Story
Meet Ellie — your daily dose of sunshine, laughter, and pure joy wrapped up in one adorable little terrier body. Ellie is a 2 ½-year-old Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier mix who lives life at full speed and with her whole heart. From the moment you meet her, you’ll notice her bright, happy energy and the way she seems to make everything feel just a little bit more fun. She’s the kind of dog who wakes up excited for the day, ready to play, love, and soak up every bit of attention she can get. Look how adorable she is in her YouTube video now https://youtu.be/y9AcxeTtH88?si=HAW1GSZ0XWRIMbAF This girl absolutely loves love. Whether she’s rolling right into your lap for belly rubs, leaning into you for pets, or happily dancing around to make you smile (yes—she can actually do a cute little dance!), Ellie thrives on connection with her people. She isn’t just affectionate—she’s fully devoted to being your happy little shadow and your built-in source of entertainment. Ellie is also a playful, energetic spirit who is always ready for action. Toys, zoomies, games, exploring—if it sounds fun, Ellie is already there. She’s currently in a foster home with multiple other dogs and is very social, especially when it comes to playtime. She loves having dog friends who are just as excited about playing as she is. In fact, she would do best with a canine companion who can match her enthusiasm and keep up with her playful personality. She just gets so excited to have fun that she can come on a little strong with more laid-back dogs—but it all comes from a place of pure joy and eagerness. Because of her social nature, Ellie would thrive either as: • The only dog in the home, soaking up all the love and attention for herself, or • With a playful, high-energy dog who will happily romp around with her What makes Ellie extra special is her personality. She’s not just cute (though she absolutely is with that scruffy face and bright eyes)—she’s funny. She has this silly, expressive way about her that keeps you smiling. Between her little dance moves, her playful antics, and her love of flopping dramatically into your lap for attention, she brings so much life and laughter wherever she goes. At the end of the day, Ellie is a dog who just wants to love big, play hard, and be right by your side through it all. She’s looking for a home that will embrace her joyful energy, appreciate her goofy charm, and give her the active, loving life she deserves. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep you smiling, keep you moving, and remind you every single day how fun life can be—Ellie is your girl. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
**Now fostered in Truxton, NY** If you’re looking for a tiny queen with a big personality, a hilarious sense of humor, and just enough sass to keep life interesting… meet Bambi. This girl is pure entertainment wrapped up in the cutest little package. She’s the kind of dog who will have you laughing without even trying, flashing that big smile of hers, and somehow becoming the main character of your life overnight. Bambi doesn’t just exist in your home… she runs it (lovingly, of course). Watch her video and fall in love with her personality: https://youtu.be/2_n3tL3izY8?si=2MCNVAV5GmXcfkav Bambi is believed to be a chihuahua mix, around 6 years old, and approximately 30 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. What we can guarantee? She’s a certified Texas Special. A perfect mix of all the best things that somehow created one incredible dog. Let’s get one thing straight… Bambi is QUEEN B. She loves her people deeply and she absolutely expects her fair share (okay… all) of the love and attention. Belly rubs? Hers. Ear scratches? Hers. Treats? Also hers. And honestly, you won’t even mind because she makes it impossible not to adore her. She’s affectionate, snuggly, and will happily curl up with you on the couch. Especially if you’re wearing cozy clothes because yes, she is that kind of girl. She has a really fun, playful side too. Bambi loves tug-of-war, chasing toys, and bringing that bouncy, silly energy when she’s in the mood. She’s especially entertaining because sometimes she brings the game right into your lap. Personal space is optional when you’re having fun. Her favorite toys include Lamb Chop and her bunny, and if one falls off the couch? Out of sight, out of existence. It’s honestly hilarious. With other dogs, Bambi can be a bit particular. She’s not the type to love every dog she meets, but with the right match, she can really enjoy playtime, especially with dogs who match her energy and understand her style of play. Think confident, respectful dogs who enjoy wrestling, chase, and a little bit of rough-and-tumble fun, but who also know when to take breaks. She would also be perfectly happy as your one and only, soaking up all the attention and being the center of your world (which, let’s be honest, is her preference). She has met cats and did well overall, showing curiosity and even trying to initiate play. She would do best with a dog-savvy cat who doesn’t mind her playful interest and can hold their own if needed. Bambi is a smart girl who loves to learn. She already knows sit, shake, stay, and is working on lay down. She’s very treat motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding for both of you. The behavior team even believes she could excel in trick training or dog sports. She’s quick, agile, and loves engaging with her person. In the home, she’s a total gem. She’s potty trained, not destructive, and does great in a crate. She sleeps there overnight and settles easily. She’s also what we like to call a “passenger princess” in the car… she LOVES car rides and will happily load herself up, ready for whatever adventure you have planned. When it comes to people, Bambi is very social and loves attention. She may get a little excited and jump if she feels like she’s not being greeted fast enough (honestly relatable), but she settles quickly and then acts like you’ve been best friends forever. She’s done great around older kids (10+) and would thrive in a home with dog-savvy children who can match her playful energy. She’s a great mix of calm and playful. Happy to go for walks, play, and have fun, but also perfectly content lounging and snuggling at home. She would do well in an apartment or a house, just keep in mind she does have a little voice when it comes to treats… she likes to say “please” loudly sometimes. We personally think it adds to her charm. Her ideal home would be one where she’s loved, included, and appreciated for exactly who she is. A funny, affectionate, slightly sassy, incredibly lovable little queen. A yard would be a bonus, or someone committed to daily walks and playtime. She would thrive with someone who enjoys having a dog with personality, who wants a companion that brings both laughter and love into their life. Bambi is the kind of dog that makes you wonder how you ever lived without her. She’s fun, she’s loving, she’s endlessly entertaining, and she has so much personality packed into her little body. Her foster said it best, if circumstances were different, she’d already be staying forever. So if you’re ready for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and then curl up with you like she’s always belonged there… Bambi is ready to take over your heart (and your couch). Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. Story
Looking for a professional shadow who is paid exclusively in belly rubs and forehead kisses? Meet Piper, the 23 lb bundle of joy who is ready to turn your home into a nonstop cuddle fest! Piper is the definition of a happy go lucky girl who arrived on the scene with zero fears and a tail that never stops wagging. She is a total social butterfly when it comes to humans, offering up a silly, sweet personality that is impossible not to fall in love with. Although she may take a moment to warm up, the wait is absolutely worth it. Whether she’s showing off her goofy side or leaning in for some serious snuggle time, Piper’s main goal in life is to be wherever you are. She’s the kind of dog who makes every day feel like a celebration just by being in the room! Watch Piper’s video and see those happy wags in action! https://youtu.be/PQWHyZt9a7k We suspect this little lady is a Rat Terrier mix, weighing in at a perfectly portable 23 lbs. She has a coat like a canvas; deep, dark brown patches are set against a bright white background, with tiny, delicate speckles dusted throughout like a finishing touch from a painter's brush. She is the ultimate companion small enough to join you on all your errands and easy to tuck under your arm, but sturdy enough for a good walk in the park! Of course, as with all our rescue superstars, her breed mix is our best educated guess, but her 100% sweetheart status is a absolute fact! Piper is what we call a 'velcro dog' in the best possible way. She doesn’t just want to be in the same house as you; she wants to be your right hand gal! She might not be able to read the GPS (mapping is hard when you don’t have thumbs!), but she is the most polite passenger you’ll ever meet. Piper is a total pro in the car who settles right in and just enjoys the 'vibe' of a good road trip playlist. While some dogs crave the rugged Great Outdoors, Piper is a homebody at heart who prefers the climate controlled life of indoor lounging. If you’re looking for a companion to binge watch your favorite shows or a quiet partner to hang out with while you work from home, Piper is your girl. How does Piper feel about other dogs? Well, while she isn't much for rough-and-tumble wrestling, she’s more than happy to coexist peacefully with other pups and will even graciously share a prime sun spot for a joint sunbathing session. She doesn’t really play with other dogs because she truthfully prefers hanging out with humans over her canines. She’d be a fantastic match for a household with another laid back dog who respects her space or a home where she can truly thrive as your one and only. Whether she’s lounging near a furry friend or soaking up all the human attention as the star of the show. Piper is a devoted shadow who finds her greatest joy in being the heart of your home. A feline roommate? Piper actually gave us the deets on how she feels about cats, and she’s decided she’d prefer a home without one! She met a cat recently and thought they were very interesting little critters, maybe even a bit too interesting. Piper’s looking for a home where she can be the undisputed star of the show and keep all those forehead kisses for herself! If there was an Olympic sport for cuddling on the couch, Piper would be taking home the gold every single time. She is essentially a professional roommate. Here’s why she’s the ultimate houseguest : • Crate Queen: Piper is 100% crate trained. She treats her crate like her own private VIP lounge it’s her me time sanctuary where she goes to recharge her cuteness batteries. • Leash Legend: Taking her for a walk is a total breeze. She’s a dream on the leash, making every stroll a stress free adventure. • The World is Her Buffet (of Smells): While she loves her naps, she’s also a little explorer! She lives for "sniffari" sessions where she can get out, wag her tail, and capture every single interesting scent the neighborhood has to offer. Because of her chill vibes and manageable size, Piper is 100% apartment friendly. Whether you live in a cozy studio or a house with a sprawling yard, Piper just wants to be wherever you are. As long as there’s a soft spot on the couch and a human to shower with affection, she’ll be the happiest girl in the world. Piper is a silly, cuddly, and endlessly devoted companion who just wants to find her "person." She’s ready to bring a lifetime of smiles and lean in hugs to a very lucky family. This darling boy is a total heart stealer who is ready to blossom into your most devoted companion! He is the definition of a "hang out" dog once he knows you’re his person, he is all about being by your side and soaking up the love. Whether you’re relaxing with a book or moving through your daily routine, he’s happiest just being part of the pack and following your lead with a wagging tail. Want to see those adorable ears in action? Check out his adoption video below to see him showing off his sweet personality! https://youtu.be/2MVHPb3dVqU The Mystery Mix Perfection We like to think of him as a "designer rescue" blend part mystery, part magic, and 100% adorable! We believe Jack Jack is Jack Russel Terrier mix, he has that endearing look that makes everyone stop and say "aww." He is only 22lbs! A manageable size, compact enough to be your favorite travel buddy but big enough to give the world's best hugs. He’s already mastered the art of the afternoon nap; he just needs your living room to make it official. He is currently thriving in a foster home where he’s learning all about the good life! Jack Jack shows us that he is a total pro when it comes to domestic bliss. He’s been a gentleman in his crate and handles car rides like a seasoned traveler, quietly taking in the sights. Being in a foster home has allowed his gentle, sensitive side to really come forward, proving he's ready for a family of his own. When it comes to other dogs, this boy is a total rockstar! He is incredibly polite and respectful, making him a dream addition to a home with existing pups. He has a "go with the flow" attitude. While he’d love a home with a low to medium energy buddy to show him the ropes, he can also thrive as your one and only, soaking up all the undivided attention himself! Curious about how he feels about feline friends? He’s been a total gentleman! He is very respectful of their space and has shown a wonderful ability to just relax and coexist. We even caught him lounging on the couch right near a kitty friend without a care in the world! Since every cat has its own unique "cattitude," we’d love to see how he does in a sleepover with a feline to make sure they’re destined to be best buds. This sweet boy doesn’t need a massive yard to be content; he just wants a quiet neighborhood where he can sniff the roses at his own pace. One of his cutest traits? He is an A+ student when snacks are involved and is a complete gentleman during mealtime! In short, he is a gentle, resilient soul who is ready to reward his forever family with a lifetime of unwavering devotion and soft, happy tail wags. He’s a true treasure just waiting to be found!
