Story
Meet Lizzie, a resilient survivor with the softest coat and the sweetest heart. Lizzie’s story began behind a Piggly Wiggly in Camden, AL, where she and her friends Buster and Belle were struggling to survive. Severely emaciated, covered in ticks and fleas, and frightened by the busy world around her, Lizzie’s chances looked slim. But with rescue, safety, and care, she blossomed into a healthy, happy pup. Now her true personality shines. Lizzie is endlessly snuggly and sweet, the kind of companion who loves nothing more than curling up close. Her short coat is silky soft, and her gentle nature makes her a joy to be around. Lizzie has made a full recovery and is thriving, but her heart still beats strongest when she’s near her best friend Buster. Ideally, these two inseparable companions would find a home together, where they can continue their journey side by side. If you’re ready to open your heart to a loving, resilient pup (or maybe even two), Lizzie is waiting to meet you.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Asters momma lived with her daughter and they were evicted.  Momma didn't have anywhere to go and her sister said she could come stay with them but Aster was not allowed :(  How heartbreaking.  Sweetest pup ever and had been with her momma since she was 8 weeks old.  No worries we at 2nd Chance LOVE our seniors so Aster has become a part of our family and although she came with a urinary tract infection she is now doing well and happy to be alive :)  Welcome to the family sweet lady!  You are LOVEDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Jax is a 5 year old Jack Russell Terrier. His nicknames are Jacka Wacka, Wack and Wacka. We like to say Jacka Wacka Hacka Cracka too lol! He responds to all the names. He is an incredibly loving dog who adores snuggling under blankets in bed and on the couch, being playful, giving kisses, and always being close to his person. He has a lot of drive and would make a great small game hunting dog, if properly trained. He plays with every single toy that has been given to him with his favorite being specifically pink spiky squeaky balls from petsmart. He is loyal to his core and will truly be your best friend. I mean that with my whole heart. Jax would do best in: - A home with an experienced dog owner - Older, respectful children only (or adults only) - Someone who loves to be outside where he can run. - No cats - He has acclimated to med/large dogs in the past, but with time and patience. It also depends on the temperament of the other dog and being able to tolerate terrier behavior.

CHERRY IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE ADOPTED!    Meet Cherry! Cherry is a spunky little girl that’s full of personality. She doesn’t meet a stranger and is dog friendly! She’s a young pup who is just a year old, so she does still have some of that puppy mentality. Cherry would make an amazing addition to any family that is looking to add some fun into their lives. She’s 15 pounds, very active and outgoing, but also doesn’t mind a nap every once in a while. She may be small but she is mighty! She is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all dog vaccinations. Her adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to PA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Cherry up north to her new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com   You can apply to adopt Cherry here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net   THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!
