Story
Hello! My name is Aurora!I came to GHS with a broken leg in January. My GHS friends got me the surgery I needed and helped me recover. I'm so excited to be able to run again! I'm a friendly girl who is pretty easy-going. I enjoy cuddling up on the couch after a good walking adventure. I would love to join a home that has some experience with the husky breed and enjoys the fur that comes with that! MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES...CHILDREN: Yes, mature and respectful children.OTHER DOGS: No, I don't seem to enjoy the company of other dogs.CATS: No, I have a high prey drive and am not ideal for a home with small animals. FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I'm looking for a home with previous dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No home where barking, howling and husky "chatting" will be an issue. I do like to sing!SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME...ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.I'M ON A PRESCRIPTION DIET: No.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the "adopt me" button to apply!

Story
Juneau is a spunky lady who doesn’t act her age at all! She’s bouncy, active, and will be very vocal when she wants your attention. She truly has the cutest “aawwwoo”. It melts our hearts every time we hear it! Her beautiful blue eyes draw everyone in. Juneau is so friendly and gentle with all people, especially small children. Unfortunately, Juneau was surrendered to us after her furry sibling passed away. She became quite anxious and was having accidents in the house, so her family did not want her anymore. Juneau was extremely underweight when she came to us, and is now slowly gaining weight. Juneau is looking for a family who is home often as she has separation anxiety and will cry if left alone for long periods of time. Her family will need to be patient and be willing to work on her house training and accidents. She would do best in a home with no other dogs or cats.

Story
Luna is a chill but spunky senior girl. She was surrendered to us due to some medical complications that have since been resolved. She likes to bask in the sun, and also enjoys relaxing in the snow. She truly loves to be outside enjoying the fresh air. Luna is a vocal girl who likes to howl and "talk" to her people. She makes us laugh every day with her bossy quirks .Luna is looking for a quiet home. She can be protective of her space occasionally, and will need time to slowly warm up to new people. Luna's family would need to come to Dog Tales for frequent visits before bringing her home, in order to help her transition to her new family. An experienced adopter with no dogs or children is Luna's ideal family.

Story
Tequila was surrendered to us after living her entire life chained in a garage. At the beginning she was very difficult for handling, but once she trusted our team we saw a whole different side of her. Tequila is goofy, loves to run in the snow during winter, and in our pond during the summer. She will do just about anything for a treat! Tequila has learned how to accept and enjoy affection from her people. Her progress is a beautiful thing to be able to witness, and we are so proud of the sweet girl she has become.Sadly, a few months ago Tequila had her first seizure. Due to her age and history our vet believes she most likely has a brain tumour. She has been on medication to help with this, and we have seen her continue to live happily and comfortably. This condition requires a lot of supervision and monitoring. Eventually, her condition will be palliative, and will only worsen with time. We are thankful that Tequila has proven herself to be one tough lady so far.Tequila’s ideal home would be an adult-only, experienced home due to her bite history, touch sensitivity, and stranger reactivity. She may be good in another home depending on the situation.

Story
Yogi is an active, outgoing husky mix. This one-year-old boy gets along well with most dogs and enjoys roughhousing with them. He loves playing with toys, especially tug-of-war with other dogs or his humans. Fetch is not his thing; he would much rather be chased. When not playing, Yogi is an affectionate boy who loves to give kisses. Yogi has been through obedience training and knows basic commands such as sit and down. He will work for treats! Yogi is working on his leash manners and does better with a transitional lead or halter rather than a regular collar. He is both house and crate-trained. As a husky cross, Yogi is very vocal and will sing along with huskies on YouTube videos and will let you know what his thoughts are by vocalizing. He is not a big barker unless a stranger approaches the house. Yogi has an advanced prey drive so he would be better in a home without any cats or other small animals. He came from a loving home but kept chasing the homes existing cats. Despite training, the situation couldnt be corrected. He has a sensitive tummy and needs food for sensitive stomachs. Apart from that, Yogi is up to date on his vaccinations and is neutered. Yogi would do best in an active household. He is a young mix of Husky, Greyhound, Malamute, Saluki and German Short Haired Pointer - all active dogs. He's been good with all kids he's met, but hasn't been tested with babies or toddlers.
