Story
Luna is a chill but spunky senior girl. She was surrendered to us due to some medical complications that have since been resolved. She likes to bask in the sun, and also enjoys relaxing in the snow. She truly loves to be outside enjoying the fresh air. Luna is a vocal girl who likes to howl and "talk" to her people. She makes us laugh every day with her bossy quirks .Luna is looking for a quiet home. She can be protective of her space occasionally, and will need time to slowly warm up to new people. Luna's family would need to come to Dog Tales for frequent visits before bringing her home, in order to help her transition to her new family. An experienced adopter with no dogs or children is Luna's ideal family.

Story
Pipo (pronounced Peepo) is a 5-year-old male, roughly 40 pounds. He appears to be a cross of some kind, perhaps husky and border collie. He is energetic, shy, bouncy, highly alert: just the gentlest, sweetest disposition and again, very affectionate. Pipo loves nothing more than to snuggle on the couch, or in bed. He is neutered, microchipped and 95 per cent house-trained -- but can occasionally lapse if left alone in the house too long. He is very good with people and dogs. His main issue is with cyclists: if they come near him he will lunge suddenly towards them, not aggressively but just out of excitement. His recall is not great and he likes to jump, so any off-leash any off-leash activity, at least in the short term, MUST be in a fully-enclosed space, with a high fence.  He currently lives with 2 dogs and would do well with another neutral or meek dog in the home. Pipo is quite sensitive and needs a very gentle home. His ideal home would be one where he is the centre of attention, where he can cuddle on the couch and bed. A home with someone who is experienced with rescued dogs and reactivity, and only uses positive reinforcement. His foster home is in  midtown Toronto.  Due to time constraints, we cannot respond to every email asking for more information on a dog. Please carefully review the bio for the dog and our adoption process https://www.speakingofdogs.com/adoption/adoption-process/.  If you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application form at the bottom of that page.September 11, 2026, 11:15 am

Story
💛 Meet Harley and Shelby — Two Beautiful Sisters, One Very Special Bond Harley and Shelby are four-year-old twin sisters with the kind of connection that makes you stop and smile. These beautiful girls have grown up side by side, and their bond is truly something special. They run together, wrestle together, explore together, and find comfort in knowing the other is always close by. Watching them play is pure joy — two happy hearts moving through the world as a team. They are healthy, spayed, up to date on their shots, housetrained, and about 27 kg. They are good with people, well behaved on leash and off, ride nicely in the car, and love walks, adventures, and time outdoors. They are happy, joyful girls who enjoy life’s simple pleasures: a good meal, a fun outing, a chance to stretch their legs, and a cozy home where they can settle in afterward. Inside the home, Harley and Shelby are calm, quiet, tidy, and not destructive. They know how to enjoy the fun parts of life, but they also know how to relax. Picture them coming home after a walk, curling up nearby while the house settles, and filling the room with that peaceful feeling only dogs can bring. They are the kind of companions who make ordinary days feel warmer. Shelby, the sister with the darker face, is the more outgoing and athletic of the two. She loves car rides, enjoys being outside, and has an energetic, adventurous spirit. Harley is a softer soul — a little more shy, a little more watchful, and happiest when she can curl up on the sofa and feel safe with the people she trusts. Together, they balance each other beautifully. Shelby brings the spark, Harley brings the sweetness, and together they bring so much love. They can be a little nervous with strangers at first, but once they know you, their affectionate side begins to shine. Their trust is something precious, and the family who earns it will be rewarded with loyalty, love, laughter, and the heartwarming sight of two sisters who are happiest when they are together. Because Harley and Shelby are so deeply bonded, we are looking for a home where they can stay together. They are not just two dogs looking for a place to live — they are sisters, best friends, and a ready-made little family. For the right home, they will bring double the joy, double the love, and double the reason to smile every single day. If you have room in your heart and home for these two incredible girls, we would love for you to meet them. Story
Kai came to us as a transfer from another shelter, where he was found as a stray and never claimed. This handsome, strong-willed boy is now ready to find his perfect match—a dedicated and experienced caregiver who understands his unique needs. Kai thrives in an environment that offers structure and consistency. He forms deep bonds with his people and can be protective of both his loved ones and his personal space. Due to his protective nature, Kai would do best in a spacious home where he has the ability to be safely separated when visitors arrive. New introductions should be gradual, controlled, and involve proper muzzle training to ensure a positive and safe experience for everyone. While still refining his manners, Kai is making remarkable progress. He’s quickly picking up on positive behaviors, such as sitting for attention and treats. His intelligence is evident as he eagerly engages in training, and he’s making strides every day. At this stage in his journey, Kai would be most comfortable as the only dog in the home, as we continue to assess and work on his interactions with other dogs. The ideal home for Kai will be with experienced dog owners who are familiar with training protective behaviours. He’ll need a spacious, secure home with the option for separation, no other pets, and a commitment to continuing his training with patience, consistency, and understanding.
