Story
Welcome Oliver to CCPAL Rescue. Oliver is an 8-month old Jack Rat (Jack Russell/Rat Terrier). He is about 12 pounds and is a small dog with a scruffy and wire-haired coat. He is a lower shedding dog and would make a great walking companion. He is confident, social, outgoing, affectionate and adorable. He isn’t clingy but likes being held and is great with other dogs. He is in the puppy play group with girls, boys and dogs bigger and older than him. I would think his breed would love to chase squirrels out of the yard. He is good in his kennel and not overly vocal. He is getting his vaccines and will be neutered and ready for his forever home soon. He is adorable. He would be fine as a family dog with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is fine with baths and nail trims. He is learning leash manners. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Story
Meet Mahogany aka Maggie, a sweet and shy ~2 -3 year old spayed female small terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs! Maggie was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in Kentucky along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Sycamore, etc.). She is currently being fostered in CT and is ready to find her furever home!  Maggie is a shy/nevous girl who takes some time to trust and warm up to new people. She wants so badly to connect with people, but she is scared and unsure. Once she knows you are safe, she is a sweet girl. She is looking for someone who will be patient with her and give her a little time and space to come to them on her own terms. She is worth the wait!   Maggie is good with other dogs, people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to her nervous/timid nature). She has not been cat tested, but we feel she would likely be fine with cats.  She is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while acclimating to a new environment/routine), and crate trained. Apply to meet this special girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2556206##

Story
Meet Sparky, a super cute young adult neutered male small terrier mix, weighing about 20 lbs! This little guy was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN. We took him into rescue and he fell ill shortly after being placed into a foster home. He tested positive for parvo, which he was treated for and has made a full recovery. Sparky has received a clean bill of health from the vet and is now ready for his freedom ride north to find his furever home! He will be arriving in CT on 1/10/26, and we are accepting applications on him now! Sparky is a sweet, friendly boy who is good with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents first few days while adjusting to a new home/routine), and crate trained. A 100% good doggo! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!   Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms.
