Story
Lumen is an adorable, almost 1-year-old spayed female Husky mix who was found as a stray on the streets of Memphis when she was a baby. Lumen was adopted by a family who decided she wasn't a good match for them after she had a medical issue that has since been resolved - their loss. This girl is a lovebug with a side of chaos! Affectionate to a fault, she’s always ready for a snuggle, but don’t let that fool you—she’s got enough energy to power a small city. She adores other dogs, especially if they’re down for rough-and-tumble play that might resemble a WWE match more than a polite meet-and-greet. She lived with cats in her Tennessee foster home but has not lived with cats for a while now. She’s got a particular dietary need, so you'll need to add some enzymes to her food—because even a wild spirit like hers needs a bit of help digesting all that adventure. The enzymes are not expensive. When it comes to obedience, she’s mastered “sit” and “wait,” but when it’s time for a walk, well, let’s say leash training is still a work in progress—so consider this a “continuing education” opportunity for both of you!Oh, and did we mention she gets motion sickness? Yep, it's only the best road trip if you're cool with frequent pit stops. But with her sweet nature and boundless affection, you’ll forgive the occasional car ride drama!Name: LumenBreed: HuskySex: FemaleAge: 11 months  (estimated)Weight: 40.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  ConnecticutIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
Meet Handsome Oscar!Oscar is an active, sweet, and lovable husky with a heart full of resilience and charm. He was found running through a southern neighborhood with a broken leg but has made an incredible recovery. After six weeks in a splint, he’s back on his feet, ready for fun, with only a slight limp that should improve over time. Best of all, he has no limitations on his activities!Oscar loves to stay close to his people. His favorite spot during the day is under his foster mom’s desk while she works. He’s a fan of cozy spaces and often naps under or behind furniture. Although crate-trained and happy to use it occasionally, Oscar prefers choosing his own comfy spots to rest. This handsome guy is housetrained with a doggie door, though he’s still learning not to chew on non-dog items. He’ll need supervision and a good supply of chew toys to help him stay on track.Oscar can be skittish around new people, barking and keeping his distance at first. He warms up with time and patience, preferring calm introductions at eye level. Once he feels secure, he’s a snuggle champion who adores petting and attention. He’s not a fan of loud noises but otherwise thrives in a loving, stable environment.Great with other dogs and kids...as fosters grandchildren (1, 3, 7) are with him almost daily and frequently overnight. He enjoys romping around with both his canine foster siblings and the kids, although he can be a bit of a roughhouser when he’s having fun. He’s also learning the art of fetch—he’ll happily retrieve a toy but isn’t quite sure what to do with it yet!Oscar is a sweet, playful soul who just wants to love and be loved. If you have some husky breed experience and are ready for an affectionate companion with a zest for life, Oscar is your guy!Name: OscarBreed: HuskySex: MaleAge: 10 months  (estimated)Weight: 50.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Coco, a 9-month-old husky mix whose striking blue eyes helped save her from a rural animal control.  Coco’s now-foster mom recognized those icy blue eyes because she had seen them before in two brothers she had saved from the same place just a few months prior (Anyone remember Nate and his beautiful blue eyes?!?). She knew this girl had to be the sister and that she couldn’t be left behind just because she was turned in at a later date. Coco is quickly shaking off the effects of life in animal control and adjusting to life in a real home. She sleeps quietly in a crate at night as long as she’s in the same room as her human, and she hasn’t had any accidents in the house. She rides beautifully in the car. She jumps right in and has zero car sickness. She’s also great on a leash and super easy to walk.  Coco is in a foster home with dogs of all ages, and she gets along with them all splendidly. She loves to play but avoids conflict like a pro. Her brothers both went to homes with small children, so we’re sure Coco would adore children as well! She’s super friendly to everyone she meets.  Coco is both pretty and petite! Currently weighing only 35 lbs., we think Coco will top out in the low 40s. She was named Coco for her chocolate-brown coat. Her nicknames include Coco Bean and Coco Puff, with some more variations come!  Coco would be a great addition to almost any family. She’s easygoing and gets easier with each passing day. She’s super smart and a fast learner. Coco would love an active family who wants to walk her daily and take her on all their adventures. She’s well-suited to go everywhere with her new family!

Story
Simba is a 7-month-old, 50-pound bundle of energy and love, ready to find his forever home! With one striking blue eye and a gentle demeanor, this handsome boy has a big heart to match his growing size. He’s a great mix of playful and snuggly—perfect for anyone looking for a loving, loyal companion.Simba is currently in a foster home where he’s been showing off his friendly personality. He lives with 7 other dogs ranging from 30lbs and up. He’s great with younger, playful dogs and has a lot of energy to burn. Though he can be a bit too much for older dogs at times, he’s learning boundaries and responds well when corrected. While he’s not a fan of the crate yet, Simba is housebroken and is doing well with his leash training. He’s smart and will thrive with continued training. This sweet boy loves being around people, especially kids! His foster family includes an 8-year-old girl, and Simba has been so gentle and loving with her. He’s also fantastic in the car—he recently laid in his young foster sister’s lap during a long drive.Simba does have some anxiety about being left alone or separated from his people. He loves to be wherever you are and will do his best to stick close. He may try to jump gates or knock them over if he feels left out, but with the right guidance and a little patience, he’s learning to adjust. He would do best in a home with experienced husky owners or someone who understands the importance of ongoing training. Simba will be a big, fun-loving boy, and in return for your care and training, he’ll reward you with endless loyalty and joy.If you’re looking for a fun, energetic, and loving companion, Simba might be your perfect match!Check out this boy in action:https://youtube.com/shorts/y8wUeP33NtM?si=xhMS6PqWHoERopZUName: SimbaBreed: Husky/Labrador RetrieverSex: MaleAge: 7 months (estimated)Weight: 50lbSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: will be tested Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: 5+Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
