Story
Meet Muttly! Muttly is a sweetheart who’s truly too good to be true. This gentle, easygoing boy is the full package - affectionate, social, playful, and endlessly lovable. He’s never met a person or dog he didn’t like and greets everyone with a wagging tail and calm enthusiasm. Muttly is happiest when he’s with his people - whether curled up beside you for snuggles or tagging along for a walk or play session in the yard. Muttly currently lives with another dog and loves canine companionship. He’d likely thrive with a dog sibling, but he’d also do great as your one-and-only if you’re home often and ready to shower him with love. He’s met cats and children on walks and has always been relaxed and unbothered - his gentle nature suggests he could happily live with either, given proper introductions. He’s not reactive to noises, other animals, or traffic, and is completely unfazed by the hustle and bustle of city life. Muttly is house trained and sleeps soundly in his crate overnight (as long as it’s near you!), though he’s still working on being alone in a crate during the day. He’s a bit of a velcro dog, following his people around the house, but he’s able to settle independently when needed. He’s also working on basic cues like “sit” and “down,” and with his love of food and attention, he’ll thrive with continued positive reinforcement training. Muttly is truly a dream dog - sweet, snuggly, and ready to be someone’s best friend. Whether you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, a cuddly couch companion, or a pup to grow with your family, Muttly might just be your perfect match. Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Muttly? Apply Now! https://newcollar.co/apply-to-adopt

Boone / Male Neutered / 2 Years / Northern Mix / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: Yes / Location: Strathroy Meet Boone! Boone is one of the amazing adult dogs who came to us during the wildfire evacuations — and he’s proven to be the goodest boy ever since! Boone is a chill, affectionate pup who just wants to hang out with his people. He’ll happily lounge at your feet, go for woodland walks, and ride shotgun on any adventure (especially if there’s a pup cup involved! ). He LOVES playing in the sandbox — so if he looks a little dusty in photos, now you know why! But don’t worry, Boone doesn’t mind a trip to Pet Valu for a good bath and brush, which is great considering how much he enjoys getting dirty. He’s playful but calm, walks beautifully on leash (unless there’s a squirrel ), and redirects like a champ with a gentle “no.” He meets other dogs politely on walks and loves having doggy friends, but he’d also be perfectly content as a solo pup. Friendly with dogs Respectful of cats Loves car rides, chew toys, and being brushed Neutered, microchipped & up-to-date on vaccines Boone might be a little shy at first, but one pet and he’s your best friend for life. Looking for the perfect blend of adventure buddy and couch companion? Boone just might be your guy. Now accepting applications https://forms.gle/kWPXHcHpuhMpRbk68

Story
Adele / Spayed Female / 2 years / 55lbs / Northern Mix Breed / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Not Tested / Kids: Yes / Location: Clarington 📍 Hi everyone – it’s Adele here! I just wanted to check in and share a bit more about myself now that I’ve had some time to settle into my new foster home. I’ve been getting used to the routine, making friends with the other dogs, and just enjoying the good life! Here’s a little about me: I love playing – with other pups or even on my own! Toys are the best, especially the squeaky, squishy, and plushie ones. I’m a big fan of cuddles and affection, and I don’t mind sharing the love with my doggo buddies either. I’m a happy, playful girl with a gentle heart. I’ve got a sweet and sensitive soul, and all I really want is a forever home to call my own. When I first came to HHK9, I was scared. It was my first time living in a real home, and being left alone felt overwhelming. I needed a little help with anxiety at first, but I don’t need medication anymore – I’ve come a long way! Having another dog around helps a lot, and I’d really love a home with a canine companion. Good news: I’m crate trained, housebroken, and learning leash manners. I might be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I’ll be your most loyal and loving sidekick. As for cats – I haven’t met any yet, but I might be okay with a dog-savvy one! Here’s what my foster mom says about me: “Meet Adele – your loyal, loving shadow. She’s a happy, affectionate girl who’s come so far. Adele thrives with routine, calm energy, and gentle guidance. She’s low-anxiety most of the time, and she’s learning to relax and enjoy her own space. It took her a week to feel brave enough to hop on the couch—now she’s a full-time cuddle bug! Adele is playful, food-motivated, and smart. She loves other dogs and learns quickly. She’s house and crate trained, and her leash skills are improving every day. Her ideal home? A calm, patient one with structure, love, and either a dog sibling or a playful human. Adele is a sweet soul who just wants to be part of your world.” Think you might be my forever person? I’m ready when you are. Adele has been spayed and microchipped. She is current on vaccines. She is being fostered in Durham County. Apply to adopt! https://forms.gle/95Vv6fUGzHDFP1jP9

Echo / Female / 10 weeks / Northern Mix / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: Yes / Location: Oshawa 📍 🐾 Say hello to Echo! 🐾 Echo is Molly’s sister and just as cute — maybe even cuter (don’t tell Molly! 😉). She’s full of spunk, sweetness, and that irresistible puppy charm 💕 Echo might be a black puppy — and sadly, black dogs are often overlooked — but let us tell you, anyone who passes this girl up is seriously missing out. Her personality is perfection. ✨ Echo loves: ⚽️ Playing ball with her foster sister 🧸 Chewing toys and stuffed animals 🐶 Zoomies around the yard 💤 Cozy naps with her doggy pals This playful, curious, and confident pup is always ready for her next adventure. She’s brave, bold, and so much fun to have around! Echo is currently working on her crate and potty training like a champ — but as a young pup, she’ll need a family ready to keep up her training and guide her as she grows. She’d absolutely thrive in a home with another friendly dog and an active lifestyle to match her energy. Echo is full of love and ready to give it all to her forever family 💕 Echo is current on age appropriate vaccines and has been microchipped. Apply to adopt! https://forms.gle/Dv426M3Tuz9eEtnF6

Rose / Female / 9 weeks / Northern Mix / Dogs: Yes / Cats: Yes / Kids: Yes / Location: Bowmanville Meet Rose! Rose came to us from our friends at Northern Reach Network, originally from Cat Lake, and made the long journey south with her sister to find a forever home. This playful, friendly girl lives for outdoor time—whether it’s lounging on the deck or stretching out in the grass, she’s a true northern pup through and through! She loves a good game of tug or chasing a ball around, and when it’s time to wind down, you’ll find her curled up for a cozy nap. She’s smart, sweet, and always ready for her next adventure—nothing is slowing this curious girl down! Rose is doing amazing with crate training and sleeps like a champ while you’re away. House training is coming along great, but she’s still young and will need continued guidance. She loves playing with her foster siblings and racing around the yard! Rose is the whole package—loving, playful, outdoorsy, and oh-so-snuggly. Her forever family is out there, and we know they’ll be lucky to have her! Rose is current on age appropriate vaccines and is microchipped. Apply to adopt! https://forms.gle/zPpKuELkMacPXPiUA
