Story
Meet Colby Jack! Colby is a happy 4 year old Jack RussellBoxer mix. Colby adores being with his people especially when he gets lots of cuddles. He leans into your leg when he's getting lovies and shows you his big smile! Colby enjoys hanging out with laid back dogs. He and his foster sister, Elly, enjoy rambling around the backyard finding new things to sniff.  He weighs approximately 35lbs which is a good, manageable size for your lap!. He loves to play with humans but may be a bit too playful for toddlers or younger children. He’s crate trained but it is not his favorite place to be. He walks well on a leash and would make a great hiking or running buddy. Colby spent the first year of his life on a chain and has really blossomed into a very loving dog who craves attention. We think Colby would do best with a family that doesn't live in a congested area with lots of noise and has another dog to play with. He doesn't care for delivery trucks entering his domain or lots of strangers. Colby is very smart but craves attention and stong leadership, He really needs a strong pack leader to help him along his journey. . He passed his professional obedience training with flying colors so he already knows the basics. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. Colby is available for adoption at www.dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org         ##1087310##

Story
Hey, You, I think you are awesome! I haven't even met you yet, but I LOVE everyone I meet. I am Oskar Diego. I am about five years old and weigh forty-five pounds.   And while I only have a few teeth in the back of my mouth (just enough to chew delicious treats),  I'm strong and healthy! I have a good solid poop, you humans love that, right?  I am pretty good at walking on a leash. I enjoy spending time on the deck with you; staying inside is cool as long as we are together.  Not that I'm not good on my own; I'm a pretty self-sufficient young man, but I like to be near.  If you work from home or are home often, I will follow you and lie close to you. I want to be close to my people. But if you need to leave for a day, it's ok, I probably will nap all day. I have a good balance of sleep and play throughout the day.   I may take my time getting used to other pets, but I have experience living with other dogs, so I'm sure it's going to be ok. You will need to learn to shower me, because I may be scared of squirting water. And I have a strong personality: if I don't want to do something - you're going to hear about it. So, bring treats. They help to build trust and friendship between us. I am looking for: 1. A home where I can sit on the furniture with you and preferably on you! 2. A family that appreciates all of my kisses and hugs. I give A LOT of them! 3. A family that will be patient as I continue to learn good manners. 4. a family will treat me with respect: don't yell at me (I'm very well-behaved, I don't deserve it) and don't pull or jerk me around (my body - my rules). If you want anything from me - show a treat - I'm very smart, we will figure it out  I am extremely loving and looking to share my love with a family!           An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:  Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.           April 25, 2024, 10:33 pm

Story
Meet Honey Honey was named because she is as sweet as Honey! This young pup is an absolute love! Honey was at risk of euthanasia due to over-crowding. We rescued Honey, her mate Scout and another beauty named Dot. They are all safe at our no-kill shelter. We fell in love with Honey from the moment we saw her interactions with people, other dogs, and kitties! She loves them all. Honey is a gorgeous mixed breed – maybe Boston, maybe Jack Russell, it’s so hard to know. Honey is on the small side at eight months she’s only 31 lbs. She may top out at 35 lbs, but she is small and compact. She has a gorgeous fawn colored short coat, tall-standing ears, an alert and intelligent face and an athletic physique. She is stunning! Honey is friendly, affectionate, silly, fun-loving, calm, quiet, gentle, athletic, smart and sooooo sweet. Honey LOVES people, dogs and kitties. Every interaction is fun and she has an open and sociable personality. She walks well on a leash. She loves hiking, and playing with toys. Honey loves her mate Scout and will be adopted with her. Honey likes to travel and hike. She’d do great for those adventures out to wineries and cafes. She’ll love to curl up with her people on a comfy couch or a sunny porch. Hard to believe that someone let Honey go, because she is a keeper. We are smitten with this girl and know that you will be too. If interested in Honey and Scout, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully received. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with a current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also rescued from local and area Animal Controls. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Adoptions and meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only. Complete an application and someone will be in touch just as soon as they can. An application doesn’t commit you or us to an adoption, but it allows our coordinator to begin the review process. Story
Just look at this Coffee County cutie! April was found as a stray in south Georgia. She was in very early pregnancy so they were able to spay her before she had to try to carry eleven puppies to term. She is barely past being a puppy herself at 1.5 years old. She is a beautiful girl weighing about 16 pounds. April is UTD on her vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to find a home which will keep her safe and happy. Right now she is not a fan of other dogs (no surprise after what may have happened running free.) We will get her on the website as soon as we can but applications are being taken! https://www.jackrusselladoptions.org/adopt-a-dog/

Story
Katherine and her sister Victoria arrived at rescue in February 2024. They were rescued by neighbors when their people moved out and left them. Now (March 24) at about 13 or 14 weeks old, Victoria has just been adopted and Katherine is looking for her new home. She has had two sets of puppy shots so far. She will require spaying when she is older (it is the law, and we enforce it). She is intelligent, confident, friendly, inquisitive, and happy. We will not adopt where there are small children in the house. Puppies are fragile and they bite! As always, the rescue folks require that potential adopters have a secure, above-ground, fenced yard for my safety and security. https://www.jackrusselladoptions.org/adopt-a-dog/

Story
He is Blue, he will be 2 years old in February, he is a good boy and is very good with well-behaved children. He was bought when he was just 3 weeks old. Unfortunately I can't continue having him at home because I have a 1-month-old baby and I don't have the time he deserves.
