Story
Prim is just downright precious. She is like a little sweet pea, weighing in at 25 pounds. We believe Prim is some sort of Jack Russel terrier mix! With rescue, this is only our best guess, but she is 100% that girl! Prim is the type of girl who doesn’t know a stranger. She is very people oriented and loves a good cuddle. She is super duper small dog friendly, we think bigger dogs can be a little intimidating for her because of her size. But she got along with everyone here at the rescue, big and small, canine and feline! She is just a dreamy little thing, and we can see her as the perfect family dog too! Watch Prim being the princess that she is and come back to read more about her! https://youtu.be/AQU2usK8lE4?si=dr1BEnHMUQaHHu6G Prim is polishing up her leash skills in her loving foster home while she waits for her forever family to come along and swoop her up! She has a fantastic auto-sit. She is very treat motivated so if you want to teach her some special tricks, Prim will be right there waiting and ready! We have a sneaking suspicion she likes toys, but she would rather give kisses to her people if you will let her! She will make you feel so loved! Prims ideal home would have a big yard she can run around in! You can tell this girl loves to be outside soaking in the nice cool breeze and sunlight. I can picture it now, Prim hanging out in the grass while you water the flowers, or maybe tend to your garden? Or Prim could babysit the kids while you make them some yummy snacks to share inside? Either way, Prim is just happy to be involved. Although we have not officially kid tested prim yet, we would be happy to test her with any age you may need. Just say the word! Are you ready to add her to your family? Apply for Prim right here, hurry! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6813b20343c9222f670c4266 Questions? The adoption fee is $1000 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
What has the cutest airplane ears and freckles all over? Loretta of course! Loretta is a small to medium little girl weighing in a just 35 pounds! She’s giving us all of the Jack Russel terrier and Labrador retriever vibes. Loretta is just 3 years old, and she’s outgrown her puppy years— so she is a very calm well mannered girl. We can’t help but melt at the sight of this gentle girl having so much fun and showing us her true self— just a girl who wants to love you, and wants love back. This sweet girl can come off as a little shy at first… but once you get her to open up you see her true fun side. Are you looking for a loyal companion who will instantly make your day better when you come home? Well Loretta is waiting to great you at the door with a big smile and lots of kisses and hugs! Who wouldn’t want that? Ready to meet her yet? Well come on!🩷 Watch Loretta here: https://youtu.be/wFtgimakyg0?si=IynuL39AN7OgxpIZ Her foster mom says her favorite thing about Loretta is how excited she gets to see her... Since she is such a sweet and shy girl, it makes her person (could be you) feel sooooo special. She currently is fostered with 6, yes 6, other doggy friends! She doesnt mind hanging with her friends and enjoys a play date every now and then, but if she had it her way, a low key daily life would be her preference. She likes her space and we cant blame her, dont we all? If she had it her way, her perfect match would be a low energy male who is not pushy or in her face. She wouldn’t mind being your perfect one and only shining star either! She is great with kids but would fit best in a home with older kids who understand that need for space that Loretta seeks sometimes. Loretta currently lives with three boys ages 4, 9, and 12. This girl would probably be best in a home with a yard with room to explore, but she could possibly live in an apartment with the right family. We believe this because of how quiet she is! Her low energy would make her a candidate for apartment living as well. She has been working on her loose leash walking and she is rocking it! We see many a neighborhood walk in her future! She sleeps in her crate at night, and does well if she needs to be in the crate a few times throughout the day. She enjoys lounging in her doggy bed or on the couch if you will let her! We found her jumping up for snuggles when she came to hang out with us one day. She will snuggle all day if you let her! Her favorite toy is a deer antler to chew on! This is hilarious because she actually reminds us of a little deer, with her spots and her prancing! She really does jump through the grass and flowers like a baby fawn would. Another plus about this sweet girl is how she will let us handle her. She lets her handler take toys and food from her, clip her nails, brush her, and bathe her. She lets you get things done! Patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping Oddie learn new commands and good manners. What to Expect When Adopting a Dog: Commitment: Adopting a dog is a long-term commitment. Dogs like Oddie can live for 10-15 years or more, so be prepared for a lifelong companionship. Healthcare: Regular vet check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care (like flea and tick prevention) are important to keep Oddie healthy. Grooming: Depending on his coat, Oddie may require regular grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. Love and Patience: Building a bond with your new dog takes time. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs — for them, one application will be fine. Because we have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news, and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions finding our fur babies the most loving homes. Please do not apply if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Buddy the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age-appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and travel expenses. All our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for their transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

Hello there! I'm Penelope, a shining star waiting to sparkle in my forever family's life! 🌟 I arrived with my tiny but mighty friend Trooper after we were discovered on the side of the road in Klickitat County. Despite our finders' diligent search, no family has come forward, but I believe this is an opportunity for us to find a love that's meant to be! 💕 I'm not spayed yet, but I'm scheduled for my appointment, so my future family can focus on giving me all the love and snuggles I deserve! 🐾 I'm a sweet and gentle soul, and although I need some guidance on wearing a collar and walking on a leash, I'm eager to learn and grow with a patient and loving companion. The incredible volunteers here are confident they can help me master these skills in no time! 🙌 As they get to know me better, they'll share updates here, and I just know that together, we'll create a tale of love, hope, and happiness! 📚

Story
Meet Misty Misty is a young, sweet, and playful 1 year old cattle dog/terrier mix, currently weighing about 10 lbs. She is a petite girl with a big heart and is looking for her forever home. Misty is currently being fostered in Scappoose, OR and is getting along really well with her foster cat siblings and a foster dog sisters and brother. She's the kind of pup who believes everyone is her friend. She’s got a playful spirit and a brain to match. Fetch is her favorite game, and she’s already learning commands like “sit.” She's also learning to relax calmly when her foster parents are working. Treats help, of course—she’s food motivated and eager to please! Misty would be a great fit for a family or individual looking for a sweet, smart, and energetic pup who also loves to cuddle. She has plenty of puppy energy and she is also affectionate and flexible. Do you have the time to devote to a new and energetic puppy with exercise needs? She’s got a playful spirit and a brain to match. Fetch is her favorite game, and she’s already learning commands like “sit.” She's also learning to relax calmly when her foster parents are working. Treats help, of course—she’s food motivated and eager to please! Misty hasn't lived with kids or very young children, but her gentle, friendly nature suggests she could be a good fit for children over 8 with proper introductions, or for families with younger children that have experience with herding dogs.
