Story
All she wants for Christmas is a home of her own. Can you help? Josie is your typical Jack Russell terrier! She is a busy body and can be a bit persnickety but she loves her squeaky toys and her chews. Josie is not so great with other dogs and is possessive of her stuff! She has accepted my dogs but mine don't challenge anyone or get in their face. Josie would love an only dog home with maybe a retired couple who would include her in their daily lives. A fenced in yard or small protected area would be great for Josie! Add a toy box of squeakies and she will be a happy camper! Josie is crate trained and has rarely had an accident so I suspect she is most likely house trained or easily transitioned. Josie has been with me awhile as she had a severely luxated patella that required surgery for pain relief. Her surgery was completed and as successful as possible. Josie does use her leg especially when running around like a maniac. But when just standing there, she will often hold that leg up. The vet feels it's just a learned behavior from favoring the leg for so long! In any event, Josie has been in foster way too long and deserves a loving home of her very own! Josie is a young adult and weighs about 10#! Josie is the dog pictured in front of the camera. Baby Girl is behind her.

Story
Hey there, my name is Spinner and I'm an adorable four-month-old puppy with lots of energy and love to give! I'm an excitable little guy who's always up for a game of fetch or tug of war. I'm also incredibly smart and curious, and am always ready to learn new tricks. I love to run around and explore, but I also love nothing more than curling up on the couch for a nice long nap. I'm a bit shy at first, but I'm very friendly and I warm up quickly. If you're looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion, I'm the pup for you! Please put in an application to adopt me today! Spinner Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Roxy Breed: Jack Russell Terrier Mix Sex/Age/Weight: Female/8 years old/10lbs Vetting: Up to date on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Please see the special notes regarding Roxy's cancer diagnosis. House-trained/Crate-trained: I am fully house-trained and crate-trained, although my foster parents leave me out of the crate when they are not around. I spend most of my time sleeping anyways. Dogs/Cats/Children: I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I also don’t like cats very much. I have never been around children inside a home but I have met a couple on walks and I seem to like them. Energy Level: Low energy but I enjoy going on short walks. Before FAR/My History: Before coming to FAR, I was surrendered due to a cancerous mass. Since then, I have undergone three surgeries to remove the masses. The vet mentioned that there is still a possibility that the cancer may have spread to other parts of my body. There is also a possibility that the cancerous masses that were removed will come back. The type of cancer I have is an aggressive form of doggy breast cancer. However, I have been doing well and have been gaining weight under the care of my foster parents. Things I like: Cuddles, treats, and getting love. Things I don’t like: Loud noises. Ideal Family/Home: I am a senior dog with special needs, but I am still a loving and sweet companion. I am hoping to find a peaceful and comfortable place to spend my golden years. Special Notes: Roxy is a senior dog with special needs, and due to her cancer diagnosis may require extensive medical care. If you are interested in giving Roxy a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. Story
Ricochet is a 5-6 month old JRT/Chihuhaua/Pomeranian mix. Ricochet is timid at first, but as soon as he smells you, he gets super excited! Once he feels comfortable with you (which is pretty quick!) he becomes a complete cuddle bug. He will launch himself into a barrel roll into your lap and demand cuddles and belly rubs. He is very playful, and loves chasing after toys. He's good with other dogs, cats and kids and is doing great with housebreaking and crate training. Since Ricochet is so full of energy, he would benefit from mental stimulation games and would benefit from obedience classes to become a well mannered boy.    If you'd like to welcome this sweet boy into your family, please fill out an application on our website: www.astdogrescue.com  ##2051043##
