Story
Here is a heartwarming adoption biography for your female dog, Sakari: Sakari is a young female dog with many endearing qualities. We rescued her from an abusive home at 3 months old and she came to us very scared and very neglected .She is affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful, smart, protective, brave, curious, independent, funny, athletic, dignified, and a couch potato when the time calls for it. She's quiet, but never shy of showing her loved ones affection with sweet doggy kisses once she breaks out of her shell. She is good with other dogs her size and would be a great addition to any family. Sakari does not like cats, as she will chase them. She is a well-rounded dog with many unique personality traits. She is young and has many years of love and companionship to offer to her future family. We hope Sakari finds her forever home filled with love, warmth, and belly scratches very soon! If you are interested in meeting her, please go directly to our website at savingonepawatatimerescue.org to complete an adoption application.

Story
Niska is 7 years old, we adopted her when she was 4 months old. She is very sweet, loving, and sassy! She loves to be with her people at all times and follows us around everywhere! She's used to being inside the house with us, so the ideal home would be someone who could keep her with them inside, not put out in a yard or kennel all the time. She's not good with small animals at all, and has killed a couple, so needs a cat/small animal free home. She does love people and dogs though, and absolutely loves children. Though after our elderly German shepherd passed away, she has become a lot more insecure and fearful. She takes a little longer to warm up and feel comfortable now. I will be extremely picky about the home she goes to. Also only people with husky experience will be considered! She knows several commands but chooses when she wants to listen! She does pull on the leash. Niska really likes having a set routine/schedule. She loves food and is highly food motivated.

Story
Everyone meet Buck I have had him for the last couple of months. My ex got theman apartment dog for the kid's birthday and quickly realized that it wasn't going to work. As a dog this size is way to big for an apartment. I decided to help out since my kids liked him, but I just do not have enough time or fences to give him a really happy free life. He likes to roam around when he is not tied up which is not going to work with my neighborhood. He is really nice, but a very big guy. He needs a place he can roam or at least with adequate space and fences. He will make a great dog! The only bad thing I have noticed is he chasses birds so if you have chickens you'll need to train him to leave them alone. He really is a very sweet dog and I don't want to leave him tied up he's getting a bit depressed. Ill have to eventually take him to SafeHaven if I cannot find a re-home. I am not sure of his medical history.

Story
Hi, I'm Nina, a 12-year-old Alaskan Shepherd/Husky mix. I might be a bit older, but I've got plenty of love and energy to share! During the day, I enjoy lounging around and taking naps, but I'll definitely let you know when I need to go out or want some attention. Despite being a husky, I'm not aloof at all. I love being brushed and sitting outside with my person - it's one of my favorite pastimes. I'm crate trained and sleep comfortably in my crate at night, though I also enjoy sleeping outside of it too. I'm great with kids and other people once I get to know you. I'm housetrained and know basic commands, especially when treats are involved. I'm a smart cookie and will check the yard for any escape routes, so it's important that fences and gates are secure. I enjoy going for a mile walk twice a day, and I could even go longer, but my human gets tired. On walks, my husky side really comes out - I like to be in front a little and can get easily distracted by other dogs or cats. I don't like being outside alone for long periods, and I really don't get along with cats. If given the chance, I might chase chickens too. I will be your calm, wise companion and will bring so much joy and love to your life.

Story
**My adoption fee has been waived! You will still be required to go through adoption counseling and pay for a license.**Hi, I'm Slick! I'm about 2 years old and weigh 48 pounds. I have a behavior waiver staff can discuss with you further.Do you like...Dogs? I've done well meeting some dogs at the shelter. Please bring any dogs in the home to meet to see how we get along.Cats? Staff suspect I would be most successful in a home without cats or small animals.Kids? I've knocked young kiddos over in a previous home and would like to start out meeting kiddos 10+.Anything else you'd like us to know, Slick? I really enjoy taking long walks with staff members and hanging out with my doggy pals. I'm a very sweet, happy boy looking for a loving forever home!I came into the shelter as a stray and the above information is all recommendations based on my behavior seen at the shelter. I have no known history. Expect to learn more about me after adoption. It is unknown how this animal will do in their new home as all animals can be different with each person. It is important to take this into consideration when thinking about adopting and making sure you are prepared to work with any potential medical or behavior issues that occur after adoption. My adoption fee includes my spay/neuter, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me! If you think we would be a good match come on down and ask to meet me! I'm looking for my forever home and it could be with you!ADOPTION INFORMATION: If you live in the city of Eugene or in Lane County you will be purchasing a dog license in addition to the adoption fee. You will get to choose between a one year, two year, or three year license. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503.
