Story
Who doesn’t love a fun, loving, full of life Husky that instantly puts a smile on your face because he just seems so happy all the time?! Well, say hello to Sid Smitty Truly the dog version of a human exclamation point. He has this contagious, feel-good energy about him that makes being around him so much fun. From what we’ve seen so far, Sid Smitty genuinely seems happiest when he’s included in whatever is going on. Hanging out with people? Amazing. Playing with dog friends? Best day ever. Getting attention and affection? Absolutely yes. He’s been incredibly sweet with everyone he’s met and has this way of melting right into you for love like he’s known you forever. What makes him extra special though is that he really seems to have the best of both worlds personality-wise. He can be playful, goofy, and full of silly Husky fun one minute, then perfectly content cuddling up beside you soaking in affection the next. He’s also done great around kids and overall just gives off that “life is more fun when this dog is around” kind of vibe. Watch his video and fall in love with this guy: https://youtu.be/0fXkEOavbus?si=kyyQdMDCbkOvIRgU Sid Smitty is believed to be a Husky mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 59 lbs. Which seems like a big number on paper and when you’re reading it. He is a big dog but he’s more legs, height and fluff than he is poundage. And as if Sid wasn’t already unique enough, this boy has one random little black spot right in the middle of his tail like someone accidentally booped him with a paintbrush and decided, “yep, perfect, leave it.” It’s such a silly little detail but somehow makes him even cuter and gives him so much character. Like his tail needed its own beauty mark or something LOL. If you watched his video then you saw his interactions around a 2 year old. Sid was honestly SO sweet with her and seemed genuinely happy just being included in all the little moments and chaos. Right away he was confidently going up to her while she was swinging a cat toy around everywhere, following her around curiously, and just happily existing in the middle of all the action. He wasn’t bothered by whining, crying noises, or unpredictable toddler energy at all. And despite being a goofy Husky boy with basically zero spatial awareness LOL, he was naturally very gentle with her. One of the sweetest moments was when they were both up on the couch together and Sid completely melted into her, like fully laid on her like a giant fluffy weighted blanket just soaking up the cuddles. It was one of those moments where everyone in the room was like “okay wait… this is ridiculously cute.” Based off what we’ve seen, he really seems to have a lot of potential to make a super fun, affectionate family dog in the right home. With other dogs, Sid has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced him to. He has been with dogs ranging in sizes (some as small as 8lbs) and personalities. From what we have seen, Sid gravitates towards playful dogs like himself the most. And when he does find a playmate, he truly shines. Consistent of games of chase, wrestling matches, and if you know shepherds, then you know they like to throw paws and love mouthy type play. In a home, he would do great with a fun, happy, confident female that likes to play, enjoys rowdy play and also a dog that appreciates the calmer hangout moments too. If you don’t have other dogs that’s fine too. We believe Sid could be just as happy being the center of your attention. Sid also met our house cat Biggie and appeared to be just as friendly with him as he is with dogs. Almost as if Biggie was another pal to play with. Biggie is very dog savvy and is comfortable around dogs and will even play with dogs he is comfortable with. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for him to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Yes, Sid can be a super fun, active, adventurous guy but he also has a calm side as well. He has had no problem making himself feel right at home and will lay right on top of you if you let him. Who doesn't love GSD snuggles?! He seems to already have some level of understanding that play time is an outside luxury and has good house manners. Though, he has shown that he is comfortable with couch cuddles and may attempt to sneak a snack or too off tables LOL. He hasn’t done it yet, but with his love for food and the advantage of being on the taller side. A small plate of your leftovers might be really tempting for him. Sid has enjoyed playing with toys, in particular rope toys and toys that he can play tug with. He also likes to play with balls too! In all honesty, we believe he would like playing with any kind of toy if that means you’re engaging in the play too. From what we have seen, Sid isn’t play play play 24/7. A little fun outdoors with his doggy friends or backyard play sessions with people, Sid will be prepped and ready for snuggles. Not feeling snuggly? That’s fine. He has been really good about finding a cozy spot on the floor and settling in with his favorite toy and is perfectly content doing his own thing. We are willing to test Sid Smitty with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Rory is one of those dogs who just blossoms when she knows she’s safe and loved. From the moment her foster got her home she knew she was going to going to get to see her in full bloom and she absolutely has. Although I spent a few hours with Rory, enjoyed her company and got to know her more, most all of what is shared here is from her devoted foster. With a front row seat she has the best view. Take a look at her beautiful view, get to know Rory a little more and then come back to read more. https://youtu.be/uApRznAenJU At home, Rory’s an absolute sweetheart. No accidents here! She’ll let you know when she needs to go out, usually by whining and giving you that classic “let me out, please!” look. She’s a big fan of toys and loves playing fetch, though she might not always bring it back to you, its kind of her way of taking a break. She’s definitely part couch potato too – or in her case chair potato. Her favorite place to curl up is on the armchair, where she goes from happily watching TV with you to full on snoring. You’ll still be able to hear the tv though, they are just quiet little snores. Rory is estimated to be 5 years old, weighs 57 lbs, and may be a husky/lab mix. Of course, she is a rescue so age and breed are not details we can guarantee. Rory’s foster praises her for being friendly with people and great with kids. She shared that her two- and three-year-old niece and nephew adored her, and she was always so gentle and patient with them. On top of a variety of dogs, Rory met a two-month-old puppy during a recent visit at a family friends house and had fun playing and was so sweet on him. She lives with dogs and has met all sorts of dogs, big, small, young to old. She can be a bit shy during on-leash greetings but is polite and if she is not feeling comfortable she will simply keep on walking. Rory is definitely more of a dog-companion than a dog-playmate with her best match being easy-going dogs that don’t feel the need to push or insist she play. She doesn’t mind gently letting them know in her own doggy way that she isn’t interested and then moves on. Rory has basic leash skills and continues to learn in new environments. She recently got to tag-along for a pet-store run and was very polite but a little unsure of walking next to the cart but settled in after just a few minutes. Clearly she is a smart cookie and picks things up quickly. Her foster has praised her crate manners, calling her a rock star! She is quiet and settles into sleep easily. She also knows basic commands including “sit”and “lay down.” She also learns quickly and takes correction well. We would love to see Rory in a home with a yard, adding a family with kids to that scene would be the true dream. Rory does not need another dog in the home, her people and a few toys will fill her bucket each and every day. The only no we would encourage is no cats. Her foster has cats and will attest to her attempts to get a good game of chase in when she first met them. They are kept separate now after one curious moment turned into a little too much excitement, so a cat-free home is best. Overall, Rory is a loving, fun, and smart pup who’s just waiting to be part of your family. She’s come so far in such a short time and is ready to keep learning and loving with you by her side. If you’re looking for a loyal buddy who’s as happy exploring the world as she is snuggling up for TV time, Rory’s your girl! Ready to make the first move? Story
Meet Trixie- the small dog loving gal! This beautiful girl weighs 55 pounds and is estimated to be 5 years old. We think she is a husky/boxer mix, but we aren’t really sure, so we just call her our Texas Special- the very best breed! Trixie is being fostered with nine small grumpy dogs and has been a big foster sister to many more. She loves to gently play with them, and takes it in stride when they growl and snap at her. She shares toys and will lets them take toys from her- even thought she is 6 times their size! A game of chase?? Yes Please- she loves to run and play! Trixie is shy with big dogs and prefers to stays on the sidelines durning big dog play group. She has calmer big dog friends she likes to go walking with, but in general prefers low energy big dogs who give her time to warm up and respect her space. For this reason we think she would be best in a small dog home. Check out Trixie here: https://youtu.be/HGbITB-dv5k Trixie’s bond with her foster mom is tight. She’s become her little shadow, quietly trailing from room to room to be nearby in hopes of sneaking in a belly rub. No one in the house is happier to see her foster mom when she comes home than Trixie, who bounds up to her like she has been gone days, even if it has only been 15 minutes. Looking for a buddy to grab a morning coffee or late night ice cream treat with? Trixie would love to join you! She is an excellent car rider and knows how to “load up”. She is great on the leash and loves to go for walks and to dog friendly stores. She walks by people and dogs with ease. This girl does like to watch squirrels and bunnies- and would give them a chase if allowed. Trixie gets lots of zoomies- and loves to go outside and run laps in the yard. She also enjoys basking in the sun watching the world go by. A home with a fenced yard she can run around in would be ideal for her. Trixie potty trained and crate trained- just give her a treat and tell her to "get in bed". Trixie met our housecat Biggie and was gently curious, giving respectful sniffs before moving along. She’s considered cat tolerant and could do well in a home with a dog-savvy feline who won’t mind the occasional gentle inspection. Trixie is searching for a quiet, peaceful home where she can feel safe and adored, a place with a yard to explore, and a person to lean into and little dogs to play with. She would love to go on a good walk or an adventure up the mountains. If you think Trixie might just be your perfect match, apply here and her coordinator will reach out! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/686a7f52abb88d9ce7062ead Questions? Story
Madame Cleo has read the cards — and your future includes one very dignified, independent husky. Cleo is a beautiful husky mix with the kind of self-assured presence that makes you feel like she knows something you don’t. And honestly? She probably does. With her confident nature and quietly curious eyes, Cleo has a touch of mystery about her — the type of dog who is confident, poised, and more of a “hang nearby” than “glued to your side” kind of girl — and we respect that. She’s currently in a foster home with a yard, mastering her house manners and enjoying the day-to-day while she waits for her adoption date! Cleo is estimated to be 2 years old, is a Husky mix and weighs a petite 46 lbs. Keep in mind that because she is a rescue, we cannot guarantee age or breed. Her foster currently enjoys walks with Cleo on a harness, with occasional leash walks to keep her versatile. Her foster shared that she is house trained and has not had an accidents since she has been in the home. We love that! Huskies are known for being opinionated , and Cleo is no exception, Because she can be a little vocal (classic husky), apartment life isn’t the best fit — but a home with a yard, a comfy crate, and a human who respects her independent personality is her dream! With other dogs, Cleo is confident and cool. She doesn’t need playmates, and she certainly doesn’t need a dog following her around. If there’s another dog in the home, a chill, low-energy male who minds his own business would be just fine. But truly, Cleo doesn’t require canine company to be content. She would be perfectly happy as a single lady than part of a pack. We introduced Cleo to our house cat and she did well! Her foster then shared that she has an indoor/outdoor cat that Cleo lives with peacefully. Another sign she’s in tune with her surroundings and knows when to keep things chill, so dog-savvy cats are welcome with Cleo. If your idea of the perfect companion is a quiet, independent dog who’s not going to shadow your every move but will still check in with you during sunset yard hangs, Cleo is your girl. She’s calm, self-assured, and beautifully low-maintenance — as long as you appreciate a little husky sass. Questions? Story
Meet Darling Delilah, the ultimate gentle soul. This serene, sweet girl is the definition of peaceful companionship. She’s quiet, polite, and affectionate in the most heart-melting way. Delilah loves soft squeaky toys, sunbathing in the yard, and cozy mornings wrapped in blankets. She’s perfectly house-trained, delightfully low-maintenance, and has an old-soul calmness that makes every moment with her feel peaceful. Watch Delilah's video here to see what she's all about! https://youtu.be/c6RDfEGPsB0?si=FRzpErgKgC6DJp5N Delilah’s house manners are impeccable. She sleeps through the night either at the foot of the bed, on one of her dog beds, or on the couch in the living room. She patiently waits for her foster parents to wake and take her outside. She can be quite goofy, doing a joyful zoom back to the house after a good potty break, just to celebrate her success. Delilah’s ideal day includes a leisurely morning walk or yard time, a little toy time (especially anything that squeaks), and of course, snack time. When her foster parents leave, she is free to roam in the house, never destructive. Truly, she’s a dream dog for someone who appreciates calm companionship. She’s brave with all sorts of noises, like thunder, vacuums, trash trucks, and fireworks, and none of it fazes her. Delilah is also the perfect work-from-home buddy: quiet, content, and always close by if you need a little furry comfort during your day. She's the type that will come up to you when the time is right for a little ear or nose scratch, almost as if she knew you needed a five-minute break from work. As for the rest of the time, she's a window watcher and loves looking out windows or curling up with a good chew toy. Delilah can be a little shy at first, as new people and new places can make her a bit uncertain. With some time and gentle patience to help her realize she is safe and loved, she bonds deeply and adores her people with her whole heart. She’ll follow you from room to room, greet you like you’ve been gone for ages (even if it’s only been five minutes), and roll over for belly rubs. Delilah loves time with her teenage human fosters, and appreciates the sturdiness of older kids because she loves to lean her whole body in for affection, lay on a lap like a 5lb chihuahua, and occasionally roughhouse play. Delilah thrives in a semi-active home that enjoys neighborhood walks, hiking adventures, and relaxed time in the yard. A family or individual who appreciates nature and is ready to explore trails or snowy landscapes would be a wonderful match. While she loves the great outdoors, she equally values her downtime indoors and settles in beautifully after activity. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard… a place where she can stretch her legs, roll in the grass, and soak up the sun. When it comes to other dogs, Delilah is currently living with quite the crew; from goofy puppies to large adult dogs and even a tiny Chihuahua. She prefers calm interactions and doesn’t enjoy rowdy play. She would do best with a submissive, easygoing dog that matches her cool, collected personality. That said, she would also be perfectly happy as your one and only pup, as her loyalty and devotion to her people run deep. A home without cats is a must, as Delilah shows far too much interest in them. If you have experience with Huskies, you know they thrive with structure, routine, and consistency. Delilah is an easygoing girl for the most part, but like most Huskies, she does best with daily mental stimulation and regular physical activity. A predictable schedule, clear boundaries, and some enrichment go a long way in keeping her happy and well-balanced. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Some dogs have a signature feature. Carrol Cutie apparently decided one wasn't enough. She has the mismatched eyes. She has the fluffy white tail. She has the adorable little underbite. She has the expressive face that somehow manages to communicate approximately 47 different emotions at any given moment. Put all of that together and you get a dog that is equal parts beautiful, hilarious, and ridiculously lovable. Trust us, one meeting with Carrol and you'll understand why everyone remembers her. Watch her video and prepare to fall in love with this snaggletoothed beauty: https://youtu.be/LI8Ex8sPnEo?si=fL0-NNHrP76WFc04 Carrol Cutie is approximately 3 years old, weighs around 40 lbs, and we believe she may be a Husky/Shiba Inu mix. With rescue it's always a mystery and we can never guarantee breed or age. What we do know is that she's as white as a little polar bear, has one icy blue eye, one beautiful caramel brown eye, and a fluffy white tail that perfectly completes the look. As cute as she is, her personality might be our favorite thing about her. Carrol is happy, affectionate, playful, and full of life. She genuinely enjoys being around people and has a way of making herself part of whatever is going on. If friends come over, expect Carrol to make an appearance. If there's a family gathering, she'll likely be right in the middle of it. She has the type of personality that naturally draws people in. One of the things we love most about her is how much fun she is. This girl always seems to be in a good mood. She loves attention, loves being included, and has enough charm packed into her fluffy little body to keep everyone entertained. She's the kind of dog that makes you laugh without even trying. Carrol is dog friendly and has done well with dogs her size as well as dogs smaller than her. She's not overly interested in having a full-time playmate and is often perfectly content doing her own thing or soaking up attention from her favorite humans. When she does decide to play, she likes to be the one to start the fun and tends to keep things lighthearted. She does best with dogs that have good social skills and understand that not every interaction needs to be a face-to-face wrestling match. If another dog gets a little too pushy, Carrol is comfortable communicating that she'd like a little space, but she's not looking for conflict. She's simply a girl who appreciates good manners. She would do well with another respectful dog in the home, but she would also be perfectly happy being your one and only spoiled princess. When it comes to toys, Carrol is all in. Give this girl a toy and she's happy. She'll toss toys around by herself, entertain herself independently, or happily engage in a game of tug with her people. She doesn't need constant entertainment from others because she's perfectly capable of making her own fun. Carrol is also a smart cookie. She loves treats, already knows how to sit, and is continuing to polish up her leash skills. She's eager to learn and enjoys working for snacks, which always makes training more enjoyable for everyone involved. She is crate trained, potty trained, and already has many of the basics down. What she needs now is a family that will continue providing structure, consistency, and boundaries so she can continue being the best version of herself. While we think Carrol could adapt to a variety of homes, we believe she'd be happiest in a home with a backyard and a semi-active family. She enjoys having space to stretch her legs, play with her toys, and be involved in daily life. She's not looking for a marathon runner, but she would love a family that enjoys getting out and doing things together. And then there's that face. The underbite. The snaggletooth smile. The mismatched eyes. The endless expressions. Somehow Carrol manages to be stunning and goofy at the exact same time. It's a combination that shouldn't work, but somehow it absolutely does. If you're looking for a dog with personality, affection, beauty, humor, and enough charm to become the star of every conversation, Carrol might just be your girl. We are willing to test Carrol Cutie with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
Story
Meet Midnight — the tall, stunning, floppy-eared dreamboat with eyes as warm as melted chocolate and a coat that glows like bronze in the sunshine! 🌙✨ This 3-year-old Malamute/Husky mix (we think!) is basically the canine version of a supermodel… if that supermodel also happened to be a total goofball who loves belly rubs, splashy pool parties, and zooming in circles just for the joy of it. From the moment you meet him, Midnight’s charm is impossible to resist. He’s got that big, easy grin, a tail that never stops wagging, and a “hi, I love you already” kind of energy that makes you instantly fall head over heels. When we met him, he popped his head out the car window just to say hello — tail thumping, eyes sparkling, already making friends before his paws even hit the ground. That’s Midnight in a nutshell: confident, happy, and so full of life. Watch Midnight's personality shine in his video! https://youtu.be/zD5VOftQENw?si=Q2MOviX1hAr6ljAz He’s also seriously affectionate. The minute you crouch down, he leans his whole big body into you for pets and kisses, like he’s trying to soak up every ounce of love you’ll give him (and then some). He’s that perfect mix of adventure dog and cuddle bug — equally thrilled to go on a long hike or flop beside you on the couch like a giant, fuzzy blanket with legs. And when it comes to dog friends? Midnight is an absolute blast. 🎉 He’s super social and loves to play rough-and-rowdy style with his buddies — big bouncy play bows, zooming laps, goofy wrestling, and lots of splashing in the kiddie pool mid-play just because he can. He does great with confident, playful dogs (especially sassy females who can keep up and tell him when to chill). He’s got that big personality that other confident dogs love, and once the play settles, he’s happy to lounge and soak up the vibes. He’s the kind of dog who’d be perfect for someone who loves adventures — hikes, beach trips, park playdates, or just neighborhood strolls where everyone stops to say “wow, he’s gorgeous!” (which, trust us, they will). Despite being part husky, Midnight’s surprisingly quiet — he doesn’t have much to say, he just wags, wiggles, and wins hearts wherever he goes. Midnight would thrive in a home with a yard to romp around in or an active person or family who wants a loyal, silly, handsome sidekick for all their outings. He’d do great with kids and loves being part of the fun. He’s one of those dogs that just fits right into the rhythm of family life — happy to go, happy to stay, as long as he’s got his people and plenty of love. Did we mention how ridiculously good-looking he is? Because truly, this boy could be on the cover of Dog Vogue. His rich brown coat shines in the light, his fur looks like velvet, and his expressive face always looks like he’s smiling. Add in his long legs, fluffy tail, and slightly dorky zoomies, and you’ve got yourself a dog who’s both model material and comedian of the year. Midnight is the total package — stunning, sweet, playful, and full of personality. He’s the kind of dog that turns heads, steals hearts, and makes every day brighter just by being his big, silly, perfect self. 💕 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
