Story
Akira is a 3 year old husky/german shepherd mix. We adopted her when she was 6 months old from Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary. She is friendly dog who enjoys walks, playing ball, cooling off in her pool and playing with other dogs. She is very energetic and playful and takes a while to settle down. Once settled she is very cuddly or just enjoys a nice sprawl out. She can be nervous and shy in new situations but warms up pretty quickly. Akira would do well where she is the only dog or with dogs similar size to her. With her size and playfulness small dogs or cats would not be best as she does not realize her own size and energy level. She has been around kids of all ages and is great with them, but sometimes her energy can be a little overwhelming for very young children. She is trained and knows commands of sit, settle (laydown), wait, leave it, spin, etc. She passed 2 classes at Pet Smart She is food motivated so would not be good with another dog that is also food motivated.

Story
🌟Name: Danny 🐕Breed: Husky/Beagle mix 🎂 Age: 9 years ⚖️Weight: ~60 lbs Danny is a big, fluffy goofball with soulful brown eyes and a heart just as warm. At 9 years young, he still has a surprising amount of pep in his step and a personality that will keep you smiling. He recently finished heartworm treatment, and once he’s cleared, we’ll be able to reintroduce him to other animals—but prior to treatment, he lived peacefully with both a small and medium-sized dog. 🐶 Personality & Training: Danny is a gentle soul who thrives on human companionship. He knows sit and stay when coming inside or at mealtimes, and he’ll even lay down when he’s in the mood. He’s very food-motivated, so continuing training will be a breeze. Though he tries to be gentle, Danny doesn’t always realize his size—he’s a bit of a lovable klutz—so a home with older kids would be best. He loves attention and would prefer someone who’s home most of the day to keep him company. He’s happy to sleep in a crate at night but would love nothing more than to curl up beside you in bed. Since his heartworm treatment restrictions have been lifted, he’s finally able to let loose and enjoy some well-earned zoomies! ✂️Grooming Needs: Danny has a thick, fluffy coat that needs regular brushing—and he’s more than happy to oblige! If you’re looking for a loyal, laid-back, affectionate companion with a few goofy quirks and a lot of love to give, Danny might just be your guy. Story
Looking for a dog who’s got enough personality to fill your whole heart (and maybe a bit of your couch)? Meet Mini, an energetic 42lb, playful, smart, and incredibly lovable pup who’s ready to find her forever family! Mini is always up for a game of fetch, a hike, or just zooming around the yard. This pup thrives on activity and stimulation and would love an active home that can match her playful spirit. She`s a pro at puzzle toys, and loves learning new things! Snuggle time is also a must - when the energy winds down, Mini is all about the cuddles.Mini was found with another dog and would do best in a home with another confident adult dog who can show her the ropes. Although she`s very vocal when she sees another dog, as soon as she meets them she typically wants to play. Because of how exciting cars are to her, a fenced yard would be beneficial for this girl but not necessarily required as long as she is on a leash or tie out and monitored. Cats are a little too exciting for Mini, so a feline-free home would be a must. She`s incredibly food motivated and has impressed us with her intelligence, making training fun and rewarding for everyone!Like many of us, Mini has a few quirks that make her extra special. We’re currently working on things like reactivity to cars during walks and being calm when seeing new dogs through positive training, she is making great progress! A patient, dog-savvy adopter who’s open to continuing this journey will get to witness firsthand the rewarding progress as Mini gains more confidence and skills. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Meet Vixen, a 3-year-old husky mix with soulful blue eyes and a heart as big as her fluffy coat! She’s the perfect blend of active and easygoing— always up for a run or a cuddle. While she has the classic Husky spirit, Vixen thrives in a peaceful environment and feels most comfortable around calm, well-mannered dogs who prefer chasing over wrestling. She would do best in a home with a mellow canine friend or as your one-and-only fluffy companion.Vixen is very leash-savvy and loves puzzle toys and games like fetch that keep her brain busy. She`s a champ for vet visits and is very well-behaved, and even rides well for the car ride there! She is working on her potty training in a foster home. Vixen is well-mannered indoors, Vixen doesn`t need to be crated when left alone. Although she`s not a fan of baths, she`ll tolerate them with some praise and treats. She loves humans of all ages and would make a wonderful addition to a laid-back and active household that enjoys nature hikes and steady routines. Vixen will do best in a home without cats. Please note: - Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed. - Applications can be downloaded from our website.
