Chowder is a handsome, lively little pup that we rescued out of a California shelter. He was mostly in a foster home in California where he received lots of good socialization and handling. He is such a happy, confident little guy! - Approximate date of birth: 7/1/26 - Weighed 8 pounds on 10/29/26 and we believe Chowder will likely top out under 25 pounds full grown. We cannot guarantee size at maturity but he should be a smaller dog. Alfred is a sweet cuddly boy looking for his forever home.  Next to nothing is known about Freddy, who was apparently dumped with a female friend in a local field.  Even though he was ill-treated prior to coming to OFOSA, he has settled right in with the crew at the foster home.  Friendly with and to all, 2 or 4 legged.  He has some skittishness at transitions (putting on or taking off harness; in or out of car, etc. ). So patience and a soft voice works wonders.  He is a good eater, not picky at all, very patient while waiting.  It`s a good idea to keep full or empty dishes well away from him. ha ha as he will finish them. He is a beautiful boy, with eyes almost the color as his light red coat. Nothing is known about his opinion of cats.  He loves to snuggle up to any and everyone, whether in a dog bed, a human bed, or under the covers with foster mom. Meet Aspen, a chihuahua who may have some terrier in her. She loves people, although she takes a little time to warm up to them.  Aspen still has a bit of puppy in her, but is toilet trained, and good at letting you know if she needs to go.  As a young dog, Just 1 year old, she is still working on following commands.  She is fairly good at going into her crate, walking on a leash, and will come when called.  Sit, stay, and heel are a bit hit or miss.   She’s also learning to live with cats.  She can be nice and sit with them, but if the cat runs, she wants to chase.    Did I mention that she loves people?  She does best when she’s around humans and loves to cuddle.  She may whine for a bit when left alone.   As a young dog, if she is bored, she might shred some of your stuff.  She’s a very sweet dog, even if she does misbehave sometimes, and she’d love for you to adopt her!
