Story
Nanook is five years old and will turn six in October. With his owners he is very kind and friendly but he is very aggressive towards small animals, children, and other adults. He will run away when he gets a chance and he will easily climb over a four foot tall fence so he will need a spacious yard with a tall fence.

Story
Found wandering all alone about a construction site, neighbors joined forces to make sure that Frankie stayed safe with them, until our Animal Control Officer could arrive on scene. Noting that Frankie was emaciated, our officer found him patiently waiting alongside one of his finder’s while the other finder helped with the paperwork required. Frankie was not chipped and had no ID tag, and remained here on his stray hold, appearing on our website as all strays do, with no family coming to claim him. Now he is looking to call himself a family member and leave stray construction life behind him! Since he has been here with us, he has met a slightly larger spayed female here and was so interested in sniffing his new friend, then decided he just needed to be outside to potty… never looking back at his friend again. So, this unique and sweet boy says it’s not that he isn’t interested in other dogs, he just needed to potty! He is smart, sweet and knows how to sit and give paw! Please come and meet this super sweet and friendly boy in person here at the shelter to see if he is meant to spend forever with your family! We are a first come, first served and in person adoption center. We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all, also! We don’t know how he does with cats and have no way to test for that. All of our adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and UTD on all age-appropriate vaccines/preventatives. Adopters will need to establish vet care upon adopting to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness. If you can’t promise forever, please consider waiting to adopt until you can!! And always check with your housing management to make sure you are able to have a pet, before you bring one home! Returning a dog to a shelter after they have been adopted out for any length of time, is truly stressful for them! And remember the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet. 3 days for your new pet to decompress3 weeks for your new family member to settle in3 months for them to build trustFrankie’s adoption fee is $80 Please bring a collar and leash OR purchase a combo from us for only $15 to safely take your new family member home. We are located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville, NC. We are open for adoptions Monday-Friday 12-5pm and Saturdays 11am-2pm. Frankie/A321269: 3 years old, neu
