Meet Firulais! This sweet boy is as big, floofy, and soft as you could imagine. Though "firulais" is generally an affectionate name for a mixed-breed or stray dog, this boy has always been a spoiled house pet with a family to dote on him. He's rather large for a husky at over 70 lbs, but he's got the typical husky howl and love for long walks. Though he's fully able to keep up with you on all your walks, hikes, and adventures, he's not an overly high energy dog and he's able to settle down and sleep the day away while his people are away at work. He's fully house trained and not destructive in the home - a perfect and adorable roommate! Firulais bonds deeply with his person and is a friendly and affectionate dog who loves to cuddle and snuggle up on the couch or bed. He likes to greet strangers when he runs into them on walks and might even give them an "awoooooo!" if they stop to say hello. That said, Firulais would do best in a home with only one person - he has previously shown some resource guarding behavior around his favorite person in the home. To set him up for success and a conflict-free life, we believe his ideal home would include just Firulais and a human to spoil and love him. Firulais is in our special adoption program which sets adopters and their new pets up for success with pre and post adoption counseling. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the New England area and delivered in RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 150.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 150.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. Kash is an ultra cool looking mystery mutt....husky mix of some kind, although if you like the look of Ibizan or Pharaoh Hounds he should appeal to you, and he is bound to draw attention wherever he goes! And he won't mind! This four to five month old pup is friendly, well adjusted and takes things in stride. He was pulled from a high intake shelter in Houston, Texas but despite a rough start to life seems quite well adjusted. He is thoughtful, sensible, affectionate and loves to play! He needs to learn all the ropes as a know-nothing youngster, but is bright and will be a lovely pupil for whatever family is ready to put the time into him. Kash is slated to leave for Rhode Island on 10/22 to arrive here next weekend in anticipation of the AlwaysAdopt event on 11/7, but will touch Rhode Island soil neutered and available for meet-and-greets and possible adoption. Early applications are encouraged and are available from Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com, who also can answer whatever questions you might have about this lovely puppy. Southpaws is proud to hold its adoption fee at $450 but unfortunately due to state restrictions cannot adopt to residents of Massahusetts or New Hampshire.
