**Please note this is pet is currently out of town pet but we will transport this pet to Portland for you when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** Looking for a new friend? Buddy can be your go-to best buddy! This young pup is athletic, funny, playful, friendly, and great with other dogs. He's an outgoing dog who loves to run around and play, but he's also perfectly content to relax and take it easy — especially with his favorite humans. If you're looking for a fun-loving medium-sized dog, look no further than Buddy Rich! He is built to bring joy and laughter to your life, and he'll always be up for a game of fetch or a walk in the park. Ask us about your next best Buddy today — you won't regret it! Buddy is a little over a year old and around 37 pounds. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs — for them, one application will be fine. Because we have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news, and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions finding our fur babies the most loving homes. Please do not apply if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Buddy the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age-appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and travel expenses. All our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for their transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

Story
Meet Buzz Basil Toy Story! Meet Buzz Basil Toy Story, a tiny puppy currently estimated to be about 2 months old. We believe this little one may be a German Shepherd/Jack Russell Terrier mix, but as with many rescue puppies, his exact breed blend is a mystery. What isn’t a mystery is that he’s absolutely adorable. Watch Buzz and his buddies in their video! https://youtu.be/zv1xI6w6QDQ?si=Zh_erTHktJ4bhzas With his rich black-and-brown coat, tiny white chest, soulful puppy eyes, and sweet little face, Buzz looks like a miniature woodland creature who accidentally wandered into a toy box. He’s so tiny right now that he can practically fit in your hands, but his cuteness is larger than life. Buzz is currently thriving in a loving foster home surrounded by dogs, cats, children, and people of all ages. His foster home also happens to be a working farm, where he has been introduced to goats, pigs, chickens, cattle, and all kinds of everyday farm life. Thanks to all of these experiences, he’s growing into a confident, well-rounded little puppy who’s learning that the world is full of interesting friends. Buzz has a wonderfully peaceful personality that makes him stand out. While his siblings may be busy causing puppy chaos, Buzz is often perfectly content taking it all in, enjoying a cozy nap, or quietly wandering around to see what everyone else is up to. He takes his naps very seriously, and after a little play session, you’ll usually find him curled up somewhere cozy, recharging for his next adventure. That doesn’t mean he isn’t playful—he absolutely enjoys romping around with his siblings, playing with toys, and joining in on puppy fun. He simply has a calm, easygoing way about him that makes him a joy to be around. He’s affectionate without being demanding, gentle with children, and always happy to soak up a cuddle whenever one is offered. One of the sweetest things about Buzz is how naturally he fits into life on the farm. He happily coexists with goats, pigs, chickens, cattle, dogs, cats, and all the sights and sounds that come with country living. He tends to mind his own business, takes new experiences in stride, and has the kind of steady temperament that suggests he’ll grow into an excellent companion, whether you’re looking for a family dog, a farm sidekick, or a best friend for everyday adventures. Like all young puppies, Buzz will need a family committed to training, socialization, patience, and consistency. The work put into him now will help shape the wonderful adult dog he’ll become. We require adopters to begin crate training immediately to support potty training, confidence building, and healthy routines from the start. Puppies like Buzz are among the most vulnerable animals in rescue. By choosing adoption, you’re not only changing his life forever, but also helping create space for another puppy who desperately needs a chance. If you’re looking for a puppy with a gentle heart, a love for cozy naps, a playful spirit, and the kind of easygoing personality that fits in just about anywhere—from a busy family home to a peaceful farm—Buzz Basil Toy Story is ready to blast off into your heart. Story
**Now fostered in Truxton, NY** If you’re looking for a tiny queen with a big personality, a hilarious sense of humor, and just enough sass to keep life interesting… meet Bambi. This girl is pure entertainment wrapped up in the cutest little package. She’s the kind of dog who will have you laughing without even trying, flashing that big smile of hers, and somehow becoming the main character of your life overnight. Bambi doesn’t just exist in your home… she runs it (lovingly, of course). Watch her video and fall in love with her personality: https://youtu.be/2_n3tL3izY8?si=2MCNVAV5GmXcfkav Bambi is believed to be a chihuahua mix, around 6 years old, and approximately 30 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. What we can guarantee? She’s a certified Texas Special. A perfect mix of all the best things that somehow created one incredible dog. Let’s get one thing straight… Bambi is QUEEN B. She loves her people deeply and she absolutely expects her fair share (okay… all) of the love and attention. Belly rubs? Hers. Ear scratches? Hers. Treats? Also hers. And honestly, you won’t even mind because she makes it impossible not to adore her. She’s affectionate, snuggly, and will happily curl up with you on the couch. Especially if you’re wearing cozy clothes because yes, she is that kind of girl. She has a really fun, playful side too. Bambi loves tug-of-war, chasing toys, and bringing that bouncy, silly energy when she’s in the mood. She’s especially entertaining because sometimes she brings the game right into your lap. Personal space is optional when you’re having fun. Her favorite toys include Lamb Chop and her bunny, and if one falls off the couch? Out of sight, out of existence. It’s honestly hilarious. With other dogs, Bambi can be a bit particular. She’s not the type to love every dog she meets, but with the right match, she can really enjoy playtime, especially with dogs who match her energy and understand her style of play. Think confident, respectful dogs who enjoy wrestling, chase, and a little bit of rough-and-tumble fun, but who also know when to take breaks. She would also be perfectly happy as your one and only, soaking up all the attention and being the center of your world (which, let’s be honest, is her preference). She has met cats and did well overall, showing curiosity and even trying to initiate play. She would do best with a dog-savvy cat who doesn’t mind her playful interest and can hold their own if needed. Bambi is a smart girl who loves to learn. She already knows sit, shake, stay, and is working on lay down. She’s very treat motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding for both of you. The behavior team even believes she could excel in trick training or dog sports. She’s quick, agile, and loves engaging with her person. In the home, she’s a total gem. She’s potty trained, not destructive, and does great in a crate. She sleeps there overnight and settles easily. She’s also what we like to call a “passenger princess” in the car… she LOVES car rides and will happily load herself up, ready for whatever adventure you have planned. When it comes to people, Bambi is very social and loves attention. She may get a little excited and jump if she feels like she’s not being greeted fast enough (honestly relatable), but she settles quickly and then acts like you’ve been best friends forever. She’s done great around older kids (10+) and would thrive in a home with dog-savvy children who can match her playful energy. She’s a great mix of calm and playful. Happy to go for walks, play, and have fun, but also perfectly content lounging and snuggling at home. She would do well in an apartment or a house, just keep in mind she does have a little voice when it comes to treats… she likes to say “please” loudly sometimes. We personally think it adds to her charm. Her ideal home would be one where she’s loved, included, and appreciated for exactly who she is. A funny, affectionate, slightly sassy, incredibly lovable little queen. A yard would be a bonus, or someone committed to daily walks and playtime. She would thrive with someone who enjoys having a dog with personality, who wants a companion that brings both laughter and love into their life. Bambi is the kind of dog that makes you wonder how you ever lived without her. She’s fun, she’s loving, she’s endlessly entertaining, and she has so much personality packed into her little body. Her foster said it best, if circumstances were different, she’d already be staying forever. So if you’re ready for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, and then curl up with you like she’s always belonged there… Bambi is ready to take over your heart (and your couch). Does Bambi sound like your girl? Apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/68238e82024e06cf690e32e3 Questions? Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Meet Buttercup Coconut Toy Story! Meet Buttercup Coconut Toy Story, a tiny puppy currently estimated to be about 3 months old. We believe this little one may be a Lab/Jack Russell Terrier mix, but as with many rescue puppies, her exact breed blend is a mystery. What isn’t a mystery is that she’s absolutely precious. Watch Buttercup and her siblings in action in their video! https://youtu.be/zv1xI6w6QDQ?si=Zh_erTHktJ4bhzas With her fluffy white coat, adorable scruffy puppy fur, sweet little face, and the tiniest brown spot near the base of her tail, Buttercup looks like a stuffed animal that wandered out of a toy store and into real life. She’s impossibly cute, wonderfully fluffy, and perfectly puppy-sized. Buttercup is currently thriving in a loving foster home where she’s growing up around dogs, cats, children, and lots of people. Every day is filled with new experiences, cuddles, puppy wrestling matches, and long naps piled up with her siblings. Buttercup has the kind of personality that lights up a room without even trying. She’s a cheerful little social butterfly who loves being wherever the fun is happening. Whether she’s bouncing after her siblings, carrying a toy almost as big as she is, or happily greeting anyone willing to give her attention, she approaches life with a joyful curiosity that’s impossible not to smile at. She’s wonderfully affectionate, too. Buttercup loves to be loved. She happily leans into pets, enjoys being held, and is always ready to curl up beside her people after a busy play session. One minute she’s zooming around with her siblings, and the next she’s snuggled up for a cozy puppy nap like she never had a care in the world. Growing up surrounded by dogs, cats, children, and people of all ages has helped Buttercup become a confident and well-socialized puppy. She’s learning that new friends are exciting, new adventures are fun, and every day brings something worth wagging her tail about. Because Buttercup is still very young, her future family should be prepared for all the joys and responsibilities that come with puppyhood. Story
Meet Jessie Marshmallow Toy Story! Meet Jessie Marshmallow Toy Story, a tiny puppy currently estimated to be about 2 months old. We believe this little one may be a Jack Russell Terrier mix, but as with many rescue puppies, her exact breed blend is a mystery. What isn’t a mystery is that she is absolutely precious. Watch Jessie and her siblings in their video! https://youtu.be/zv1xI6w6QDQ?si=Zh_erTHktJ4bhzas Jessie looks like a tiny marshmallow that sprouted legs and decided to become a puppy. With her fluffy white coat, sweet little face, button nose, and bright puppy eyes, she has the kind of cuteness that makes people instantly melt. This beautiful little girl is currently growing up in a loving foster home surrounded by dogs, cats, children, and people of all ages. Every day is filled with snuggles, socialization, puppy playtime, and plenty of naps as she learns about the world around her. Jessie is the kind of puppy who wakes up every morning convinced it’s going to be the best day ever. She greets life with a happy little bounce, an eager tail wag, and endless curiosity about whatever is happening around her. Whether she’s investigating a new toy, following her siblings into their next adventure, or proudly carrying around a treasure she found, Jessie has a joyful spirit that’s wonderfully contagious. She’s playful without being over-the-top and affectionate without ever being demanding. Jessie loves a good game of puppy chase or a wrestling match with her siblings, but she’s just as content being scooped into someone’s arms for a cuddle session. She has a sweet, easygoing personality that makes it feel like she’s been everyone’s best friend from the very beginning. Growing up surrounded by dogs, cats, children, and people of all ages has helped Jessie become a confident and social little girl. She enjoys making new friends, embraces new experiences with curiosity, and always seems ready for whatever fun comes next—especially if toys, belly rubs, or treats happen to be involved. Like all young puppies, Jessie will need a family committed to training, socialization, patience, and consistency. We require adopters to begin crate training immediately to help establish routine, build confidence, and support potty training success as she grows. Puppies like Jessie are among the most vulnerable animals in rescue. By choosing adoption, you’re not only changing her life forever, but you’re also helping create space for another puppy who desperately needs a second chance. If you’re looking for a puppy who can turn an ordinary afternoon into an adventure, who believes every new person is a friend waiting to happen, and who will happily end each day curled up in your lap, Jessie Marshmallow Toy Story is ready to bring a lifetime of love, laughter, and puppy kisses to her forever family.
