner that can offer him a happy home, some additional training and a fenced yard is essential.

Story
**adoption pending** **Henry is in a foster home and not living at the kennel. He will more than likely be visiting K9 during open hours on Saturdays and Sundays.** Henry says Happy St. Patrick's Day! He is estimated to be about 4 months old and weighs 22 pounds right now. Henry really wants to find his family, the poor boy has been passed around and desperately needs a true forever home. Henry is super cute with a wonderful sit, but he is very puppy mouthy right now, and his baby pointy teeth hurt. He has so much potential, he just has not received the structure and guidance a young pup needs, he seems confused about life. We are working with him at the rescue, and he is already sitting and looking to us for reassurance and praise. Henry needs an experienced adopter who has the time and patience to work with him up front to resolve his mouthiness. He will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old too, who will be able to tolerate and help with training him out of his mouthy behavior. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Henry would love to meet them. He loves other dogs but is a bit unruly and needs limits set for him. It is important that his new family understand the commitment and amount of work puppies need before adopting. Henry will also need someone who is home frequently because he can't be left alone for a long period of time due to being a puppy! A family that is active and is open to helping him learn the way of being a good dog is just what he needs. If you are interested in Henry and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
**In a foster home and not at the kennel** This handsome guy is about 4 years old and 70 pounds. Deuce is a typical large breed dog- slow moving, calm, and laid back with short playful bursts of energy. He loves people and other dogs. Deuce knows sit, down, high five, shake, wait, stay, off and leave it. He is fully house trained and is currently in foster with an older male and younger female dog. His favorite things to do include time with his people, hikes, car rides and playtime, especially with other dogs. Deuce needs a knowledgeable and active adopter who can keep him challenged and set limits. Deuce initially displayed some food guarding at the kennel. This is not apparent in his foster care. However, his adopter will need to continue working with him so that it does not resurface. He needs an adult only home. Deuce would love a fenced in yard to safely explore. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
Snow is such a handsome boy! He is estimated to be about 18 months old and weighs 40 pounds. What an outgoing, playful, fun-spirited pup Snow is, so silly! He is also very connecting and just craves closeness, which is very nice with his soft, fluffy coat. He knows a solid sit too and is super attentive to you, he seems highly trainable. Snow also likes to give out plenty of kisses to make you feel loved. He is the perfect size, not too small, not too big, just right! Really what comes to mind with Snow is a sweet goofball! Oh, and he has the cutest feathery curled tail! Snow does have some mild food bowl guarding, but he is catching on quickly to trading up and is very responsive to verbal correction. His new family will need to continue to work on this with him. Snow needs a leader to set rules and boundaries for him. He also needs an experienced adopter who understands the mental and physical needs of the breed. An active home with a fenced in yard with room to run is a must for him as well. Snow needs an adult only home. If you are interested in Snow and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. ***Cotton is in a foster home right now, so he is not at the kennel. If you are interested in him, please fill out the application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you!*** Cotton is such a nice pup and what a snuggler! He is estimated to be about 13 weeks old and weighs 14 pounds right now. Cotton is so very sweet, just a darling. He loves to cuddle and to just be with you. Cotton is a bit shy though, so he needs some confidence building, especially now while he is so young. It is important that his new family understand the commitment and amount of work puppies need before adopting. Cotton will also need someone who is home frequently because he can't be left alone for a long period of time due to being a puppy! Puppies require and deserve a lot of time and energy, but will repay their families with a lifetime of unconditional love and happiness. They are looking for families to make a best friend for life! Cotton will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old, due to his shy nature. If you are interested in Cotton and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.
