Story
Quarantine up 5/21 Meet Happy .... and her name couldn’t be more fitting. Happy is a 15-pound bundle of joy, possibly a Pug Terrier mix or Brussels Griffon mix, and we estimate she’s around two years old. She is truly the life of the party! If dogs could apply for jobs, Happy would make the perfect Walmart greeter — she loves everyone she meets and is always full of happiness. This fun-loving girl plays a little rough and tumble, reminding us of a tiny bull in a china shop. Because of her playful energy, she would do best in a home with another dog who enjoys wrestling, romping, and keeping up with her spirited personality. Happy absolutely adores people and has never met a stranger. She was found at the Weslaco shelter in deep South Texas with no collar, no tags, not spayed, not microchipped, and sadly, no one came looking for her. Their loss is truly our gain, because we are beyond grateful to have this sweet, joyful little girl safe with us. Happy is now ready for the loving future she deserves. Happy is located in Hondo, TX and a meet and greet can be scheduled with an approved application. If you’d like to make this sweet dog part of your family, please review our adoption process and complete an application here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescue Every dog adopted through Tracy’s Paws receives: • Chagas, heartworm, and tick testing (when age-appropriate) • All core vaccines (age-appropriate) • Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives • Regular Deworming • Spay/neuter surgery • Microchip Breed and age listings are our best guess, based on appearance. Whether you're adopting from us or anywhere in the southern states, please familiarize yourself with Chagas disease. It's endemic in the south. Story
Located in San Antonio Texas Meet Gerti the Border Terrier! She is our newest addition. She was found running the streets with her Dogo Argentino pal. The family that found them spent weeks trying to find their owners with no success. Gerti was not spayed and did not have a microchip. The good new is, she is now spayed, microchipped, and has had all her vaccines! The bad news is, she is heartworm positive. All though we are all very bummed about this she has a fabulous veterinarian that is taking care of her! She has started Gerti on her heartworm treatment protocol and says there is no reason why she can’t find a new home while she is undergoing treatment! Now we just need to find her that perfect place to call home! If you are interested in Gerti let us know.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, I’m Alexis I’m a sweet little Border Terrier mix who somehow found myself wandering through a neighborhood all alone, looking a bit lost and hoping someone would help me. Thankfully, kind people brought me to safety, and now I’m ready to find a forever home where I’ll never have to wonder where I belong again. I was born around 5/6/2025 and weigh about 20 pounds — just the perfect size to tag along wherever you go. I absolutely adore people and always want to be close to my humans. If you’re sitting down, there’s a good chance I’ll want to sit nearby too. I’m a very loving girl with a gentle personality. I can be a little jumpy at times, so older kids would probably be best for me. I also seem to be pretty quiet overall and don’t spend my time barking in my kennel. I’m mostly potty trained, though like any dog, I may need a little patience and consistency while adjusting to a new home and routine. One important thing to know about me: I am a fence climber, so I will need a secure, properly fenced backyard to keep me safe. I’m curious and adventurous. I’m spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, 4DX negative, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto — all ready for my next chapter. Adoption fee: $400 Apply at: www.adoggie4you.org Alexis is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $225 transport fee. Please note that transport is not available to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 5, 2026, 4:46 pm

Story
Benny was found running the streets in a stray dog pack in the Rio Grande Valley. When he first came here, he was fearful around men and could be a bully to new dogs, but he's come a long way since then. Once he gets to know you, he's a sweet, funny, playful dog who wants to be with you as much as possible. Benny was initially cat-aggressive, but he's been around cats for several months and has grown used to them. He mostly ignores them but sometimes chases them. He can be around cats, but should not be left alone with them. (I kennel him when we leave.) Benny gets along well with most female dogs, but he can be dominant towards male dogs. He shows some resource guarding of both food and people and seems to want to "defend" his people from other dogs. That doesn't mean he can't get along with other dogs or other male dogs, but he needs to be introduced to other dogs carefully. The same can be true for introducing him to new people---he needs some time to build trust. Someone who is willing to take time and socialize Benny with other people and animals would be a great adopter. Benny is a great dog who really wants to please. He is loving, affectionate, and playful.
