AGE: 2 Years SEX: Female BREED: Husky Mix ENERGY LEVEL: High DOG FRIENDLY?: Maybe, dog selective and slow intros needed CAT FRIENDLY?: Maybe! KID FRIENDLY?: Older, dog-savvy kids only! Meet Autumn! Autumn is a playful, fun-loving girl who enjoys long walks and is always eager for new adventures. She loves soaking up belly rubs and is a huge fan of her toys - she’ll happily grab the nearest one to chew on and would be delighted if you tossed it for her to chase! She’s an active, joyful companion who brings enthusiasm and curiosity to her daily life. Autumn is a people-loving pup who does wonderfully meeting new humans. She welcomes guests into the home with ease, giving them space and respect while still offering warm, happy greetings. She’s very food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding, and puzzle toys are a big hit for keeping her mind busy. She is both house and crate trained and settles within minutes when left alone. Autumn currently lives in the city and does well in that environment, though she would also be happy in a quieter home with some extra space to run. She loves being near her people and, while not overly snuggly, enjoys affection on her own terms. When it comes to other dogs, Autumn is more selective and benefits from slow, calm introductions. She can be reactive toward dogs on leash and will need continued training and support in this area. While she and her fosters have worked on leash pulling and made good progress, building her confidence around other dogs will be an important next step. With patience, guidance, and consistency, Autumn has great potential to continue improving. If you’re looking for a sweet, energetic companion who’s ready to grow with the right support, Autumn might be the perfect match! Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Autumn? AGE: 4 WeeksSEX: 2 Females & 6 MalesBREED: Northern MixENERGY LEVEL: Likely Medium to HighDOG FRIENDLY?: Yep!CAT FRIENDLY?: Yep!KID FRIENDLY?: Yep!Meet Libby’s puppies! They are typical young puppies. They are currently living with their littermates and their mom, Libby. At this age, they spend most of their days napping and eating but in a few short weeks, they will become playful little beans. As with all young pups, they will need to work on crate training as well as potty training once they are a bit older. They also will need support with leash walking once they are old enough! Libby is approximately 45-50 lbs and we expect these pups to be medium-large once fully grown.Their ideal home would be with a committed family that will provide continuous, consistent training to ensure these puppies thrive. They will need an active family that can give them 1-2 hours of exercise and walks per day. They would be happy to share their home with another pup and although they haven’t had any exposure to cats or children, they are at a young enough age that they would most likely adapt well to an environment with dog-savvy kids or kitties!*Although we are accepting applications now, please note the puppies will need to stay in foster care until they are 8-9 weeks old. We are not currently matching specific puppies but you may specify your preferred puppy on your application. Puppies will be spayed/neutered and get their first vaccination at 8 weeks.Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for one of Libby’s Puppies? Apply now!https://newcollar.co/apply-to-adopt**Please check out our website for more information including the puppies' names and sexes. https://newcollar.co/libbys-puppies

Story
5 yo Axel and his sister Canada were rescued by their foster mom from a backyard breeder, and it was clear that they have gone through a lot in life. They are now looking for their forever home, where they can chase each other and play in a fully fenced yard. Axel and Canada are very calm and quiet husky-malamute pups, weighing 60 lb. They are not socialized much, so we would like to find them a home with no other pets. Axel and Canada used to live in a crate 24 hours and used for breeding only. They came to us sad and depressed. They only had each other, therefore we are unwilling to separate them, as they really need each other after going through so much. They were going to be put down, as the landlord of the place where they live, is threatening to take them to the pound, and the neighbor threatens to poison them. But this is very Texas. Their foster mom lives in fear for that and we hope we can find them a great home. They both enjoy being outside and going on car rides. They know the leashes very well. They get very excited, so they will pull when walking them. They need a dog owner with active lifestyles and plenty of time. They know to shake before going into the house. They know their beds. They know to sit before taking a snack. They both enjoy being outside chewing on a rawhide-free toy under the sun. They do like sun-bathing. Canada is the female black and white Siberian Husky. She is about 60 lbs. She enjoys lower back scratches and being brushed. Canada likes to watch and stare at anything you do. She is a curious girl. She is still hesitant about humans. So please be easy and slow with her. She likes to start by smelling your hands. I guess that’s her way of knowing if their evil hands or good hands. She does not do well with children of all ages, just adults. She doesn’t mind meeting other dogs. Axel is the white malamute/husky mix. He is about 55 lbs, and he is a jolly boy. He will greet anyone with a big grin, a wagging tail, and the happy energy that only a husky can emanate. He will sit with his back against your two feet and wait for pets. He is smart. He knows the drill. Once you have a routine, he will get it quickly. He likes to get on furniture. His personality is lively. He is a toy hogger. He likes to have access to all the toys. He doesn’t like meeting other dogs, especially small breeds. He prefers to only play with his sister, Canada. He loves getting his belly rubbed. He enjoys cuddles, too. These two need positive reinforcement after what they have been through. They deserve a chance to live the other half of their lives being huskies. Canada and Axel both really have the best of hearts. They just need love. They are fully vetted, fixed and chipped. They would do good with anyone with previous husky experience. They are bonded, so they have to find a home where they can be adopted together. They are not tested with cats, and they do get excited upon seeing dogs. They are both heartworm negative and is kept on heartworm and flea preventative. The pups are being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. Their adoption fee and transport fee together is $500 To meet these gorgeous pups via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank You for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
Junior here -- I am a Lover! I am affectionate, give kisses & roll over for tummy rubs! I am such a good natured, engaging 7-month old Husky puppy. I show good house manners (no counter surfing or destruction) am friendly with people, gentle & respectful of small dogs, & love to romp & play with larger dogs in the back yard.. I am healthy, intelligent, & learn quickly. Also, I am house-trained, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, crate trained, obedient, & respond to the commands for come, sit, go lay down, leave it, & crate. I ride quietly tethered in the backseat of the car & often nap.. I would love to find a furever home where I'm a treasured member of an active family. Currently, I enjoy a home with a fenced backyard where I can play. I like balls & stuffies, but don't destroy them. I'm respectful & do not destroy or chew on furniture. Some experience with active young dogs may be helpful. Interested? Please contact Sue: sgaskell63@gmail.com. Adoption fee: $800.00

Story
Petra | 2 yrs | Female | 46 lbs | Spayed | Dogs - Yes | Cats - Unknown | Kids - Yes | Husky Mix | House / Crate trained Meet Petra ❣️ If you’re looking for a fun-loving girl who will keep you smiling every single day, Petra might just be your perfect match! Petra was flown down from Manitoba. She has spent her entire life simply trying to survive, scrounging for food, fending for herself, and even enduring the devastating wildfires. When our friends at Save A Dog Network Canada reached out asking for help, we didn't hesitate. Petra has been in foster care and is now ready to find her furever home❣️ Petra is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She’s never had an accident in her foster home and settles nicely in her crate (with a little encouragement and a treat or two 😉). She may give a short whine at first, but she quickly relaxes especially once she knows it’s bedtime. This sweet girl is great with dogs and absolutely loves to play. She’s the kind of pup who flies in like she’s first in line at the ice cream truck all excitement and pure joy! She’s also wonderful with kids. Petra is full of personality. She’s energetic, vocal, and always ready to go. She thrives when she’s mentally stimulated and close to her people. She loves chew toys, squeakers, chasing a ball. But when the zoomies are done? She transforms into the ultimate snuggle bug. Petra gives the most heartwarming cuddles and will happily curl up beside you. Her little elf-like ears and the way she sits with one leg off to the side will absolutely melt your heart. If you think Pedra could be the missing piece in your home, apply to adopt through Backstreet Paws Rescue.
