Hey, You, I think you are awesome! I haven't even met you yet, but I LOVE everyone I meet. I am Oskar Diego. I am about five years old and weigh forty-five pounds. And while I only have a few teeth in the back of my mouth (just enough to chew delicious treats), I'm strong and healthy! I have a good solid poop, you humans love that, right? I am pretty good at walking on a leash. I enjoy spending time on the deck with you; staying inside is cool as long as we are together. Not that I'm not good on my own; I'm a pretty self-sufficient young man, but I like to be near. If you work from home or are home often, I will follow you and lie close to you. I want to be close to my people. But if you need to leave for a day, it's ok, I probably will nap all day. I have a good balance of sleep and play throughout the day. I may take my time getting used to other pets, but I have experience living with other dogs, so I'm sure it's going to be ok. You will need to learn to shower me, because I may be scared of squirting water. And I have a strong personality: if I don't want to do something - you're going to hear about it. So, bring treats. They help to build trust and friendship between us. I am looking for: 1. A home where I can sit on the furniture with you and preferably on you! 2. A family that appreciates all of my kisses and hugs. I give A LOT of them! 3. A family that will be patient as I continue to learn good manners. 4. a family will treat me with respect: don't yell at me (I'm very well-behaved, I don't deserve it) and don't pull or jerk me around (my body - my rules). If you are looking for a best friend, you’re in luck, because so is Little Bean. He wants to be friends with everyone he meets! Kids and other dogs really get his tail wagging. He benefits from patience and a fairly calm environment due to his past. Speaking of his past, not only is Little Bean sweet and lovable- he is a fighter! When he came to Hero Rescue, the Emergency Vet suspected he and been hit by a car and he had deep wounds that suggest something may have been embedded in his skin for a long time. He had to spend several days in the ER vet, but finally Little Bean pulled through and got a taste of the good life with his foster family. Now that his foster family has had some time to bond with him, they can’t help but brag about what a good boy he is. He crates well, is making great progress with potty training, and has excellent recall skills. He is smart, silly, and laid back and would make an excellent family pet. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
