Story
Single dog home preference*** This is Finn (Finny), she is about 5 years old & incredibly sweet! She can be very shy, but very smart. She has a lot of energy & is good off leash, she will never leave your side. Though she can get scared easily so I would not have her off leash in an area busy with cars, people or dogs. She is scared large dogs. She can do well with other dogs, (took about 1-2 months to bond with my other dog). Even though she has a lot of energy she's also more than happy to be a couch potato if you let her snuggle with you. She is potty trained & almost never barks, except when someone she is excited about comes home. She is also crate trained though I never crate here. The crate is a safe space for her. I have had Finn 4+ years. I feel terrible to rehome her, but we just never bonded & I know she we be happier in a quieter environment as an only dog w/ no competing attention. Preferably someone who works from home or is retired.

Story
Lita is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. We know that Lita is a wire-haired Jack Russell Terrier mix. She is just over 1 year of age and she weighs 21 pounds. Lita also has an adorable head tilt. She is sweet, active, and playful. She loves to be cuddled and petted. At first, Lita was terrified of the other dogs, but now she loves to run and play with all of the other dogs. Lita does like to chase cats. Lita is a JRT, she is very smart, and she will jump a 4'-5' fence or gate to go chase a squirrel or cat. She must have a secure 6' fence to prevent escape. We put a training collar on her for about a week and she quickly learned to stay in the yard and to come when called. Lita is crate-trained and will run and get in her crate when it is time to do so. She obviously received no training from the person who previously had her, but she is very smart and learns quickly. Lita may need more work with housetraining and her house manners have gotten much better - she no longer chews on things that she is not supposed to. Lita must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and must have a secure, 6-foot-tall fenced yard to run and play. Lita is healthy. She is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Litas' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to Vancouver WA She is located in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted. Story
Cowgirl is a lovely little momma dog we rescued out of California when she came into a shelter pregnant. Cowgirl has taken wonderful care of all her "Western Litter" puppies and can leave them on May 2nd. She can be visited in her foster home in the meantime. - 19lbs and approximately 4 years old - Possibly a Jack Russell Terrier/Chihuahua mix. She is so unique with her big ears and stubby little low rider legs! - Sweet, gentle, affectionate, cuddly and loves people - Medium to lower energy - Knows how to use a doggie door and has been good with her potty habits - Good with other dogs and is fostered with 4 other adult dogs. We have not seen her with cats yet but would guess that she would probably be fine with them. Cowgirl is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her spay surgery is June 20th which is the soonest date we could get and it will allow her milk to fully dry up. Surgery is at our vet in Milwaukie, Oregon and she would go home with her adopter on a spay contract. Her adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $350 adoption fee Fostered in Vancouver, Washington APPLY TO ADOPT COWGIRL: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Billy the Kid is an adorable little fluff from our "Western Litter." His mom, Cowgirl, was found as a pregnant stray and rescued out of California and had her puppies in a foster home. Here's a little about Billy the Kid: - Can go home with his new family on May 5th and be visited in his foster home in the meantime. - Date of birth is 3/7/24 and he currently weighs 3lbs at 6 weeks old. His mom is 19.8lbs full of milk still. - We are not entirely sure of breed mix because we only have mom dog to reference. She appears to be part Jack Russell Terrier. Puppies are very soft and fluffy. - Momma dog is a low rider with a long body, short legs, giant adorable years and a scruffy coat. Mom dog is laid back and very sweet and affectionate. She has been a wonderful momma and never gotten snippy with her puppies. She is very patient and nurturing. We are not sure what dad dog is but expect these puppies to mature to under 25lbs and be small breed adults. We are looking for patient, committed puppy adopters who realize taking on a very young puppy requires a lot of time, effort and training. Puppies are working on potty training in foster and getting excellent socialization with other gentle small breed dogs and exposure to a backyard with green grass and lots of things to sniff and play in. Adoption fee includes neuter surgery at our partner vet clinic in SW Portland in August, microchip, first vaccine, multiple rounds of dewormer and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Portland or Tualatin. $450 adoption fee Fostered in Vancouver, Washington APPLY TO ADOPT ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG
