Story
Azzie is a great dog full of lots of joy and love. He is very high energy and needs a lot of attention. He has some aggression with his food and certain bones, but will share all toys, his bed, water bowls and is generally very submissive. He does great with toddlers and children however not crawling infants. He is afraid of crawling infants and sometimes gets aggressive. He is a large dog that jumps out of excitement as well. Overall Azzie deserves a good outdoor environment with other dogs and a loving family because that’s what he offers every day.

Story
Meet Blue 💙 This 1‑year‑old husky is an active, energetic young dog who still behaves very much like a puppy. He has no known history of meeting other dogs, but he previously lived with cats and did well in that environment. His age and breed mean he will benefit from consistent exercise, structure, and continued training. He has a positive track record with meeting young children. Families considering adoption should be prepared for a high‑energy companion who is still learning and maturing. With appropriate guidance, this young husky has the potential to become a well‑rounded and loyal family dog. Apply to adopt today, or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐾

Story
Some dogs burst into a room and instantly steal the spotlight… and some quietly stand back, watch, and wait until they know they’re safe. Our husky is one of those dogs. This beautiful pup is looking for a patient, understanding home that will let them move at their own pace. Shelter life can feel overwhelming, and while they may come across as nervous or unsure at first, underneath it all is a gentle dog who wants connection—they just need time to trust. Once comfortable, you’ll start to see little glimpses of their personality come through: curious looks, quiet companionship, exploring outside, and those classic husky moments that remind you there’s a playful heart in there. This isn’t a dog looking for perfection—just someone willing to say, “It’s okay, I’ll give you time.” Slow introductions, routine, and patience will go a long way in helping this pup feel safe and confident. A calmer home may be the best fit while they continue building confidence. Experience with shy or nervous dogs is a plus, but the biggest requirement is kindness and understanding. If you believe the best relationships are the ones built slowly and with trust, this husky may just be waiting for you. 🐺🤍

Story
Meet Cindy Lou! This beautiful senior Siberian Husky is searching for the forever home and loving family she deserves. After going through a difficult chapter in her life, Cindy Lou is now healthy, happy, and ready for a fresh start with someone she can truly call her own. This girl was found very emaciated in the MS woods. Her finder kept her for a bit and then placed her in a rescue foster home. Surprising to all, she gave birth to two puppies shortly after arriving there. Now that she has successfully finished taking care of them, she is ready to be adopted.Cindy Lou absolutely adores affection. Her favorite thing is to flop over for endless belly rubs and soak up all the love she can get. She also enjoys calm, relaxing walks and spending quiet time with her people. While she does enjoy having her large stuffed toys nearby, she’s proven to be very gentle with them — she’d much rather lounge around, nap, and enjoy the easygoing life these days.If you’re looking for a sweet, laid-back companion with a loving heart and gentle spirit, Cindy Lou could be the perfect addition to your family.Name: Cindy LouBreed: Siberian Husky/Crossbreed   Sex: FemaleAge: 8 years  (estimated)Weight: 60.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Positive, but has completed her treatment!!Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $400.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)                       $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently:    MississippiIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
