Story
Lita is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. We know that Lita is a wire-haired Jack Russell Terrier mix. She is just over 1 year of age and she weighs 21 pounds. Lita also has an adorable head tilt. She is sweet, active, and playful. She loves to be cuddled and petted. At first, Lita was terrified of the other dogs, but now she loves to run and play with all of the other dogs. Lita does like to chase cats. Lita is a JRT, she is very smart, and she will jump a 4'-5' fence or gate to go chase a squirrel or cat. She must have a secure 6' fence to prevent escape. We put a training collar on her for about a week and she quickly learned to stay in the yard and to come when called. Lita is crate-trained and will run and get in her crate when it is time to do so. She obviously received no training from the person who previously had her, but she is very smart and learns quickly. Lita may need more work with housetraining and her house manners have gotten much better - she no longer chews on things that she is not supposed to. Lita must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and must have a secure, 6-foot-tall fenced yard to run and play. Lita is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Litas' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Danbury, Glastonbury, or Union CT. She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
Sugar and Spice and everything nice! Spice and her sister Sugar were rescued from a pretty sad living situation. They are around 30 pounds and roughly one year old. Both sisters love attention from their human friends and also love other dogs. They are bonded and would love a home together, but can be adopted separately. Spice is tan with white and black markings. She's submissive, but does have a "spicy attitude and will let you know what she thinks about it! Overall, she has a very calm and relaxed demeanor especially when she knows she is in a safe place/at home. She does well with potty training, but is still working on leash training. She is very gentle and loving with a little side of sass! Spice would make a great pet for almost any home. She is ready to be adopted and can travel to her adoptive home now! If you're interested in welcoming me or any of my delightful Funny Farm companions into your home, kindly visit ffpets.org. There, you can find information about our Tennessee-based rescue, and gain insights into the adoption process! The adoption fee is $325, with an additional $200 required for transportation. Please note that at the moment, this adorable pet is in the care of a foster home in Tennessee but will be lovingly transported to your location once the adoption process is successfully completed. Story
Dottie suffered with severe pneumonia when coming into rescue, she spent nearly a week in an oxygen kennel at the emergency vet. When she turned a corner and started feeling better she showed us just how spunky she is! A young girl, 1-2 years old, and full of energy! She is very interested in what is going on in the world around her, lives to explore and is a great walking or hiking buddy, even with her adorable stubby legs. She's good with other dogs, but we don't know about cats. Dottie is still a whole lot of puppy and is working on some puppy manners when she gets excited, like mouthy playing and jumping up, but our training partner has been working with her. She's crate trained, house trained once she adjusts to her new schedule and ready for her happily ever after! Dottie is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines. Dottie is fostered in GA and will be attending our Adoption Event. Save time, fill out an Application to be preapproved to adopt at our event. Preapproved adopters may schedule appointments to meet dogs on Friday, May 17th. Our pets are in CT, GA and PA foster homes. Dogs in CT are ready to meet you! Dogs in PA may be able to come to CT prior to the event to meet adopters (depends on availability of foster homes). Dogs in GA will arrive right before the event so you must come to the event to meet them. Fill out an online application to start the adoption process.
