Huck was surrendered by his owner. He was adopted as a young baby but it didn’t take long to realize he wasn’t a good fit for the family. Huck’s new owners had two large dogs that had no interest in adding a puppy to their family. Realizing they had made a mistake and weren’t going to be able to keep Huck safe they decided it was time to get Huck out of there. They contacted us to help them a safe place for Huck to live. Now Huck has been examined by our vet, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is ready to find a fabulous home. If you are interested in meeting Huck let us know.

Douglas was found in the streets of San Antonio. Not neutered, not microchipped, no owner found. He appeared to be running the streets for sometime. He was quite malnourished and appeared to be wasting away while waiting for someone to give him a chance at life. Douglas is a very friendly little dog who just wants to find a family to love him!

This little girl was found starving and living on the streets. Her finding angel was scared she was going to be hit by a car. They picked her up and searched for her family. She was in obviousgu need of veterinary care. She was absolute skin and bones. She certainly isn't chunky now but she has gained enough weight to be deemed healthy enough to be spayed and vaccinated. She is a very happy little girl despite the rough life she has had so far. She appears to be just about a year old and is under 10 pounds. She has such a happy spirit! We would love for her to find a family that will love her and treat her like the treasure we know she is!

Rusty is powered by equal parts stubbornness and old-man wisdom. He may take twice as long to get up from a nap, but once he’s upright, he will sniff out any treat in the vicinity. As a Jack Russell Terrier mix with a few years under his belt, he has selective hearing and a desire for adventure. Bess is a sweet and tenderhearted dog who is about 4 years old and weighs 14 pounds. We rescued her and her 2 puppies Billy and Buddy from someone's yard near the border of Mexico. She does have a warm-up period when meeting new people. Once she knows you will be kind to her, she loves to get attention and affection. Coming from the environment she was in previously, it is apparent that she wasn’t handled very much so she just needs time to trust and know that she is in a safe space. She gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue. She would do best in a calm and patient home where she can acclimate to her new surroundings and learn to trust. For the first few weeks, use a harness when walking her until she gets used to you. She is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call her own! Bess is at our rescue in Hondo, Tx and a meet and greet can be arranged with an approved application. She is spayed, up to date on all shots, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325.
