Story
Located in San Antonio Texas Meet Gerti the Border Terrier! She is our newest addition. She was found running the streets with her Dogo Argentino pal. The family that found them spent weeks trying to find their owners with no success. Gerti was not spayed and did not have a microchip. The good new is, she is now spayed, microchipped, and has had all her vaccines! The bad news is, she is heartworm positive. All though we are all very bummed about this she has a fabulous veterinarian that is taking care of her! She has started Gerti on her heartworm treatment protocol and says there is no reason why she can’t find a new home while she is undergoing treatment! Now we just need to find her that perfect place to call home! If you are interested in Gerti let us know.

Story
Meet Samantha, a sweet, silly girl who is fifteen pounds of fawn-colored fur and fun. Yes, Samantha is an adorable Pug/Brussels Griffon mix whose silky, shaggy fur almost covers her googly, brown button eyes. This pup is a a certified foot warmer by day who prefers sleeping with you in your bed at night. For now she lives in a foster home where she's crated when the family works, but roams the house freely most of the time. Samantha is housetrained, but sometimes has one accident, and only one, when first moved to a new home. Basically, she's a young, medium-energy girl who loves running laps during exercise time in her yard. Samantha also adores other dogs, so she would be happiest in a home that features another canine companion to romp with. Yes Samantha can be playful, curious or chill. She enjoys splooting -- lying flat on the floor with her front legs strait ahead and her back legs stretched flat behind her like a miniature sphinx. The sight, like so many things Samantha does, will make you smile. So apply now to meet this adorable, entertaining sweetheart today! Story
Benny was found running the streets in a stray dog pack in the Rio Grande Valley. When he first came here, he was fearful around men and could be a bully to new dogs, but he's come a long way since then. Once he gets to know you, he's a sweet, funny, playful dog who wants to be with you as much as possible. Benny was initially cat-aggressive, but he's been around cats for several months and has grown used to them. He mostly ignores them but sometimes chases them. He can be around cats, but should not be left alone with them. (I kennel him when we leave.) Benny gets along well with most female dogs, but he can be dominant towards male dogs. He shows some resource guarding of both food and people and seems to want to "defend" his people from other dogs. That doesn't mean he can't get along with other dogs or other male dogs, but he needs to be introduced to other dogs carefully. The same can be true for introducing him to new people---he needs some time to build trust. Someone who is willing to take time and socialize Benny with other people and animals would be a great adopter. Benny is a great dog who really wants to please. He is loving, affectionate, and playful.

Story
Mabel is about 7 months old, weighs 10 pounds and is a typical happy, playful puppy! She is very sweet, friendly and as you can see in the video, enjoys exploring and playing. She was rescued with her brother Milo from a flea market where they were being given away near the border of Mexico. We are so happy they are safe with us. We can see Mabel doing well in a home where she can get lots of attention and playtime with her family. She is curious and also enjoys being held. She has a fun personality and in true terrier fashion, she is very smart. She enjoys playing with toys and her brother. She is just a fun-loving puppy who can’t wait to find a home of her own! She would be a wonderful, loyal companion to grow up in just about any family environment. She would benefit from a puppy obedience class and crate training. Mabel is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped and her adoption fee is $325. A meet and greet can be arranged with an approved application. Mabel is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas. If you would like to add this cutie to your family, please review our process and complete an application here - https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/adopt Learn more about our rescue here: https://www.facebook.com/TracysPawsRescueServices our dogs receive prior to adoption: Chagas Testing Heartworm and Tick Testing (age appropriate). All age-appropriate vaccines, Heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, Spay/neuter surgery, Microchip *The breed(s) listed are guessed and based on the dog's physical appearance.* Mabel tested positive for Chagas disease and has started her treatment. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas
