Story
Meet Ellie — your daily dose of sunshine, laughter, and pure joy wrapped up in one adorable little terrier body. Ellie is a 2 ½-year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier mix who lives life at full speed and with her whole heart. From the moment you meet her, you’ll notice her bright, happy energy and the way she seems to make everything feel just a little bit more fun. She’s the kind of dog who wakes up excited for the day, ready to play, love, and soak up every bit of attention she can get. Look how adorable she is in her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/y9AcxeTtH88?si=HAW1GSZ0XWRIMbAF This girl absolutely loves love. Whether she’s rolling right into your lap for belly rubs, leaning into you for pets, or happily dancing around to make you smile (yes—she can actually do a cute little dance!), Ellie thrives on connection with her people. She isn’t just affectionate—she’s fully devoted to being your happy little shadow and your built-in source of entertainment. Ellie is also a playful, energetic spirit who is always ready for action. Toys, zoomies, games, exploring—if it sounds fun, Ellie is already there. She’s currently in a foster home with multiple other dogs and is very social, especially when it comes to playtime. She loves having dog friends who are just as excited about playing as she is. In fact, she would do best with a canine companion who can match her enthusiasm and keep up with her playful personality. She just gets so excited to have fun that she can come on a little strong with more laid-back dogs—but it all comes from a place of pure joy and eagerness. Because of her social nature, Ellie would thrive either as: • The only dog in the home, soaking up all the love and attention for herself, or • With a playful, high-energy dog who will happily romp around with her What makes Ellie extra special is her personality. She’s not just cute (though she absolutely is with that scruffy face and bright eyes)—she’s funny. She has this silly, expressive way about her that keeps you smiling. Between her little dance moves, her playful antics, and her love of flopping dramatically into your lap for attention, she brings so much life and laughter wherever she goes. At the end of the day, Ellie is a dog who just wants to love big, play hard, and be right by your side through it all. She’s looking for a home that will embrace her joyful energy, appreciate her goofy charm, and give her the active, loving life she deserves. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you smiling, keep you moving, and remind you every single day how fun life can be—Ellie is your girl. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? At 8 months old, he is still very much a puppy and is enjoying the exciting stage of life where every day brings new experiences, learning opportunities, and adventures. He loves being involved with his people and would thrive in a home that enjoys an active, engaged companion. Baltazar is at an ideal age for continuing training, building confidence, and creating strong lifelong bonds with his future family. As a Jack Russell Terrier mix, Baltazar may show traits such as: Intelligence and eagerness to learn Playful and energetic personality Strong attachment to his family Curiosity and confidence Enjoyment of walks, games, and mental challenges Jack Russell mixes are known for their lively personalities and devotion to their people. They thrive when provided with exercise, structure, enrichment, and positive interaction. Baltazar would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily walks and exercise Continued puppy training and guidance Mental stimulation and enrichment Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being Young dogs require significant time, patience, training, supervision, and financial commitment as they continue growing and developing. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Young dogs especially still require continued guidance, structure, patience, and supervision as they mature. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Adopting a young dog means being prepared for: Potty training reinforcement and occasional accidents Leash training and obedience work Jumping and playful puppy behavior Continued socialization and confidence-building Daily exercise, structure, and supervision Routine veterinary care Financial commitment throughout the dog's lifetime Baltazar will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Exercise and mental stimulation Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, dogs like Baltazar blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Baltazar will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary visits and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because Baltazar is still a young dog, consistency and structure are especially important in helping him mature into a confident and well-balanced adult dog. Story
Hi! My name is Piper! I was found abandoned and taken to a high kill shelter in Fresno, CA. I am safe now with my rescue in Oregon. I’m estimated to be 2.5 months old, I weigh approximately 6.5lbs, and up to date on my vaccines. I’m microchipped, crate training and learning very quickly to potty on my potty pads. I’m super smart! I’m told I’m a wiggly girl because I’m super playful. I love everyone and do great around other dogs. I just want to play with kitties, but they don’t want to play with me! So I’m okay with cats if they can tolerate me. I’m a fun pup!! Once I’m done playing I’m also cuddly. If you are interested in adopting me, please go directly to my rescues website at savingonepawatatimerescue.org to complete my adoption application. I look forward to meeting my new family!! Love, Piper
