Story
Sparrow isn’t looking for just any home — he’s looking for his person. Sparrow is the kind of dog who values his space and likes to move at his own pace. He’s not the type to instantly jump into your lap or trust right away, and that’s okay. The people who connect best with Sparrow will understand that trust is earned, boundaries matter, and relationships take time. His perfect days are spent outside exploring, enjoying fresh air, long walks, and taking in nature. A large yard, wooded property, or even a farm setting would be a dream for him. (On those extra hot summer days though, Sparrow absolutely appreciates coming inside to cool down and relax.) Sparrow will need multiple meet-and-greets and patience while building trust with his future family. Once he feels safe, he shows more of who he truly is — but he needs someone willing to let him get there in his own time. Because Sparrow prefers predictability and respecting personal space, a home without small children and ideally without other pets may be in his best interest. He isn’t for everyone — but for the right person, Sparrow may become the most rewarding connection. If you believe in earning trust, slow moments, and adventure together… Sparrow might be waiting for you. ❤️

Story
If Raquel could talk, she’d probably say, “Hey folks, I’m pretty much the perfect Husky. Come and get me!” Unlike some of her more ‘talkative’ Husky friends, Raquel is actually a pretty quiet gal—at least she is here at the shelter. She loves bouncing around the play yard with a squeaky toy in her mouth, then seeking out her human for some well-deserved pets and rubs. This tiny little gal isn’t jumpy or mouthy, and once she gets her zoomies out, she’s actually pretty chill. Raquel has the classic Husky smile, a beautiful smooth coat, and a sweet personality to match her good looks. If you’re in the market for a sweetie-pie, this little peanut just might be the one for you. Come meet Raquel and see if she’s your perfect match! *If you can see me, I'm still available! We prefer initial adoption steps to be done via email, this way we can answer any time of day. We also prefer an application submitted before scheduling a visit, but it's not required, an email conversation is great! If you don't have access to email, no worries. Please call 401 680 7591. We differ from other shelters by offering a one-on-one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you've chosen to become a new family member! Please email pacadoptions@providenceri.gov or adoptions@friendsofpaccc.org

Story
Mocha is a sweet, loving 7-year-old Husky who has been a very special part of my family. She is a wonderful dog with a sassy personality and a lot of love to give. Since having my baby, my life has changed tremendously, and unfortunately I no longer have the time and attention that Mocha deserves. This is an incredibly difficult decision because I love her very much, but I want to do what is best for her. Mocha deserves a home where she can receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, and companionship. She is a sweet girl who would make a wonderful addition to the right family. I am looking for someone who will truly love and care for her and treat her like family. This decision is not because Mocha is a bad dog—in fact, it is the opposite. I want to make sure she has the time, attention, and happy life that she deserves.

Antonio

Husky

Male, 4 yrs

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Antonio! Antonio is a sweet husky boy, he's playful, energetic, but after a long walk and he's burnt up all his crazy energy, Antonio is a total smushy lap dog. He can be a little shy around new people, but give him a little time to get to know you and he'll be your best friend. Antonio is a high energy, dramatic, and vocal dog who thrives on daily affection, exercise, and enrichment. He's endlessly charming with his antics (the water bowl spill is his favorite naughty move) and could likely get a job as a stand-up comedian. Antonio would do best in a teens+ household, but he's lived with other dogs before and done well. He has no experience with cats and if he were to go home to a household with resident cats, he would need a slow and careful introduction to ensure the safety and comfort of all animals involved. Antonio previously lived outside, so he may need some guidance to help him perfect his house training skills. **if you are interested in adopting, please complete an adopter's profile at parl.org and come in during our open hours (Wednesday-Sunday, 12-4)**

Story
Acquired Sadie from an elderly couple when she was 6 months old. I took her knowing they weren’t going to be able to give her what she needed. I’ve had her for 12 months training her. She can sit and heal. Does not bark, howl or talk. She’s a quiet dog and will notify you if she has to go out or is hungry. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment so any exercise is walks and dog park. She is playful for sure, good with kids and other dogs. I’ll be traveling more for work and eventually be moving. If you have a backyard, she would love it. If you have little ones, she has a goofy side. …and of course she’s gorgeous.

Introducing Jax! Jax is fresh off his photo shoot with Polar Square Designs and ready to find a home! Jax is a young (approx. 2yrs old) goofy, and playful pup full of energy. His days are filled with chasing his tail, playing fetch with anyone who'll join, and exploring his surroundings. Jax's vivacious spirit is infectious! He has not lived with another dog before so potential adopters with dogs will need to a meet and greet. No cats or small animals for this guy, he's a chaser. Jax is neutered and current on vaccinations. Contact us to arrange a time to meet Jax!
