Hello!!! I am Reuben... oops RUBEN, hold the mustard please! I am NOT a sandwich, I am a dog, if you haven't figured that out yet... I am a cool dog, kind of like a the main ingredient in a reuben sandwich, corned beef- I am a twist on the old favorite, Husky! I am a husky hybrid :) I am a husky mix, beefy and solid with beautiful markings and a personality to go with it! I am a young guy too and have seen a lot in my short life, so now am ready to settle down with the family of my dreams! I have lots of love and energy to spare, and I am so so friendly with everyone I meet. I will make the perfect side dish to the sandwich, so hurry up and order me to GO!!! Good with dogs,
Story
Hi, my name is Odin and I'm looking for my forever best friend! I've had kind of a rough start and it takes me a little bit of time and patience before I know you're my people. You see, I used to have a family, but I lived in the backyard and one day they moved away and didn't even pack me up! I spent six weeks roaming the streets in the peak of Texas summer, a nice couple fed me burgers but I was wary of people and didn't really want anybody approaching me. The friendly rescue people down the street spent time every day checking on me and talking to me until I finally let them put a leash on me. What a relief when I found out that they had all kinds of yummy treats, two meals a day, and AIR CONDITIONING! I am a grumbly husky with a lot to say and it took me a couple weeks before I would let foster mom pet me without grumbling at her. I am very vocal and I don't love new people in my space, but I always let them know. I also don't like to be grabbed, pushed, lifted, or pulled by strangers. My foster mama is bestest friend in the world though and I love to sit in her lap and lean up on her legs when I see her (I call these Odin hugs). She can even restrain me or pick me up if she wants, I know that she would never ever hurt me. I've been making lots of friends you see, and I'm always so excited to see them! I have a foster auntie and I love her so much when she comes over I'm sure to give her lots of Odin hugs. Slowly, I'm learning that there are more good people than bad people and I'm learning to let my walls down faster and faster. I even go to puppy sitting when my foster mom is out of town, and I LOVE those people too! I'm turning into a regular social butterfly, I just need some time getting to know my new friends before I let them into my heart. The coolest thing about being a rescue dog is being a big foster brother to all the other fosters! I get to show them the ropes, my foster mama finds lots of dogs outside. The resident dogs in this house might not remember their previous lives, but I sure do! I'm a great big foster brother and most of the new fosters really look to me for reassurance. I like to play a little rough and it's hard to find friends who will play at my level. I love to grumble and play growl and sometimes the other dogs get confused by my body language. I've watched a couple of my foster siblings get adopted and go to their furever homes, and I'm still waiting for my turn! My foster mama says she would just keep me but she's hopeful that I'll find my very own people who can share their whole world with me!! Odin is a wonderful dog who needs a little patience before he lets his true temperament shine. He is extremely loyal but would thrive in a home with experienced dog owners as he doesn't like to be grabbed, lifted, or pushed, and responds best to positive and upbeat energy. He's eager to please and with a little patience has learned to go into the crate (where he does an excellent job being quiet and settling down) and into the car. He has a lot of energy and would love an active family to take him hiking, walking, or jogging. Odin is a good weight at 75 pounds,is done with HW treatment, and is about 3 years old. If you bring the patience, respect, and treats, Odin will bring the unwavering love and loyalty! Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

Story
Sparkly Sabrina is magical!!! Can you believe that his sweet, beautiful Husky mix girl was abandoned....the people just moved away and left her to starve. It doesn't take long till you realize this dog is an exceptionally smart girl.  She appears to be young at just approximately 2 years and 60 lbs. Always smiling, she is quick to please and equally quick to learn.  Being playful is her happy quality. Sabrina loves to go for walks (or runs!) and is wonderful riding in the car. Her one wish and desire in life to to be with a family or an individual person who will cherish her. She seeks attention, love and reassurance as you might expect an abandoned dog to do.  She adores kind words, pats on the head and belly rubs. In fact, belly rubs are magic to her. She does okay with other dogs but can be a little snarky at times. Her rope is her favorite toy, flinging it gleefully. At time, she is just plain smiley and silly. One of her quirks is her magicical disappearing/escape tricks to get out of an outdoor kennel or fenced yard when alone outside.  She just truly wants to be inside all the time. She is super special and needs an owner   experienced with Huskies.  They are sensitive and devoted dogs with special qualities.  If you are interested please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.     PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.October 2, 2023, 2:48 pm

Story
Sassy boy Sailor, is a dog that came so close to losing his life in a small town shelter in Tennessee.   He was so upset in the shelter that he was showing a truly bad side of his personality because of his fear.  The best foster mom ever who knows about behavior altering, took him home and learned how to show him there was nothing to fear so much.  He is a vibrantly alive 1-2 yrs old, 46 pounds Husky/Lab mix boy that is just so very sweet, handsome, energetic, agile, affectionate, intelligent, amazingly clean, and funny dog.   Our suggestion on the best home for him would be one that is with a strong dog leader who has no young children (over 12 is fine) and no cats.  This boy loves to go for hikes, long distance or short walks, playing fetch and being chased by dogs that he considers his friend, food rewards, food puzzles, being taught things new and taking his toys on his walks.  This funny, silly and full of life boy is a one in a million miracle.  He was destined to be euthanized and only because of this wonderful young woman who “knows” how to reach a dog’s inner self and reassure them they have nothing to fear, and now Sailor is here to live and love and be your handsome best friend in life.  All he wants to do in life is please you and love you with all his heart.  We do have Sailor on an inexpensive calming tranquilizer that has made all the difference for him and we will along a supply for a while.  If you are interested in talking with us about Sailor joining your life, please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Our handsome white Blue Eyed pure bred Husky boy is called Sackett and he is a 6 year old sweetheart who just lost his forever canine friend and he is very sad.  We are looking to find him a new home with another dog that will be his best buddy.  Sackett is such a wonderful dog and he used to be shy and untrusting of people but he is not anymore.  He has a loving personality and he is a major bedtime snuggler who loves to be petted and told how handsome he is. He is very playful with other dogs and enjoys a good game of chase with his adult humans and tug of war. He loves summertime and the chance to play and lay in the kiddie pool.  He will play in the pool for hours, he will dig in the pool and also try and catch the water spraying. It is so entertaining to see him dive and go underwater to get his toys. For 6 years old and 43 pounds,  he is very playful. He loves to be wherever people are. He’s food  motivated and he likes to go for drives and stick his head out the window to see the world speeding by and to feel the wind on his face. He does well with other dogs but he does need you to be fair in your attention to him and equally to another dog.  Sometimes it hurts his feelings if he is not the center of your attention.  We think that Sackett would be a prize for someone …. And he will require frequent baths so get ready.  If you are interested please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   He is ready to go now!   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Oreo Cookie is a delightful 6 month old female Husky mix that weighs 32 pounds and destined to be a 40 pound adult girl.  She was an owner surrender because the family was unable to take care of her and she is now sitting in a shelter who is working hard with Critter Cavalry Rescue to find her a wonderful home.  Oreo is a great leash walker and she is so smart and quick to learn commands.  She loves to play with the other pups in the play yard at the shelter and she has demonstrated how much she loves having a yard to play in.  She would welcome anyone that exercises with her or has children to play with her.  Even another dog would be a welcome friend who would enjoy Oreo Cookie.   We see her thriving in a home where she would get interaction and lots of training time with her owners. She would be a great walking, hiking  or jogging partner to active person or couple.  Oreo Cookie is always happy, always wagging her tail and always smiling. We need to make her dreams come true and find her a solid family who will never give her away.   If you are interested in this terrific medium sized girl, please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   She is ready to go! Debbie Harry is a beautiful girl, picked up as a stray & never claimed. She's one of 3 dogs we were able to save from a TN shelter kill list, but we are full and need more fosters! Debbie is a quiet, calm girl that can be a little aloof at first meeting.. but is sweet and loves being pet. She has a mellowness that's almost soothing.. She's about 4 years old, around 65# and heartworm positive. Debbie has been an angel in boarding, but we'd love to get her into a home so we can get her treated in a home environment. Story
*hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. If you think you are up for the challenge of a total spitfire like me, please feel free to send in an application and foster mommy can tell you more about all of the grandeur that is...CHLOE. Story
Hello, my name is Buster... short for Buster Brown... which seems to fit for me ;) I am a gorgeous color- like when you are painting things in school and you mix the burnt orange in with the brown paint- you get ME!!! I appear to be a Chow mix, my fur is medium length and somewhat fluffy and is so soft!! My face looks square and so KISSABLE!! I am about 70# so not a small boy, I know what I want in life. I have the personality of a goofy boy and smart, independent chow as well in that I LOVE my people, but can be a little reserved until I know I love them!! I came to the pound with horrible injuries to my back end, likely the result of a car accident or a drag accident. My legs were in pretty horrible shape and I was unable to walk for the first couple of days. Now my legs are completely healed over and I have totally forgotten why we are even discussing it!! I have a really strong spirit to have gotten through such awful injuries with the sweet countenance I have. I love my people and am pretty good with other dogs too. I am great in a crate, on a leash, in a house with a mouse too :) (Dr Seuss is my favorite author!!) I am ready for my forever family, I can be a little nervous with people in my face and would really be best with older kids but everyone else is cool!! Look me up and adopt me, you will never regret it- I will make all your dreams come true!! (ok, you will make MINE come true) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Haku means "pure" in Japanese! I was named for my pure, passionate and overwhelming love for everyone around me! I came to the rescue when my dad was stationed in Japan and heartbroken that he couldn't take me with him. I've missed him so much ever since! Everyday I do the things I did with him with other dogs so I can try and remember what it felt like to be with him! But it's just not the same. So, I'm hoping a new family can come scoop me up and show me what it feels like to be a part of a home and family again! I am good with other dogs, I love playing chase with them or tugging on chew toys. I'll need a happy and active home so that my life will be full of love and fun! I am a bit anxious and nervous around new people, and people in general! Slow introductions, a safe space I can retreat to like a crate and not forcing me into spaces with tons of people will help me be myself all the time! Haku can only be adopted in the local or TX area. Local adoption only, in San Antonio or TX area, $200.
