Story
Lokie is looking for his second chance.  Lokie’s world changed forever when his owner passed away. One day he had his person, his home, and the life he knew. The next, everything was gone. Through no fault of his own, he found himself starting over and wondering where he belongs. What makes it even harder is that Lokie is a larger dog in a rescue focused primarily on small breeds. While the little dogs often get applications quickly, wonderful dogs like Lokie can be overlooked. And that’s a shame, because this boy is truly something special. Lokie is sweet, affectionate, loyal, and full of love. He doesn’t need anything fancy—just a family to call his own again. Whether you’re looking for a companion for adventures or a best friend to relax with at home, Lokie is happy just being by your side. He has already experienced the heartbreak of losing the person he loved most. Let’s not let him spend any longer waiting for someone new to love. Please share and help us find Lokie the forever home he deserves.  Apply to adopt here:https://www.russellrescuetn.com/application-for-adoption/ September 20, 2026, 11:35 am

Story
Meet Cubby – Your Adventure Buddy and Best Friend! Breed: Husky Mix | Age: 2.5 years | Weight: 50 lbs   Cubby is a stunning Husky mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. After being rescued from an overcrowded backyard situation, this sweet boy has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.       Cubby has discovered the joys of life—walks, playtime, snuggles, and, most of all, people! He’s affectionate, smart, and always seems to be trying to understand everything around him with those expressive eyes. He’s especially great with children and loves being part of a family.       An energetic and athletic pup, Cubby thrives on adventure. He loves long walks, hiking, backpacking, playing fetch, running beside a bike, and splashing in the water. If you lead an active lifestyle, Cubby might just be your perfect match. And when the day is done? He’s happy to chill on his dog bed, content just being near his people.       Cubby currently lives with two other dogs and absolutely loves playing with them. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another dog buddy—or as your one-and-only if he gets plenty of exercise and enrichment.       Cubby is not just a dog—he’s a loyal companion, hiking partner, and forever friend who will bring joy, laughter, and love to your life. All he needs is a family who will give him the active, loving home he deserves.        Fostered in Tennessee       ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com.March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Meet Lil Bit!! What we see is that Little Bit is an easy going girl that has melted right in to the background of the homelife of women who work from home and have 2 small dogs of their own.  She is respectful of them and is enjoying laying outside and enjoying the beautiful weather and the soft dog bed that has been offered to her.  She is crate trained and just fine.  She would love to play with the small dogs but they have refused her playful offerings.  As cute as she is, they are not interested.  The family we would love to adopt Little Bit is one that has a fenced yard and someone not gone 9 hours a day.  Shorter time gone is fine or even a work from home situation would be perfection.  She is housebroken apparently and she know how to cross her legs like a Southern Lady!   Some added weight might be good for this girl and a 55 pound healthy weight would be ideal for her.  She is a beauty.   A Husky/Shepherd mix is definitely the consensus of her breed.  She is currently 48 pounds and stunning in every way.  Please consider making this girl's Cinderella Story come true NOW!!!   Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
