Story
Mocha is a sweet, spunky girl around 3 months old who came to us as a local surrender. We believe she’s a Lab/Husky mix, with all the playful, curious energy you’d expect from that combo! She absolutely loves other dogs and is happiest when she has a playmate. Mocha is confident and silly — she definitely thinks she’s the boss 😅 — but in the most lovable way. She does great with dogs of all sizes and would thrive in a home with another playful pup. Mocha is also great with kids, though we recommend kids 5+ since she’s still a bouncy puppy and learning that jumping isn’t polite. She’s already making good progress and is eager to learn! ✔️ Crate trained ✔️ Dog-friendly (all sizes!) ✔️ Kid-friendly ✔️ Likely cat-friendly with proper intro This sweet girl is looking for a home where she can continue to grow, play, and be loved.

Story
This dog is not in the direct care of Happy Tail Happy Homes, we are simply assisting with getting him adopted outside of the rescue. If you are interested in Kodi, please fill out an application at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform Kodi is a 5–6-year-old male neutered Husky/Shepherd mix weighing approximately 48 lbs. He previously had mild separation anxiety, which is now well managed, and he has completed a few weeks of training and boarding. He currently sleeps comfortably in a crate and is generally an easy, well-mannered companion. Kodi is dog-selective and may be a bit selective or “snarky” with certain dogs, so he does best with appropriate introductions and compatible canine companions. Overall, he is a mature, low-maintenance dog with no known health issues, easy handling, and a friendly, companion-oriented temperament.

Story
***Fern is not in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes. She was rescued from being given away for free by a good samaritan who was afraid she would fall into the wrong hand. We are not helping to assist her hero in finding Fern's loving forever home. If you are interested in Fern, please fill out an application here: https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform *** Meet Fern 🐾 The TL;DR: I’m a pint-sized, chocolate-coated Husky puppy who is roughly 20 pounds of pure sweetness. I was saved from the wilds of social media by a wonderful human, and now I’m looking for my forever home! ✨ The Quick Stats Breed: Siberian Husky (Expect the gorgeous looks, skip the drama!) Color: Beautiful rich brown 🤎 Age: 2.5 months old (Born approx. March 10, 2026) Weight: ~20 lbs of puppy fluff 🧠 Personality: Smart, Sweet, and a Little Sensitive Don't let the Husky breed fool you—I'm not bouncing off the walls screaming just yet! I am an incredibly smart cookie who is already learning the ropes of being a good girl. The Best Parts: I am deeply affectionate, very friendly, and love to cuddle. My Little Quirk: I have a touch of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). If you leave me by myself, I might sing you a little puppy song (whining) because I miss you. I’m not destructive, I just really love human company! 🤝 Fern’s Friend Audit Kids: 👼 A+! I recently went to PetCo and met some tiny humans. We had a blast. I am super gentle and non-aggressive. Dogs: 🐕 Approved (with a slow intro). If a dog has a huge, hyper personality, I get a little shy at first. But give me a few minutes to realize they won't eat me, and my playful puppy side comes right out! Cats & Critters: 🐱 No issues! I used to live with cats, and when I see birds or rabbits outside, I mostly just ignore them. 🏡 The Perfect Home For Me: I would love a family who understands that puppyhood takes a little patience, training, and a lot of love. If you have another confident, friendly dog to show me the ropes, or if you're home often enough to help me work through my minor separation anxiety, we will be a match made in heaven.

Story
If Doc could write his own adoption bio, it would probably just say: “HI!!!! 😊” …followed by 14 pages of additional thoughts and opinions. Doc is a ~2 year old, 44lb husky mix who came into a high-kill California shelter as a stray, and we were able to claim him right under the nick of time because honestly… LOOK AT HIS FACE. 🥹🤍 Some dogs politely wait for someone to save them. Doc looked directly at us like, “Okay cool 😌 where are we going?” Since leaving the shelter, Doc has approached life with the energy of someone who just discovered happiness, friendship, snacks, and TJ Maxx all at once. Every day is the best day of his entire life. Need to run errands? 🚗 Cool, he’s already in the car. Going on a walk? 🦮 Outstanding. Trip to Home Depot? 🛒 He would like to greet the gardening section personally. Making dinner? 🍳 He can supervise. Trying to have personal space? Weird concept, but okay. Doc genuinely believes every human being on earth is his close personal friend. Stranger danger? Never heard of it. His ideal day consists of meeting 47 new people, collecting compliments, and receiving belly rubs from all of them. For a husky mix, he’s surprisingly polite in public ✨ He walks well on leash, loves outings, and settles nicely when hanging out somewhere. His only real flaw is that he greets people like he just returned home from war. 🤝💋 At home, Doc becomes a full-time cuddle employee 🛋️ This dog is OBSESSED with affection. Belly rubs? Mandatory. Couch snuggles? Required by law. Personal space? Never heard of her. If you stop petting him too early, he will simply climb back onto you and politely resubmit his request. Now. We do need to address Doc’s ongoing political campaign against kennel time. 🗣️ Doc strongly believes kennels are unconstitutional and that he should instead be allowed to accompany you everywhere forever. While he IS kennel trained and settles well once inside, he may initially perform a dramatic monologue about the injustice of it all. 🎤 Thankfully, he’s improving every day with consistency and routine. He’s not destructive. Just… emotionally expressive. Doc does well with calm dogs both big and small 🐶 He seems to really enjoy stable canine friends and matches energy well once he settles down. He has no known history with cats or small animals, but so far has shown way more interest in making friends than chasing anything. A dog-savvy cat could likely do just fine with him 🐈‍⬛ He’d also likely do well with kids who can stand their ground a little, because when Doc gets excited, his entire body enters the group chat at once. 😅 ✨ Neutered ✨ Microchipped ✨ Up to date on vaccines The best way to describe Doc is this: imagine if a golden retriever got trapped inside a husky body and then immediately downloaded social media and drank a Celsius. He’s hilarious, affectionate, wildly social, slightly dramatic, and impossible not to love. Somewhere out there is a family missing a fluffy little best friend who will make every single day more entertaining, and Doc is VERY ready to find them. 🤍

Story
If you’re looking for a partner who thinks the best place on Earth is glued to your side, then Tony is your guy! He’s a happy, cream colored adventurer who believes that life is a team sport, and he’s ready to be your MVP. Tony is the ultimate Velcro dog with a side of goofy, a serious passion for pets and snuggles. Whether you’re working at your desk, eating dinner, or just hanging out, Tony will gladly curl up right under your feet. He wants to be involved in every single thing you do especially if it involves a garden hose! Watering the plants becomes a hilarious game of splash and play when Tony is around. He is a loyal companion and will greet you at the door with his favorite toy in his mouth, ready to show you how much he missed his favorite person. You have to see this goofy boy in action check out his below to see his famous hose zoomies! https://youtu.be/achl-y6icUg While his true DNA is a mystery, we suspect Tony is a majestic Husky mix with a coat as soft as a cloud and a heart twice his size. Tipping the scales at a sturdy 63 lbs, he is the ultimate adventure sized sidekick. He’s solid enough to be your hiking partner, but compact enough that he won't hog the entire couch during movie night (though he’ll definitely try to negotiate for the middle cushion!). Tony is basically a professional co pilot in training; he loads up into the car with ease and is always sitting pretty and ready to hit the road for a pup cup or a park trip. As with all our rescue superstars, his breed is a best guess, but those soulful eyes and "toasted marshmallow" looks are 100% guaranteed! Tony has been absolutely thriving in his foster home, and let’s just say he’s the ultimate house guest! He’s a total gold star student when it comes to house rules; he is fully potty trained and hasn't had a single "oopsie" indoors he’s much too sophisticated for that! When it’s time for some quiet time, Tony is crate trained. He treats his kennel like his own private, cozy VIP lounge where he can catch up on his beauty sleep. He currently lives with a 30lb canine sibling and even some tiny human kiddos (yep, including a little one under a year old!), proving he’s a gentle, patient soul who is a friend to everyone. If we told you he graduated at the top of his class, you’d believe us this boy is one smart cookie! He’s a straight-A student with his manners and is already a master of "sit," "down," "stay," "place," "left," "right," "up," and "off." He even knows his "kennel" command by heart; he’s basically a genius in a fluffy fur coat! When it comes to other pups, Tony is a total gentleman! He’s a regular at doggy daycare and is perfectly happy to be part of the pack, though he’s not the type to get caught up in high-speed wrestling matches. He’s more of a social observer who enjoys the company of others without needing to be the center of the action. Whether he’s hanging out with his 30lb foster brother or wandering the yard at daycare, Tony is a peaceful, easygoing friend to all dogs. He’s a medium energy guy who has truly mastered the art of the chill. While he might engage in a little play here and there, he is more than content to just share a warm sunspot in the grass with a buddy. Because he’s so well adjusted and mellow, he’d be a fantastic addition to a household with other dogs, but he’s also perfectly happy being your one and only star of the show! Now, what about the feline variety? Tony hasn't told us his official opinion on cats just yet! We have a feeling Tony is more than willing to share his world of cuddles and sun soaking spots with a kitty friend! To make sure he’s ready to hand over a snuggle permit to a feline roommate, he’d love to have a cozy kitty sleepover with one of our rescue cats as a trial run! This way, we can ensure Tony is on his way to becoming the bestest of buds with a cat before the official move in day. Tony’s dream home includes endless ear scratches, a yard for epic water hose adventures, and a family who doesn't mind a very cuddly 63 lb shadow! Because Tony is an outdoor enthusiast who takes his yard duties very seriously, he is looking for a home with a fenced in yard rather than an apartment. He needs that private green space to ensure every single blade of grass is thoroughly sniffed and every warm sun spot is perfectly lounged upon! Once his very important yard work is done, he’ll be ready to head inside and resume his favorite job: being right by your side. Whether it’s supervised gardening or movie marathons, Tony just wants to be part of the team. And if you’re a fan of a morning serenade, you’re in luck; Tony loves to start the day with a gentle, happy "awoo" to let you know he’s ready for breakfast and some morning snuggles. He’d thrive with a family who wants a devoted partner for every adventure he’s the kind of boy who will greet you at the door with his absolute favorite toy held proudly in his mouth, wiggling with pure joy! He might take a couple of days to fully settle in and show you his peak goofy personality, but once he knows he’s home, you’ll have a devoted companion for life! Tony is the definition of a total package, pup who checks every single box you could ask for: he is fully potty trained, crate trained (it’s his favorite private VIP lounge!), and is incredibly gentle and patient with kids of all ages. In short, Tony is a brilliant, toy toting, water loving gentleman who is just waiting for the right family to give him all the snuggles he can handle. He’s the perfect blend of a trained scholar and a cuddly, happy go lucky best friend! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69d92e0e46ec1036ed088b94 Questions? Who doesn’t love a fun, loving, full of life Husky that instantly puts a smile on your face because he just seems so happy all the time?! Well, say hello to Sid Smitty Truly the dog version of a human exclamation point. He has this contagious, feel-good energy about him that makes being around him so much fun. From what we’ve seen so far, Sid Smitty genuinely seems happiest when he’s included in whatever is going on. Hanging out with people? Amazing. Playing with dog friends? Best day ever. Getting attention and affection? Absolutely yes. He’s been incredibly sweet with everyone he’s met and has this way of melting right into you for love like he’s known you forever. What makes him extra special though is that he really seems to have the best of both worlds personality-wise. He can be playful, goofy, and full of silly Husky fun one minute, then perfectly content cuddling up beside you soaking in affection the next. He’s also done great around kids and overall just gives off that “life is more fun when this dog is around” kind of vibe. Watch his video and fall in love with this guy: https://youtu.be/0fXkEOavbus?si=kyyQdMDCbkOvIRgU Sid Smitty is believed to be a Husky mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 59 lbs. Which seems like a big number on paper and when you’re reading it. He is a big dog but he’s more legs, height and fluff than he is poundage. And as if Sid wasn’t already unique enough, this boy has one random little black spot right in the middle of his tail like someone accidentally booped him with a paintbrush and decided, “yep, perfect, leave it.” It’s such a silly little detail but somehow makes him even cuter and gives him so much character. Like his tail needed its own beauty mark or something LOL. If you watched his video then you saw his interactions around a 2 year old. Sid was honestly SO sweet with her and seemed genuinely happy just being included in all the little moments and chaos. Right away he was confidently going up to her while she was swinging a cat toy around everywhere, following her around curiously, and just happily existing in the middle of all the action. He wasn’t bothered by whining, crying noises, or unpredictable toddler energy at all. And despite being a goofy Husky boy with basically zero spatial awareness LOL, he was naturally very gentle with her. One of the sweetest moments was when they were both up on the couch together and Sid completely melted into her, like fully laid on her like a giant fluffy weighted blanket just soaking up the cuddles. It was one of those moments where everyone in the room was like “okay wait… this is ridiculously cute.” Based off what we’ve seen, he really seems to have a lot of potential to make a super fun, affectionate family dog in the right home. With other dogs, Sid has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced him to. He has been with dogs ranging in sizes (some as small as 8lbs) and personalities. From what we have seen, Sid gravitates towards playful dogs like himself the most. And when he does find a playmate, he truly shines. Consistent of games of chase, wrestling matches, and if you know shepherds, then you know they like to throw paws and love mouthy type play. In a home, he would do great with a fun, happy, confident female that likes to play, enjoys rowdy play and also a dog that appreciates the calmer hangout moments too. If you don’t have other dogs that’s fine too. We believe Sid could be just as happy being the center of your attention. Sid also met our house cat Biggie and appeared to be just as friendly with him as he is with dogs. Almost as if Biggie was another pal to play with. Biggie is very dog savvy and is comfortable around dogs and will even play with dogs he is comfortable with. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for him to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Yes, Sid can be a super fun, active, adventurous guy but he also has a calm side as well. He has had no problem making himself feel right at home and will lay right on top of you if you let him. Who doesn't love GSD snuggles?! He seems to already have some level of understanding that play time is an outside luxury and has good house manners. Though, he has shown that he is comfortable with couch cuddles and may attempt to sneak a snack or too off tables LOL. He hasn’t done it yet, but with his love for food and the advantage of being on the taller side. A small plate of your leftovers might be really tempting for him. Sid has enjoyed playing with toys, in particular rope toys and toys that he can play tug with. He also likes to play with balls too! In all honesty, we believe he would like playing with any kind of toy if that means you’re engaging in the play too. From what we have seen, Sid isn’t play play play 24/7. A little fun outdoors with his doggy friends or backyard play sessions with people, Sid will be prepped and ready for snuggles. Not feeling snuggly? That’s fine. He has been really good about finding a cozy spot on the floor and settling in with his favorite toy and is perfectly content doing his own thing. We are willing to test Sid Smitty with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Picture this...it’s Saturday morning. You’re grabbing coffee, maybe heading to the park, maybe just running a few errands… and right by your side is Daphne Dos, happily along for the ride, riding shotgun like she owns the place, soaking in every moment with that big, happy smile. Fast forward a few hours, you’re home, shoes off, and there she is again. Splooted out on the cool kitchen floor or curled up on the couch, completely content just being near you. That’s Daphne Dos. She’s not just a dog you have… she’s a dog you do life with. Watch her video and fall in love with her personality: https://youtu.be/NP1moGvOHoI Daphne Dos is believed to be a Husky mix approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 50 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Daphne is the kind of dog people are hoping to find but don’t always come across. Fun, social, easy to live with, and just the right mix of adventure buddy and couch companion. She’s got that classic husky personality (yes, a little expressive, yes, a little “woo woo” commentary), but it comes in the most charming, entertaining way. She’s not over the top, she’s just enough to keep you laughing and remind you that life is better with a little personality in it. She’s affectionate too and in the best way. She’ll hop up for snuggles, lean in for love, give you kisses… and then go lay nearby and do her own thing. She’s not glued to you 24/7, but she’s always there. It’s that perfect balance of connection without being overwhelming. Her energy is where she really shines. She’s what we’d call a perfect “semi-active” dog. She’s ready when you are. Walks, outings, beach days, patios, tagging along for everyday life but she’s not demanding constant activity. About 75% of her day? She’s lounging like a pro. Couch, tile floor, window watching (she takes this job very seriously, by the way). She adapts to your pace, your plans, your life, making her such an easy, natural fit into a home. Out in the world, she’s a total natural. She’s been to the beach, Home Depot, busy social spots, and handles it all like it’s no big deal. She’s curious, social, people-friendly, and genuinely enjoys being included. She’s the dog you take places because she makes it more fun.. And she is SMART. Not just “knows a few things” smart, we’re talking puzzle-solving, treat-catching, quick-learning kind of smart. She already knows sit, lay, stay, shake, and will politely wait her turn like the well-mannered queen she is. She thrives on mental stimulation, so even on slower days, a puzzle toy or quick training session keeps her happy and fulfilled. She’s the kind of dog that makes you want to engage with her because it’s actually fun. In the house, Daphne is the dream. No chaos, no destruction, no “what did she get into now?” moments. She’s fully potty trained, crate trained, and can be trusted to hang out freely. She settles easily, and has this calm, easy presence that just makes your home feel… better. She’s the kind of dog you can actually relax with. Daphne’s foster considers her fully potty trained and knows how to use a doggy door! In fact, this smart girl even knows how to flip the cover off if she needs to go potty but definitely don’t rely on the cover to keep her inside LOL she’ll help herself. And let’s not forget the little things that make her so fun. Her goofy personality, her love for window watching (seriously, leave the blinds open), her occasional husky “opinions,” her athletic little jumps, her curiosity about water, and just the way she carries herself like she knows she’s a good dog… because she is. Daphne is dog friendly and has been around a variety of different dogs all with different personalities and temperaments. Daphne is socially savvy and knows how to read the room. She prefers respectful introductions (no one likes a stranger sprinting into their personal space, right?), but once that’s established, she does great. Daphne also attends doggy day day care regularly and she enjoys one-on-one play like chase and wrestling, especially with dogs she knows and for the most part, she is off doing her own thing at day care. Daphne is fostered with 2 other large dogs and they get along great with each other. She plays with her foster’s Boxer girl the most. When she does play, she can be a little mouthy in that classic husky play style, but it’s all in good fun and not over the top. She’s also been around small dogs and did beautifully. She clearly understands the difference between “tiny friend” and “squirrel situation” (because yes… squirrels are absolutely her sworn enemy on walks). In a home, she would do best with a mellow male dog that enjoys the company of other dogs, will give her a little time in the beginning to get to know them, enjoys more chase type play rather than physical wrestle type play, and wants a doggy friend like Daphne to explore with. She'll be perfect for that and something special! Daphne would also do best in a home with no cats as she was a little too interested in our house cat Biggie. She’s also been around kids (ages 7–13) and fits right in. Calm, affectionate, and happy to be part of the family without adding to the chaos. She’s more of a “hang out and be included” kind of girl, which makes her such a great fit for a home environment. Daphne’s perfect home? A semi-active family, couple, or person who wants a dog to be part of their everyday life. Not just a dog that stays home, but a dog that goes with you. Errands, walks, outings, adventures and then comes home and crashes with you like she’s been yours forever. Because that’s really what Daphne is. She’s not a “maybe she’ll be great someday” dog. She’s already great. She’s the kind of dog that makes you look at her and think, I need this dog in my life! So if you’ve been waiting for a dog that just fits into your life, your routine, your plans, Daphne Dos is ready. We are willing to test Daphne Dos with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
