**IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** Let me introduce you to Blitz! She is approximately 3 months old and a Siberian Husky, with energetic eyes and a beautiful white and black coloured coat. Blitz is going to be a medium to large sized dog and she will need lots of room to run and play. Huskies are known to be escape artists, therefore it is needed that her forever home have a 6 foot secure fence. Blitz is still a puppy and therefore still has lots of growing to do, we guess she will be on the larger end of the scale for a typical Husky size. Blitz is a very beautiful dog, she has gorgeous markings and such a stunning mask and facial features, she is an absolutely stunning dog when it comes to her appearance. Blitz immediately warms up to everyone she meets and is an absolute delight, she loves to get some snuggles and she looks for everyone to play with her. Blitz was found as a stray in a northern Indigenous community with an already healing broken leg; being so young it gave her a rough start to life but ever since she has been rescued she has flourished and will never look back. Blitz needs someone who can be a pack leader and work with her through all her years to be the best dog she can be. Blitz has quite a confident personality and therefore will require ongoing consistent training, we are preferably looking for someone with previous Husky experience. Husky’s have their own special personality, exercise needs, goofy character and we need her forever home to fully embrace everything Husky and know exactly what they will be getting!! Blitz would do well in pretty much any home situation. She is calm and quiet when she is indoors, especially after spending some time playing in the backyard with the other dogs. Sometimes when they are in the house she howls at the other dogs to try to entice them to play with her! Blitz enjoys many different forms of exercise, since she is still a puppy she has tons of puppy energy! Blitz enjoys going for quiet walks, playing in the backyard with the dogs, or even just playing tug of war or fetch with the kids or other dogs in the house. Once Blitz has had a chance to expel some of her energy, she is happy to rest at your feet or snuggle with you on the couch, we always like to say she becomes our husky slipper because if you’re anywhere for more than a minute or two when she’s tired you can guarantee she will sleep covering your feet! Blitz has been working really hard on her walks, she absolutely loves to take a stroll through town to see all the sights and to sniff all the smells! She very much has a working. “ lets go” personality and she wants to make the walk a working walk and go, go, go! Blitz has shown some interest in the wildlife and since she is still a puppy this hasn’t gotten out of hand, but her forever home will need to work diligently with this to ensure she doesn’t develop too much of a prey drive. Blitz absolutely loves being active, it isn’t until the resident dogs (and kids) all lay down that she decides she will take a nap as well! Blitz is very food motivated and therefore we think she will thrive on continued training with her new owner. Blitz is very content at being on her own, if you have to go upstairs or outside for a while she doesn’t even budge from her sleeping position. Blitz is doing really well with her housetraining, especially given that she is a puppy found as a stray. Blitz is still continuing with her housetraining which I was say is at about 75%, she poops in the backyard 99% of the time, but there are still a few pee accidents in the home. Like all puppies she needs constant supervision when not in her crate and continued praise when she goes to the bathroom outside to solidify her understanding that she needs to do her business outside. She is still a very young puppy, so housetraining will need to be a continuous training point, and her forever family should understand that a transition to a new home will also bring with it some regression with her house training. It is expected that Blitz be enrolled in an obedience and manners class to help her bond with her new family and build the foundation of training for all her years to come. That being said, we strongly suggest and will be looking for applicants for her that will take her through advanced levels of obedience as it will be so beneficial for her and her family. Training will help her family establish rules and routines in the home so that she fully understands and will help her family demonstrate confidence. Huskies are known to be difficult to train due to their stubbornness and independence therefore obedience is a must and she will not be suitable for first time dog owners. Blitz is fully crate trained and loves her bed, she goes into her bed at night and during the day if her humans are going out. Blitz is very good at going in when it’s time, just throw in a tasty treat or two and say “lets go to bed”! She is very good at settling in for the night, she usually lets out a howl or two, or whines for a minute, but then she lays down and sleeps until the morning time. Blitz has been a wonderful addition to our family while she has been with us, she is a very lovable and snuggly girl and just wants someone to love her unconditionally back. Blitz is good with other dogs and has settled in very nicely with her foster dog siblings, who are showing her the ropes of being a dog and how to listen to other dogs cues. Blitz is becoming quite a confident girl and will need to go to a home with either no dogs, or a male dog for her to play with. She will not be suitable for a home with another female dog as she has demonstrated some more dominant traits. Blitz loves to initiate playtime with the other dogs and is happy to wrestle or to chase after some toys and play tug of war! Blitz is currently being fostered in a home with a cat, she is well behaved when it comes to the cat but does need some reminders that the cat does not like to be chased or pawed at. With a dog savvy cat and consistent reminders Blitz could possibly go to a home with a cat, however her new owners should remember that Huskies are known for their high prey drive. Blitz is currently living with two teens, she absolutely adores them and loves nothing more than to play tug of war or to curl up and watch a movie! Blitz has always been gentle with the kids and has learned how to properly interact with them. We believe she could go to a home with kids aged 8+ as long as they were well versed in appropriate play with dogs and involved in her training. Anyone interested in Blitz needs to live within 1hr of Cambridge, Ont as she must be returned to our vet later on to be spayed. She will be adopted out on a contract that stipulates this and it is mandatory. This is covered in the adoption fee. We will only consider a home for Blitz where someone is home or has the capabilities to come home throughout the day. Puppies need to be taken outside for bathroom breaks very regularly when they are small and will not be able to hold it for an 8hr work day. Please keep in mind that if you work from home you need to have a plan in place for a crating schedule for the pup as puppies need 100% of your supervision when not in their crates; you cannot expect to work and have the puppy running around in the room with you as they won’t have your full attention. We are also looking for families that are fully aware of the time commitment of a puppy and the work involved. Puppies are a total joy and bring so much love and happiness into a home, but you cannot underestimate the work and time involved in raising a puppy properly. They need constant supervision while young to expedite the house training stage and to ensure they aren’t chewing on anything inappropriate. We are also looking for a family that will crate train the puppies as we fully believe that this is the best for pups and offers them a quiet and secure “den” to call their own. A crate trained pup is a blessing as it offers a safe place to put them when you can’t be watching them all the time. On a final note, Blitz got to visit our wonderful vet and she has been fully vetted for all regular vaccinations, heartworm and fecal tested, has been given her flea/tick/heartworm medication and is microchipped. Because Blitz came into rescue with an injured back leg this was looked at with our vets and they advised that the fractured leg has calloused well and not causing any concerns currently. As she is a growing puppy our vet wants to recheck the leg when she is a few months older; because of this we will be getting another x-ray done when Blitz comes in for her spay surgery. That being said, Blitz has not once shown any holding back when it comes to her leg and she uses it to it’s fullest and has no problem with wrestling with the resident dogs or keeping up for walks. Blitz has been a wonderful dog to watch flourish from being an underfed and survival mode puppy into a very confident puppy. She has a great zest for life and is always happy and wagging her tail, waiting for the next adventure. This girl has been a joy to foster and has so much love to give to her people. She wants to find her forever family with someone who will dedicate time to working with her so she can be a part of a pack. **IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** If you are looking for an already well-mannered and well behaved dog, we would like to introduce you to this amazing 1yr old Husky X named Meadow! Meadow was rescued by our friends at Save a Dog Network Canada from Northern Manitoba and came to us for her chance at a loving forever home. Meadow has the typical Husky markings with some light spotted markings from midway and back on the sides of her body that look almost like leopard markings but her size/frame is very petite. She weighs 45lbs and is about full grown size. She has the sweetest little face and what we call very dainty features! Meadow currently has patchy, thin fur due to poor nutrition and tough living in her past life, but it will grow to be the full and soft fur of the Husky breed in time now that she is on quality food. Meadow’s ears are the fluffiest part of her, they are brown on the back, and tend to be always up and on alert. She has big golden eyebrows that are just the cutest. Since Meadow came to us she has already learned how to sit, shake a paw, lay down and she will even sit and do pretty paws for a treat! We are working on a few more tricks to put in her travel bag for her forever home. Meadow is amazingly smart and eager to learn, she has a great attention span when trying to teach her new things when treats are involved. But when it comes to her sense of tracking, forget it LOL, her listening skills are gone, she is on the hunt for whatever she smells or sees especially squirrels/rabbits or small rodents whether they are on the ground or in a tree! She has a high prey drive. We are assuming this is how she survived and fed herself while she was running alone in Manitoba, so it is still embedded in her. Hopefully with time and training she will realize that her food doesn’t come from the sky or ground. Her listening skills are not so good when she is tracking, so she will definitely need some consistent training with her recall. She cannot be trusted off leash outside of a secure fenced area. She will sit at the fence and look up at the trees for what seems like forever just content in her own happy little world. But when her nose is to the ground in a fenced yard and she gets the scent of something she is like PacMan racing to get those dots, and will just go and go and go from one corner to another searching for whatever it is she smells. It’s actually quite entertaining to watch. Meadow will greatly benefit from obedience training to help build and refine her commands and leash manners. It’s also an excellent way to strengthen the bond between you and her. Meadow will zone in and pull slightly on the leash when she sees a squirrel but you can easily get her to move forward with a pop of the leash and keep walking without it being too much of a struggle. She has yet to try to chase any squirrels up the trees so we feel this is a good sign of how well she does walk on the leash! The one and only time that Meadow did any kind of forceful pulling was when we saw a cat on a walk, she desperately wanted to see what it was!!! She is not cat tested, and with her strong prey drive, her ideal home should be cat, and other small animal, free. Considering she has never been leashed and walked before Meadow does absolutely amazing on walks and is loving her outdoor adventures and being able to sniff everything. She doesn’t pull much at all and walks well with our other two dogs. She doesn’t bother much with other people or dogs on walks but will happily greet them if you let her. She does not lack confidence on walks. She has met many other dogs on our walks without any issue or signs of aggression or reactivity. She is a little wary of strangers at first, but doesn’t take long to warm up. Meadow is definitely food motivated and knows the sound of our treat container now. She’ll sit with her foster siblings every time they come inside to receive their treats after doing their business. She eats twice daily (morning and evening). She is currently getting a fish oil (omega 3) supplement with meals which has seemed to have helped her skin and coat immensely , she does not appear to have any food sensitivities. Upon her first arrival she showed some resource guarding with food, but not toys. This has improved significantly, and only occasionally will still guard food. She needs to be feed separately if you have another dog in your home. She now gets fed in front of her crate with the door open, She is not a fast eater, and will lay down to eat most times. She takes treats very gently without snapping or grabbing at your hand. Meadow would do well in a home with a nice natured male dog but would like to be the only female dog in the home. She will also do well being the only dog and getting all of the attention for herself. Meadow is fully house trained and has had NO accidents from the day she came into our home. She sits at the back door and we let her out or occasionally she might paw at the door. Meadow is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night quietly with absolutely no issues. She will sleep from whatever time you put her in until the time you wake up, and sometimes won’t come out right away when you open the door in the morning until she does her morning stretches. During the day we’ll crate her when we leave and occasionally just for some quiet time for a few hours, we’ll put her kong and some treats in with her. Sometimes she will protest a little bit for her daytime crating but will settle after a few minutes. She will often just go into her crate on her own for an afternoon nap with the door open. Meadow LOVES toys, especially anything that squeaks, bones, balls and ropes. Basically anything you want to give her! Meadow can quite easily entertain herself with toys for a long time as well. We’ve given her the interactive games to solve and she loves those as well but she’s definitely passed level 2 and should be challenged more. Meadow is super smart and she is fun to watch trying to solve these puzzle games without destroying them! She can be rough with softer plush toys, and should be supervised when playing with them. Meadow loves chasing balls in the backyard and brings them back to you most times so you can throw it again. We use the word “drop it” so she will release the ball to us (this is also a work in progress). It’s been a good way for her to burn off some excess energy at times even after her walks. When Meadow gets the zoomies, she is fast, athletic, agile, and graceful. So much fun to watch. Meadow has become extremely comfortable in our home and is just one of the pack with our other 2 dogs. She does almost everything our other dogs do but is a little bit more well mannered and gentler! She really is a great dog and some family is going to be very lucky to have her. She loves to sit at our front window and watch the world (squirrels) go by without making a sound, she’s super content to observe things and the world around her. We’ve only heard her bark a handful of times since she arrived. She can stand at our fence and listen to the dogs of our surrounding neighbors barking at her and not bark back. Meadow does have a couple habits that I’m sure will pass over time or with the required training she will need, like, Meadow sometimes likes to poke her nose at you, or mouth at your hand mostly when she wants to play. We feel a family with children over 8 would be best suited for Meadow. She has not been around a lot of young children while with us, only preteens. Meadow has a tendency to steal shoes/slippers and sometimes laundry from underneath your nose and take it to another room to play. She has not destroyed anything in our home at the time of this writing. Meadow is like most dogs when it comes to dinner time and she smells the human food but she does not beg while you are eating at the table. She will lay on the kitchen floor while you are preparing it and be a tripping hazard so beware. If you are chopping veggies of any sort don’t bother trying to give any to Meadow as her palette will have none of it, but she’ll take it from you and go play with it. Meadow does like to nap on the couch or her dog bed, sometimes she is half on the dog bed and half off but she gave it some effort to make it all the way on. If she lays on the couch with you she will lay beside you to get pets and belly rubs but she’s not a huge couch snuggler. She will roll on to her back with ease for lots of the belly rubs if you are willing to give them to her. Meadow has not had any separation anxiety as long as she’s been with us. She has become comfortable enough to know we will return and she doesn’t have to follow us around from room to room. So, if you are looking for a medium energy, medium sized companion who is well mannered, smart, willing to learn, loves to play, and extremely cute…consider adopting Meadow. She will be up for adventures, exploring, and chilling with you at the end of each day. **IF THIS LISTING IS STILL POSTED THIS DOG IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. NO NEED TO EMAIL ASKING IF THE DOG IS AVAILABLE. PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS BIO THOROUGHLY AS INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY IS CONTAINED IN THIS LISTING** Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle. At Pound Dog Rescue, we believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, and learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. Introducing this handsome boy Banks. Banks is a 2.5 month old Husky/Collie cross, with the markings of the well known Border Collie. His dense coat is so warm and soft, a roly poly fluff ball. He will be a medium-large dog when full grown, and just a good looking boy. His adult weight will be approximately 40-60 pounds but we cannot guarantee this as he is a Manitoba mix and there may be other breeds mixed into his DNA. His colouring in mainly black and white but has some soft tan areas around his cheeks, stunning. Just look at those cute floppy ears and his big puppy dog eyes. Please read up on both the Husky and Border Collie Breeds to know that he will be the right choice for you. This combination of breeds you can count on him being intelligent and athletic. I can tell you that these trails are very prominent even now. Banks loves his training in-between play times. He is smart, sweet, easy going, affectionate and friendly. So if you’re looking for a high energy, fun, loving and loyal four legged companion he may be your boy. Banks came to his foster family home at 7 weeks old, with another puppy. He was from a remote northern area in Manitoba, found wandering on his own so did not have the best start in life. He is now on top quality food, has been vet checked receiving the proper vaccines for his age and has a good bill of health. It only took him a few weeks to feel comfortable around us and his new environment. He is loving having another friend (pup she came with) and some older foster sibling dog and humans. Banks is exactly what you would expect of a Husky/Collie cross puppy, he is adorably goofy, friendly, super playful, and so sweet. He’s a little goof ball when its play/training time and a perfect cuddler when you need that rest time. Banks is dependent on his human company, likes to be where you are and gives a few whines if you shut the door like when you’re in the bathroom. He would rather be in there with you. You can expect him to be in your way when walking, turning and right up with you on the couch or laying at your feet. Even though he is a shadow he will nap, on his own or in his crate. Banks is a motivated pup, he needs a great human leader to bring him to be that ideal dog everyone thinks about and wants. This is why we are a big believer on training classes. We require all our rescues to attend beginner and level 1 obedience/training classes. Banks will not reach his potential if he doesn’t have daily training in his life, and what you learn in classes it will be all about receptiveness. His favourite part of the day is when we work on his training/commands and yes, it is because he loves her reward treats. Since Banks is so young still we concentrate on his confidence, commands and behaviours. We expose him to as many object, noises, obstacles we can around us. We take him on little trail walks around are property and cottage, getting him to navigate around things, over/under things and just to explore ‘close’ on his own. The whole time doing this we work on his recall ‘come’, which he is fantastic at. He will lay down ‘down’, and go back up to a sit from the down position. He is currently working on shaking a paw ‘paw’. With being a puppy the behaviour we are constantly working on are the nippy of the hands, which is a normal thing for puppies. Banks has caught on to potty training pretty quickly. If he has an accident in the house, it’s by no means his fault. Like all puppies he needs constant supervision and if he is not in your sight you will not pick up on his clue that he needs to go out potty. Banks is 90% housetrained now. Banks goes to the door and when he gets to the grass yard he runs to the end and does his #2 duty in the bushes, he likes his privacy. Soon as he is done he comes out running like crazy and right to me cuz he knows he will get that treat for doing a good job. When he cannot be supervised the crate is a great way to control no accidents. Banks will sleep in his crate overnight and during day. He would rather sleep/nap next to you if your on the couch, but he will easily also pass out in the crate. Crate time especially at night will be something you might have to experiment with, right now he needs some time with you by the crates side to get comfortable. I usually stand or sit by it so he can see me and he whines for a little but eventually falls asleep. With being in a new environment may take him some time to settle. Just stay strong! Banks perfect home will be one with energetic active humans who love him endlessly. We believe he could go to a home with kids ages 8+ as long as they are well versed in appropriate play with dogs and involved in his training. A well natured dog in the household will be fine, he might need some help understands boundaries though. He can be a pest barking to get the attention he wants from them. We have two family dogs, one will put him in his spot the other will tolerate him. He will enjoy having another young dog sibling to hand and play with. He doesn’t have cats in his foster home so can’t say how he will be, but at this age it will be more the cat to adapt then the pup. Banks ideal situation would be one where he can be with his humans for majority of the day as he is showing a little separation anxiety. He would love joining his humans on their day excursions trips instead of being left behind. At his age he will not be able to be in his crate for long periods, his bladder its just not mature enough. If both family members work a full day you will have to work a schedule where someone comes home a few times during the day to let him out and give him a little playtime or walk. It would just not be fair for him to be cooped up all day in a crate. Your floor boards or furniture will end up being his chew toy as he will not get the adequate amount of exercise. With Banks breed he would need a fairly large fenced yard. Right now he has a large yard to play in, and does like to roam pretty much the whole yard. He likes the shaded areas, since he has a thicker coat. He is not the type of dog that wants to lay around by himself in the yard, would rather be inside with his humans. Right now at Banks age he gets short walks, just to expose him to noises and the leash. He does however have lots of outside playtime, as long as it not to hot. Once bigger Banks will need a few long walks a day. He also will likely be a great running/biking partner. The best dog is a dog that gets the physical and mental stimulation they need. If you are working out of the house be prepared to take him for one of those walks in the morning before being put in his crate. Banks would love his humans/family to have a very outdoors active lifestyle. Banks loves to play fetch, tug, run around with stuffy’s and chew on his nylon bones. He also can keep himself occupied with his toys on his own. He has been on long car rides and usually take 10-15 to calm down. A good walk or play beforehand will help him settle quicker. Banks has not had a chance to be social with other dogs other than the ones he is being fostered with. He does get startled when any dogs in the neighbourhood bark, which will change in time. Banks is too little to be neutered before adoption so potential adopters must live within a reasonable distance (within an hour) of Cambridge as she must be returned to our vet at 6 months of age to be neutered (included in adoption cost). Adopters must be able to drop off the pup in the morning and pick up later that day for this surgery. Adopters will be responsible for the continuation of puppy vaccinations and all other required vet care at their veterinarian of choice. He will be adopted out on a contract enforcing the return for spay at our veterinarian. Bank is a good puppy, but a puppy none the less and puppies are tiring and need constant support while they grow and navigate the world. Please be honest with yourself if you have the time and energy to focus on a puppy and properly train, exercise and socialize one. Puppies are a TON of work and not everyone has the schedule, or energy or time to raise a puppy properly. Overall Banks is the epitome of what you would expect of a Husky/Collie cross puppy. He is smart, easy going, sweet, fun, active and loyal, a companion animal through and through. Banks is going to make a family VERY happy and will be a great addition to anyone who has a lot of time and love to give. We cannot wait to see Banks in his forever home so that he can continue to give his whole heart to his humans. Karmela is a 2.5 month old Husky/Collie cross, with husky facial markings. She will be a medium-large dog when full grown, and just a beautiful girl. Her adult weight will be approximately 40-50 pounds but we cannot make any guarantees as she is a Manitoba mix and can have a number of other breeds mixed in . We believe she could go to a home with kids ages 8+ as long as they are well versed in appropriate play with dogs and involved in her training. A well natured male dog in the household will be fine, she understands her boundaries with our two family dogs. She doesn’t have cats in her foster home so can’t say how she will be, but at this age it will be more the cat to adapt then the pup. Karmela’s ideal situation would be one where she can be with her humans for majority of the day, join them on their day excursions trips instead of being left behind. At her age she will not be able to be in her crate for long periods, her bladder its just not mature enough. If both family members work a full day you will have to work a schedule where someone comes home a few times during the day to let her out and give her a little playtime or walk. It would just not be fair for this bundle of fun to be cooped up all day in a crate. Your floor boards or furniture will end up being her chew toy as she will not get the adequate amount of exercise. With Karmela’s breed she would need a fairly large fenced yard. Right now she has a large yard to play in, and does like to roam pretty much the whole yard. Her favourite is to run from one end to the other, just because. Karmela will help with any outside tasks you do, especially the gardening. She is not a big digger just curious and gets in the way. Right now at Karmela’s age she gets short walks, just to expose her to noises and the leash. She does however have lots of outside playtime. Karmela will need a few long walks a day. She also will likely be a great running/biking partner. The best dog is a dog that gets the physical and mental stimulation they need. If you are working out of the house be prepared to take her for one of those walks in the morning before being put in her crate. Kamela would love her humans/family to have a very outdoors active lifestyle. Karmela loves to play fetch, tug, run around with stuffy’s and chew on her nylon bones. She also can keep herself occupied with her toys on her own. She has been on long car rides and usually will just fall asleep, as long a she gets a walk or play before hand. Karmela has not had a chance to be social with other dogs other than the ones she is being fostered with. She does get startled when any dogs in the neighbourhood bark, which will change in time. Karmela is a good puppy, but a puppy none the less and puppies are tiring and need constant support while they grow and navigate the world. Please be honest with yourself if you have the time and energy to focus on a puppy and properly train, exercise and socialize one. Puppies are a TON of work and not everyone has the schedule, or energy or time to raise a puppy properly. Overall Karmela is the epitome of what you would expect of a Husky/Collie cross puppy. She is smart, curious, sweet, fun, active and loyal, a companion animal through and through. Karmela is going to make a family VERY happy and will be a great addition to anyone who has a lot of time and love to give. We cannot wait to see Karmela in her forever home so that she can continue to give her whole heart to her humans. MORE PHOTOS/VIDEOS: https://www.facebook.com/TLCRR https://www.instagram.com/taffyslegacycaninerescue https://www.taffyslegacy.com/berlin First Impressions: Dogs: Good with dogs, happy to engage and LOVES to play with dogs he meets. Does like to be pushy and take/share dog beds and toys. Does listen to other dog's corrections. Cats: Loves cats, is gentle and gets along with feline friends Kids: Grew up around a toddler and baby, he loved his human sisters and was very gentle with them Strangers: He will growl very quietly, or bark, at people in his home that he does not know. He does not like being pet, or being starred at by people he is not familiar with, and it is best he is advocated for in these situations. He is currently learning, "Quiet" and continued training is being put into his socialization skills. When meeting people outside, he can be timid and prefers not to be pet, but does not growl or bark at them. If they own a dog, he is less apprehensive to engage with them and may allow them to pet him, and may even give them kisses on their hand before moving away from them. It only takes a few times meeting a stranger outdoors to be fully comfortable and confident around them, whereas indoors, it can take multiple meetings before he is accepting of them being in his space. Crate Skills: Crate trained. He is always a happy pup to snuggle up and take a nice snooze when there is a blanket in his crate. He does take a few days to settle into new environments and will lightly cry to get attention, but settles in time. Leash skills: Great leash skills. He is walked on a transitional leash as he can be skittish of cars, or people running by. He walks nicely in a loose leash walk most of the time, although he can surprise you with random puppy zoomies! Energy Level: Berlin is currently a low energy pup, he only needs an hour of walking per day. In his current foster home he gets more than required, as he gets to spend about an hour playing in the backyard with his canine companions in the morning (weather permitted), and also gets time to play tug in the evenings with his humans. He loves to play and is never discouraged as we want him to live his best life! Confidence: Berlin is an anxious dog and would do best in a home devoted to building his confidence. He is very smart, and very food motivated, which will make training him fun for all parties! Affection: Berlin is not the kind of dog that demands affection from his people, however he is still very much a love bug and soaks up all of the affection his family is willing to provide him. He would prefer to be able to follow his people around to see what they are getting up to but will wander off to lay in other areas of the house for periods of time. Training: Berlin is always eager to train when kibble is involved. He is very keen and understands his cues well, always ready to learn new things for rewards. He knows lots of commands already, and is very keen to learning more Behavioural: Berlin is overexcited by food and will whine, cry and have mini bouncing tantrums when food is being prepared for his breakfast and dinner, or if any of the other resident dogs are being fed. Although a good food drive makes training much easier, we are working to lessen the excitement around food and reduce demand crying for food. Berlin has a condition called pulmonic dysplasia which is causing stenosis which means he is at risk for arrhythmias, symptoms (such as syncope/fainting), and sudden death. Berlin had a successful balloon valvuloplasty surgery on November 22nd/23. This has significantly increased his quality and length of life. At this time, the Cardiac specialists will be completing a follow up echocardiogram in February. The results will provide us with information on Berlin's current heart health post surgery, and next steps for his on-going health care. At this time, it is anticipated he will require an additional follow up echocardiogram 6-12 months after his February follow up, with potential of annual follows ups thereafter. He is currently on one heart medication, Sotalol, which he may or may not be on long-term depending on his echo results. For 2 months worth of Sotalol pills it is $24 at your local pharmacy, which is currently given every 12 hours (2xday). We are still learning about Berlin, and will update his profile more once she settles into her new foster home. ADOPTION PROCESS: taffyslegacy.com/adoption-process

Story
Pebbles | Female | 16 Weeks | Husky Mix| Dogs: Yes | Cats: Yes | Kids: Yes Meet Daisy! Daisy came down south with her brothers and sisters to find a new family! Daisy is a typical husky mix gal! She’s got a lot of energy and curiosity to do all the things! Pebbles would love a big backyard or an active person to get her energy out. Pebbles is a smart pup and is very food motivated. She is eager to learn and should be easy to train. Pebbles is fearless when it comes to many things… she loves to explore, that includes climbing and jumping and running all over the place. As mentioned before someone that is active, maybe goes on lots of hikes would really be ideal to Pebbles! She loves being outside and exploring the world. Although they may be cute, puppies are a lot of work! Puppies need families that are home often to continue working on their house training and socialization. Their adoptive family must be committed to registering them for obedience classes. Daisy is current on age appropriate vaccines. She is being fostered in Cambridge, ON. ?
