Meet Lil Bit!! What we see is that Little Bit is an easy going girl that has melted right in to the background of the homelife of women who work from home and have 2 small dogs of their own. She is respectful of them and is enjoying laying outside and enjoying the beautiful weather and the soft dog bed that has been offered to her. She is crate trained and just fine. She would love to play with the small dogs but they have refused her playful offerings. As cute as she is, they are not interested. The family we would love to adopt Little Bit is one that has a fenced yard and someone not gone 9 hours a day. Shorter time gone is fine or even a work from home situation would be perfection. She is housebroken apparently and she know how to cross her legs like a Southern Lady! Some added weight might be good for this girl and a 55 pound healthy weight would be ideal for her. She is a beauty. A Husky/Shepherd mix is definitely the consensus of her breed. She is currently 48 pounds and stunning in every way. Kanin is so sweet and such a love but also has such a fun playful side! He seems to play great with other dogs and also takes cues well if a dog says they've had enough. He seems to play appropriately with his 50 lb Husky friend as well as his 8 lb Chihuahua friend. He is also a great snuggler and LOVES to go on walks and is good on a leash. He has actually helped another anxious dog at the rescue get more confident on walks. He seems to be ok with cats and has a natural curiosity, and seems great also with kids. He LOVES to play with the ball and his foster is working on drop it and leave it so he would be able to safely play ball with kids. He does seem to have some separation anxiety so we have him on Trazodone as he is getting used to his new environment with his fosters, but we think we should be able to transition him off of that as he feels secure. He is also kennel trained and doesn't have accidents in the kennel and also does not generally seem to be destructive unless he is feeling extra anxious. He does seem to like a crate, but does well if baby gated in a room in the house. And trust us when we say this guy does NOT act 8 years old!!!!!! He has such a youthful, joyful spirit! “The love of a dog is a pure thing." This reminds us of our precious Saint, who will be such a devoted part of the family lucky enough to take him home. He is seven years old and weighs 33 pounds. His beautiful blue eyes are the color of a perfect summer sky. Saint is truly one of the handsomest dogs we have ever seen! Why we love him: Saint is so gentle and sweet and has quickly become a shelter favorite! He is so congenial and good natured. Saint is a well mannered companion on daily walks and is so interested in his surroundings. He also enjoys outings in the fenced yard. Saint is the best cuddle buddy! His soft and fluffy coat is perfect for petting, which he greatly enjoys. Saint is a bright dog who should master any commands you wish to teach him. He will sit for the reward of a treat. Saint has been diagnosed with EPI where he lacks a specific pancreatic enzyme needed for adequate food digestion. He requires a powdered enzyme mixed in with a little wet food and then added to his dry food. The food needs to sit for 15 to 20 minutes before Saint is fed. This should allow him to gain needed weight. Our staff would be glad to answer any questions about this. He has enjoyed meeting his fellow shelter companions in play groups. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. Saint will be a wonderful companion! Please give this deserving dog a family to love and care for him.
