Story
Got Slick from Greenhill about two years ago. Was a very all over the place dog. Pulled on the leash. Was nippy and very chaotic over all. Trained a lot of problems out of him. He is able to walk amazing by your side with an e collar on. Otherwise he is very husky like in a rebellious do whatever he wants way. He is an amazing dog and I have had him around deer, rabbits, and cats. All of which he has chased but then sniffs and tries to play with. Now he is a husky so he could possibly have a prey drive activate and I would be weary of that. He is a very loving dog and needs his exercise. He needs a home with a yard and some people or dogs to play with. He plays great with dogs. I have to come to terms with reality and a husky is not a trailer life dog. His needs are not met and that is why I have chosen to get rid of him. I also work over 10 hours a day so he is practically neglected for 18 hours. I’ve put time into him and I really want to see him go toa good home. Thanks for looking!

Story
Criddle was found with Mia on 9/6/26 at the Oakridge Fire Station. He came into the shelter already neutered. If you believe this is your missing dog, please contact the shelter at (541) 689-1503. Since this dog is new to the shelter and we are still looking for their family, they are not viewable on the adoption floor at this time. The shelter staff is giving me some time to settle in and adjust to this new place. As we get to know each other a little better, the behavior team and veterinary staff will then be evaluating my needs. Please stay tuned for my updated information! Our shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable and for most dogs we are only guessing at their primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. This pet is located at Greenhill Humane Society. 88530 Greenhill Road, Eugene, OR 97402 (541) 689-1503. Adoption Fee: $210Weight: 86.6 lbsArrival Date: 8/27/26Microchip ID#: 985141001980890Meet Barry! Barry is a 7-year-old Husky gentleman who is ready to put his best paw forward and find a family to call his own. This handsome senior has plenty of life left to enjoy—and we’d love to see his next chapter filled with comfort, companionship, and all the good things he deserves.Barry is currently carrying a few extra pounds, so he’s looking for a family who will be his wellness team—helping him get moving, serving up nutritious meals, and keeping up with his veterinary care. Think of it as a little weight-loss journey with a very fluffy coach. Barry also has one important request: please leave the ears alone. He’s not a fan of having them touched, and he wants his future family to respect that boundary. Give him space where he needs it, let him build trust at his own pace, and show him that his people will listen when he says, “No thank you.”Senior dogs have a special way of appreciating the simple things, and Barry is ready for those simple things to be his new normal—a comfy place to relax, a family who understands him, and someone who thinks he’s pretty darn wonderful exactly as he is. If you have room in your heart for a handsome Husky who deserves a second chance, come meet Barry at SafeHaven today!

Story
Jake is approximately two and a half years old and came from a shelter situation in Huron, Ca. I was told he likely spent much of his early life confined to a cage, so he is shy and slow to trust new people. He is non-aggressive and very sweet once he bonds with someone.I have worked with him and his sister Maggie every day, and they have both made progress. Jake can walk on a leash and knows simple commands, but he is still nervous around new people particularly men.Jake is very bonded with Maggie and they are inseparable. They sleep together, look for each other when separated, and are much more confident together, so they should be placed in a home together.I have a larger property and it's very hard to keep them in the fence. Our neighbors have complained to the county so I must find a new home as I cannot keep them tied up all the time. I am trying to find the right placement for both of them together.
